The building was futuristic, constructed with only materials from space. During day, it was translucent and in the night, it glowed with constellations in the sky. It contained lecture halls, libraries, solar gardens, research labs and a zero gravity stadium.

Instead of school buses, students were picked up and dropped off in pods. Lessons were delivered through holographic interfaces and robot butlers were common on school grounds. It was one of the few places in the world where they were allowed to operate.

For many, it was a dream to attend the school however the school itself had many rules. They took in no more than two hundred students a year from all over the world. Mingzhu had been squeezed in because of her blood.

Mei Mei, Feng Qi, Jingzhe and Mingzhu were told to leave their flying car behind and take a pod to the office of the school principal. As for Mo Liang, as soon as he identified himself, he was denied entrance into the school.

Seething, he called Tang Yue. "Isn’t it time for Hao to start school?"

Tang Yue was confused by two things, one was the question and the other was Mo Liang’s raised voice. When he left her bed that morning, he had been happy. What had happened in less than two hours to ruin his mood?

"I will start applying for schools next week. Hao needs to rest and get used to life on earth first but he is the national space baby, I am sure that every school in the world will invite him as soon as I announce that he is ready to start school."

Mo Liang slapped the door of the car. "Why not? The school nurtures talented talents, Hao is talented. He is the most famous child in the world. If that loser Mingzhu can get into The Chi Chi school, why can’t Hao? I will talk to the emperor about this."

He hung up before Yue reply and dialled the number royal secretary. The riyal family could send twenty students to The Chi Chi academy every year, surely they could find a spot for his son.

Mo Liang was determined to give his son all of the advantages he never got no matter what it took or who he stepped on. Of course, he could also get more bragging points if his son was there. It would be his son who got in through his efforts, not his daughter who was entitled because of her mother’s identity.

Meanwhile, Mei Mei and Mingzhu were led into Principal Su Manchu’s office. Mei Mei felt a tightening in her stomach and a strong desire to vomit and this was before she realized that there was more than one person in the office.

Her older sister Rose was there as well along with her daughter and son. As soon as Mei Mei set her eyes on them, her legs failed her.

Rose was the current CEO of the Phoenix group, her demeanor matched her position. She was always confident, decisive and frosty most of the time. After her mother, her older sister was the second disciplinarian of their house. No mischief got past Rose when they were growing up and she was arguably the worst baby sitter in the world because there was no having stupid fun on her watch.

Mei Mei pushed Mingzhu towards her cousins and then she raised her hands before taking slow steps in aunt Manchu’s direction. It was her intention to hide behind her aunt’s back to avoid the wrath of her sister.

"Aunt, don’t try to hide, it just makes it worse." Rose’s son Jang Ming said.

Rose’s daughter Jang Lian nodded. "Yes aunt Mei Mei, don’t make mommy chase you. It gets even worse when she chases you."

The little girl rubbed her buttocks, she recalled the beating she had received the previous evening for not doing her homework.

Rose opened her bag and revealed a brand new custom made furry sandal. "I had this made just for you, seven years ago."

"Aunt..." Mei Mei looked at her aunt for help.

Su Manchu looked away, she was not getting between the two sisters, especially not when Rose had a slipper. If anyone else from the family was around, they would make the same decision. Rose had a special slipper for everyone in the family, except the elders. But everyone from her parents generation and below had a slipper, if they made a stupid decision they had to duck for at least a week.

Even the great prime minister Chi Rui had to duck when Valentine’s day was almost banned in their nation. That slipper had been shot by one of his bodyguards.

Mei Mei gulped and she took a few steps backwards, she figured that if she could not hide behind her aunt, she could run out of the door. Mingzhu had been delivered to the school anyway.

As soon as she opened the door, Jingzhe entered and Rose hurled the slipper out like a professor baseball pitcher throwing a ball. Jingzhe was quick, he covered Mei Mei with his body and the slipper landed on his back before falling to the ground.

The three children gasped and principal Su Manchu buried her head in her hands and sighed.

"Lian, bring back my slipper." Rose ordered calmly.

The obedient little girl did as ordered. Rose was ready to aim again but Jingzhe pushed Mei Mei into the corner and covered her completely with his entire body.

"You, move." Rose ordered. She used her fingers to gesture for him to step out of the way. "This is between sisters, you are not invited to the party."
