Chapter 375

Chapter 375: Officially

After constant hours of planning and fool-proofing their arrangements, Cain and Kimmy finally went ahead with their a simple wedding. As was agreed upon, they held their wedding at Evelyn’s house, and the two made sure that what few guests they invited were properly taken care of.

“Is everything all set?” Cain asked to the organizer they hired, already wearing a pressed tuxedo even as he fussed over the proceedings. “Is the officiator already here?”

“Yes,” the organizer nodded. “All of the catering’s situated in the kitchen, and the tables are already set by the yard.”

“And the pews?”

“Sir, didn’t we discuss against the fact?” the organizer reminded the stressed husband-to-be. “We don’t have the space for it, and Kimmy didn’t agree to downscale the other theming decorations.”

“Oh... right,” Cain clicked her tongue in both stress and annoyance. “Sorry about that.”

“It’s fine, sir,” the organizer smiled in understanding. “A lot of brides and grooms can get pretty stressed on the day of the wedding.”

.....

“Yeah,” the doctor chuckled, looking on at another part of the venue to where Kimmy was busy talking with some of the other workers and servers. “Kimberly’s still giving out orders in her wedding dress. Kind of sexy, now that I think about it.”

The organizer nodded at his words as Cain couldn’t help but stare at her wife-to-be. With the wedding dress hugging all her curves, the white laces just elevated her already gorgeous beauty. Even as she talked and directed at the catering service, her face still held an ethereal grace to her that he couldn’t help but look at her.

“She’s beautiful, sir,” the organizer complimented him. “You’re a lucky man.”

“I know,” Cain longingly sighed. “I’m already lucky to be alive today. I didn’t even think I’d be here to see the day.”

And wasn’t that a thought... He was almost ready to leave Kimmy for the rest of his life just to protect her from his own supposed vampirism. Hell, he practically crawled out from the dead just to be with her already. If anything, his luck was simply unbelievable.

“Well, you’re here now, sir,” the organizer smiled. “Just have to thank our lucky stars, no?”

“Yeah,” Cain nodded in agreement. “And speaking of that, the ceremony’s about to start.”

“That it is, sir,” the organizer nodded in kind. “I’ll be overseeing the proceedings then. I hope you have a good wedding.”

“And I wish you good luck to make it so,” Cain smiled. “Now if you’ll excuse me, I have a bride to be wed to.”

Giving their hired organizer one last nod, Cain went ahead to meet his bride. Walking through the small venue, he caught her just as she was finished talking with the caterers.

“Cain,” Kimmy nodded to him, a serious tone still clinging to her face. “Is everything up to standard with the main organizer?”

“It’s as well as it could be,” he promptly replied. “The only thing we have left to do is to wait out the clock.”

“I see,” she tersely hummed in acknowledgment. “We’ll just have to trust them to see to the guests.”

“It’s not like we have a lot, Kimmy,” Cain reminded her. “And we’ve kind of already done everything we can do.”

Hearing him, Kimmy sighed as her shoulders drooped. “I guess you’re right. All we can hope for is that everything goes on as planned.”

“Yeah...” she smiled. “It’ll just come down to that, huh...”

The two shared a smile as they stood in front of the aisle they were going to walk through in just a few moments. Already, the guests were filtering in, and Cain already spotted his family along with her mother waiting by the sidelines. A few more minutes later, the house felt even livelier as even more guests filtered in. The officiator was already in position, and the pair couldn’t help but feel a bit nervous and excited at the prospect of walking down the aisle.

“Well, I guess I should take my place,” Cain smiled at Kimmy. “I’ll see you down there in a bit, yeah?” 𝘧𝒓e𝑒𝑤e𝙗𝚗o𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝐜𝐨m

“Hmmm,” Kimmy warmly smiled. “I’m gonna look forward to kissing you up there.”

The two shared one more smile before they parted ways. Cain made his way to the front of the aisle, while Kimmy waited near the entrance, waiting for her cue to start walking.

Soon enough, the music kicked in. Almost immediately, the two felt butterflies fluttering in their stomach. Kimmy blushed furiously from her end of the aisle, while Cain couldn’t stop himself from smiling at the sight of his bride walking towards him. He knew that the crowd was smiling at them, but the world seemingly melted away as their focus shrank to only encompass each other’s presence.

“Kimberly...” he whispered to her as soon as she reached him. “You ready?”

“Yes...” she warmly smiled. “We’re finally getting married...”

“Yep,” Cain chuckled. “It’s still kind of unbelievable to think about.”

Kimmy nodded. “It’s just so surreal... thinking that I’m gonna be married to the love of my life.”

“Same,” he warmly smiled. “So, let’s get married.”

Sharing a nod, the couple then walked towards the makeshift altar. They didn’t know what to think, only that they’re about to get married to the love of their lives.

“Is there anyone here that would object to this couple’s union?”

The officiator’s voice barely registered in their ears. All they could do was wait as the proceedings went on in the background of their perception, their worlds only revolving around each other as they stared longingly at one another.

“You can now kiss the bride.”

Their eyes widened at what they just heard. Before they knew it, the wedding was officially over, and they now had to seal the deal, so to speak.

“Cain?” Kimmy smiled at him.

“Kimberly...” Cain whispered in kind.

Cupping his wife’s face, Cain moved in for a loving kiss. Kimmy melted into his arms, their life as husband and wife officially starting right at that moment.
