Chapter 18.1 - A Pretend Date

Chapter 18.1 - A Pretend Date

T/N: Thank you to Lolilu for sponsoring 5 weeks of daily updates for IMG! It’ll be a doozy as I basically have nothing stored up, and will be doing daily translations for this project.

P.S. Chapter lengths for IMG have fluctuated between 2-3k words, and will be split to 2 releases (like this one) if it’s above 2.5k.

The spaceship took off on time at 1:30 pm.

To Luo Fei’s surprise, the passengers of the smart spaceship could barely feel any turbulence when it took off. The spaceship slowly rose to high altitude, broke through the gravity of the atmosphere, entered the interstellar channel, and then made its first space jump. The entire voyage was very stable. If not for the vast cosmic starry sky that could be seen outside the porthole, people might even have the illusion of living in a hotel room the entire time.

Emil lay on the recliner by the porthole, looking out of the window, and praised: “KM Airlines is really amazing. This generation of spaceships is much better than the previous ones. After this voyage, there will be a lot of supporters on the internet. Even though KM’s stock is falling now, as long as the marketing is successful, the company’s market value will definitely double next year.”

Luo Fei also sat down on the other recliner and rubbed his chin thoughtfully. “You said earlier that Mo Han passed the qualification examination in advance and obtained the certificate of senior engineer. Before university, if he was studying at home with his younger brother Mo Lin, where did his professional knowledge come from?”

Emil: “…”

I was talking about spaceships, and you started talking about Mo Han again? Can we still chat happily?!

Noticing Emil’s strange expression, Luo Fei turned around and said, “What?”

Emil coughed and looked at his cousin seriously: “Luo Fei, why are you digging into Mo Han again? Don’t you think your curiosity about the Mo family is a bit much?” As a cousin and friend, Emil really wanted to persuade Luo Fei. “Yes, whether it’s the kidnapping case back then or the Mo twins, there are suspicious things about it. But no one has found anything these years, and I don’t think you need to wade into these muddy waters and meddle in the Mo family’s business.”

Emil’s words are indeed reasonable. The imperial royal family and the Mo family in the business world have never interfered with each other. No matter what secrets are behind Mo Han and Mo Lin, Luo Fei should not meddle in the Mo family’s business. Of course Luo Fei also knows this. With his status as the First Prince, he must rein in such trivial curiosities within a reasonable range.

If Luo Fei and Mo Han are just ordinary friends, Luo Fei will naturally not pay attention to the Mo family’s affairs.

But what if Luo Fei wants Mo Han to be his princess?

The affairs of the Mo family are his affairs. His future wife’s family affairs, of course, must be checked clearly.

Luo Fei smiled and said, “Cousin, don’t worry, I know.”

Emil breathed a sigh of relief, thinking he had listened to his advice.

It never occurred to her that Luo Fei’s so-called “knowing” was the kind to marry Mo Han back home as his wife.

***

Luo Fei didn’t ask Emil about Mo Han again. He didn’t want to tell Emil that he liked Mo Han for the time being, after all, the fact that the First Prince fell in love with an alpha sounded too shocking, and will cause unnecessary trouble if spread. Keeping a low profile is better before he’s fully sure.

Although he likes Mo Han, it’s not like he can forcefully tie the other party back if he disagrees. The Empire advocates freedom of marriage, and as the First Prince, he must set an example. Even if the people don’t spit on him for forcing marriage, his father will kill him first.

Therefore, after confirming his intentions, the first thing he should do is to fully understand Mo Han, pursue Mo Han, and make Mo Han like him too.

Only when they are in love with each other, will he have the capital to negotiate with his father and Mr. Mo Qiming. Otherwise, even if he falls in love with Mo Han, wouldn’t all his hard work go to waste if Mo Han says “I don’t want to”?

After quickly clearing up the key points, Luo Fei asked Chongming to carefully run through all of Mo Han’s information.

Since Mo Han had been attending classes with his younger brother at home until he was 18 years old, most information that can be found is after he entered Hermann University. He completed a four-year program in two years and passed the highest professional engineering certification ahead of schedule. Mo Han’s story is simply a “student legend” that can be made into a movie.

As far as Luo Fei knows, the course load at Hermann University is heavy, and failing courses is common. No matter how smart Mo Han is, finishing a four-year program in two years is a pipedream.

The only explanation is that before he came to Hermann University, he had already learned most of the relevant computer coding-related and professional knowledge, which allowed him to qualify and pass the exam ahead of schedule.

It seems that Mr. Mo Qiming is very far-sighted. He hired a tutor in advance to make up lessons for Mo Han, giving his son a much higher starting point compared to his peers.

Luo Fei’s father had the same way of educating him – letting him walk ahead of his peers since he was a child. He earned full marks in all subjects during school, because he learned most of it at home already. But Luo Fei studied astronomy, geography, military affairs, and history, which were relatively easy to hire teachers for. Mo Han is studying professional programming, so where did his tutor come from?

Could it be that there’s a more powerful master behind him?

Luo Fei frowned slightly, and asked Chongming to save all Mo Han’s information, and carefully looked at Mo Han’s photo in the information.

Chongming couldn’t bear it anymore and complained: “Master, have you really become a fan of Mo Han?”

Luo Fei smiled: “He is so good. Isn’t it normal for me to admire him?”

Chongming reminded weakly: “But he is an alpha.”

Luo Fei said: “I like him, it has nothing to do with whether he is an alpha or an omega. What I like is him, not his pheromones.”

Chongming: “…”

It makes sense!

Chongming found that it was actually persuaded by his master.

So, it began to actively help the owner to collect all the information related to Mo Han it could find, including news reports, photos at various activities, promotional videos, etc. As long as it was related to Mo Han, it would be downloaded to the storage space, and stored in a separate folder called “First Princess Archives”.

Luo Fei praised: “Sensible.”

Chongming said: “Master, Mo Han is a powerful hacker! I’m a little scared. If you are together in the future and he wants to hack into my system, what should I do?”

Luo Fei replied without hesitation: “Then you don’t resist, and let him invade obediently.”

Chongming: “………”

Luo Fei smiled and added: “Anyway, he won’t destroy your system. At most, he will study your code.”

Chongming activated hibernation mode and ignored its master.

It doesn’t want to pay attention to such an unprincipled master.

Soon it was two o’clock in the afternoon. Emil wanted to go to the leisure area, and Luo Fei accompanied him out of boredom.

The leisure area occupies the third floor of the entire spaceship. It is divided into different spaces such as food, entertainment, audio-visual, and games, and resembles a comprehensive shopping mall in the city. Many people were participating in various activities, and children’s laughter could be heard from time to time.

Luo Fei didn’t like such a lively scene very much. After walking around with Emil for a while, he happened to see a shopping street, so he turned around and walked over.

Emil followed him and asked, “Do you want to buy something?”

“En, a gift.” Luo Fei nodded.

Emil asked curiously, “Who are you buying it for?”

Luo Fei said, “To Mo Han.”

Emil: “………”

After recovering from the shock, Emil couldn’t help muttering: “Why are you buying Mo Han a gift? He’s so rich, he can buy everything he wants, right?”

Luo Fei said: “It’s up to him if he has money, but it’s up to me whether to give him a gift. It’s my first time inviting him to dinner; it’s not good to be empty-handed.”

Emil scratched his head and continued to mutter: “It’s not a date. Do you even need to bring a gift for a meal?”
