Chapter 32: MIND

Chapter 32: MIND

When Lynna left, Sabrina walked in shortly with a file in her hand.

"How did it go, sir? The Manager said she was the most qualified applicant," Sabrina asked.

"We are not employing her. She doesn’t deserve a minute as General Accountant," Jayden replied, signaling Sabrina to go ahead and sit.

Sabrina furrowed her brows, her eyes demanding to know why he had made such a decision. But she understood that maybe Jayden was mad at her for insulting him the previous day when he arrived, not knowing he was the new Chairman.

If that was the way he was judging, then she really had no issues with it. She figured it was a good way of punishing her and also believed that such behavior mustn’t be tolerated.

Having worked with the former Chairman for six years, she had grown under the influence of strict discipline.

With a shrug, she handed the file to Jayden.

"We already began conducting the interview since morning... We have also begun marking some individuals, especially for vacant posts.

"For the other workers who had been here..." Sabrina paused. "It has been hard..."

"I know," Jayden cut in. "You are the ambassador of this company. You know every root and stem of this money much more than I do. You know what caused the weak progress of this company..."

Sabrina’s eyes stood still for a moment.

"That’s why I’m leaving it to you. Fire every worker that has been underperforming and give space to new individuals. We will make sure to compensate them. It’s for the good of the company... Sometimes we just have to put purpose ahead of sympathy," Jayden said.

Sabrina hesitated before nodding. "Noted, sir. I’ll do as you said. But I’d also like to inform you that we only have $670,000 in the company’s purse. We have actually kept it for expenses for the next three months since sales have dropped badly," Sabrina informed.

"How many sales per day?" Jayden asked.

"Sometimes one, two, or three. The cheaper cars like Z Carlos and Mactamina. Sometimes we make no sales in a day," Sabrina said.

"Oops. That’s really bad. But don’t worry. We’ll find a way. Just pay $15,000 to every fired worker, and explain why they had to go. Make them understand. Tell the board, including the ones you gave the job to, to settle in the conference room by 2 PM. We will be having an important meeting," Jayden ordered.

Sabrina simply nodded and headed out.

When she left, Jayden went straight to planning a way out of the mess the company was stuck in.

With the total reports submitted, it was clear that Zintech Automobile would be crumbling within three months, and to make it worse, it wouldn’t even last up to two months when the lenders demand payment for the debts.

Due to the poor expertise of the engineers, the cars produced had such low quality that the masses had lost interest in any product made by Zintech. They preferred Benz, McLaren, Lamborghini, and some other top cars in the city.

Jayden had to fix this... Even though it wasn’t the only problem, he had to start from somewhere.

He spent almost two hours contemplating and brainstorming, trying to make a strong move to bring Zintech back to life.

Sure, good ideas came, but he ended up changing his mind after realizing that the disadvantages could be brutal.

He thought about switching to mobile phone production, but it was also a weak idea since there was already too much competition.

Jayden was already getting tired of thinking, but then he discovered he had hope.

He suddenly remembered the skill he gained after completing one of the previous tasks.

[Skill Name: Operational Charisma Intelligence.]

[Description: You have the ability to gather teams, change personality in any situation, handle traps and issues with excellent strategies, and run any organization under your power.]

"Handle issues with excellent strategies..." he muttered. "Perhaps it can help. How do I use this skill?" he asked.

>[At will, with just a demand for activation.]

Jayden nodded. "Well then. Let’s use the damned skill."

Jayden demanded activation, and soon after, a new sensation rose in his head.

Jayden suddenly began receiving a series of mind-blowing ideas, all entering his brain at once. His eyes widened the moment he realized that, and without wasting a second, he picked up a notebook and began to write.

Jayden just saw himself writing, not daring to let any clue slide without penning it down.

Every word, every sound, every clue... They came loud and clear... Bold.

When he was finally done, deactivating the skill, he noticed that he had written up to ten pages in the large notebook.

Jayden couldn’t help but sigh, and then he began to read.

There was not much time to linger inside the office when Sabrina came to notify him that it was time for the meeting already, so he hurried to the conference room in no time.

He had planned to reveal his plans today and now, and also give them a speech that could boost their energy, not wanting the company’s deficiency in progress to continue.

When he reached the conference room, he didn’t bother sitting as he went straight to addressing the new workers first, and then went straight to business.

"Zintech Automobile, as we all know, is dying..." he began, causing side murmurs.

"We all know that in a few months, we’d all be driven out of here if we don’t pay our debts."

Many of the officials, especially the old ones, nodded.

"But as the new chairman, I won’t let that happen. I would never," Jayden spoke. The officials clearly sensed the confidence in him, and it only gave them hope as well.

"That’s why I have decided to bring a way out of this."

Jayden opened the notebook, observed it for a moment, and then continued. frёeweɓηovel.coɱ

"We are going to be producing some new car models with entirely new features. Pure changes and a new brand name," Jayden announced.

The room became dead silent at that moment, their ears fixed on the speech.

Thus, the chairman continued.

"We are going to be building AI-powered cars."

At that instant, a loud session of mumbling and chatter rose from all sides, showing a clear hint of doubt or... maybe surprise.

"Sure, there haven’t been cars like that, but how about we be the first to kickstart this great move? There have been certain inefficiencies in electric and smart vehicles, but with an AI-powered car, there would be little to no errors in any way."

"Cars don’t need drivers. They need brains. Real-time thinking. Decision-making. And not just auto-pilot... I’m talking about artificial intelligence that learns from its owner like a damn assistant."

"A car that could just drive you to your destination with just a command. No need to stress out. A car that can detect issues and traffic long beforehand and simply take another route for fast transportation. An AI that can be your friend," Jayden explained.

A man suddenly raised his hand, asking for a moment to talk.

It was Nicholas, the leader of the Planning Team.

"Sir... The money in the company’s account is way too low to even make enough of the normal cars we used to build. How can we even get this done?" he asked.

"Don’t worry about that. There will be a good capital established before we begin," Jayden replied, and Nicholas felt okay with that.

The board was also relaxed as he said that, because some had already predicted that perhaps he would be another chairman who would loan money from the Central Bank of Nortasia.

But he was not, from the way they saw it. He was wealthy enough to run this himself.

"So... To do that, we’ll need good car designers and engineers. Because this model will be a very different and unique one."

The board nodded in approval.

"After that, we will install the AI core, which we will name MIND," Jayden smiled.

"MIND?" Sabrina, who was sitting close, asked.

"Modular Intelligence for Navigational Driving," Jayden responded.

It was just a morsel of the idea being revealed, but the board already began to applaud their new chairman, acknowledging the great idea and effort.

MIND...

That was a strong name for an AI core, and they just couldn’t wait to begin the progress.

Jayden stated that he would change the brand name from Z to Zin, and they’d carry on with creating three different models.

Something mind-blowing that would shake the entire country.
