Chapter 26
The other snow wolves didn’t sit still as he slew the others.
Their jaws snapped in empty air as Roy rolled away.
Like a cheetah, he pounced on the snow wolf that was all by itself.
The shadow of his 500 pounds body draped over it when he was meters away from it.
His sword shot out in a linear line. It was a blur to the Snow Wolf, but it jumped back instinctively. It thought it had dodged it, but the pain assaulting its senses and the fresh red blood on the tip of Roy’s sword told an entirely different story.
Its body slowly lowered to the ground. With a punctured heart, it didn’t have long to live. So it pounced on Roy again, saliva and blood dripping out its mouth. It tried to take him down with him. It had put all its dimming strength into this attack, but its target sent it flying backwards with a kick to the chest.
Its heart burst, signifying its end.
『Ding! You’ve killed a Level 7 Snow Wolf. You gained 70 EXP, +3 AGT』
Its sacrifice didn’t go to waste. From the very start, the snow wolf didn’t think Roy would go down with It. Its last-ditch effort was solely to stale him so that the other Snow Wolf would get him.
Before he noticed it, A snow wolf had reached infinitely close to him. If not for the tingling feeling in the back of his head, he would’ve never realized that his shoulder was under the threat of being a bit off by a wolf.
This snow wolf’s jaw didn’t snap in empty air.
Blood gushed out… but this blood… it didn’t belong to a human!
What the heck happened?
『Ding! You’ve killed a Level 8 Snow Wolf. You gained 80 EXP, +4 AGT』
This snow wolf died without knowing how. Roy had killed it by thrusting his sword behind him from under his armpits, straight into its wide-opened mouth. His sword had pierced the front of its skull and shot out from the back of its throat.
The sad part in all this was that on top of blood dirtying his robes, there was now a rip in his clothes.
Roy wasn’t as good with handling a swords as he thought.
‘I’ll have to trouble Amelia to sew it back to perfection.’
The snow wolves didn’t give him any chance to rest. Two attacked him from the sides. One attacked him from the front fearlessly. Roy let go of his sword. As it dropped, he kicked it with the full strength of a Level 6 body tempering trainee.
Whoosh!
It blasted through the air and smashed its head. Not only did its march come to a halt, and its head burst open, but it was also blasted towards a tree.
『You landed an overhead strike on the Snow Wolf. Extra damage was dealt to it. It lost 7 Health points. It has three Health Points left. Your attack inflicted it with the bleeding debuff. Every ten seconds, it would lose one HP.
It was bleeding profusely as its back smashed the tree.
Roy didn’t have time to give a damn about it. Two claws were inching close to his oversized body. His hands shot out. His agility was ten points higher than these wolves. He was far faster than them. He grabbed them by the necks.
Pop! Pop!
The unpleasant sound of bones shattering rang out. Their claws stopped inches away from him. By putting more force in his grip, Roy had twisted their necks mercilessly. It was either they died or him!
『Ding! You killed two Snow wolves of the fourth level with style. You gained 80 exp. You gained 100 additional EXP for killing them with style!』
“The stats of these wolves are ten or so points lower than me. It isn’t just them. Even trainees at the same level don’t have stats as high as mine. I’m far stronger than others at my level.”
They were around his level, but he still easily broke their neck because he was far stronger than them.
Roy’s stats were equal to a Level 10 beast, while they were merely at the second to the eighth level. They definitely didn’t stand a chance against Roy.
“What the… heck?”
He hadn’t dealt with all of the twelve wolves that had attacked him. A few of them were still left. But another group of wolves had come to reinforce them.
Roy’s expression lit up.
“Why am I fretting about this? They are free EXP for me! I should be happy seeing so many of them!”
Roy laughed and rushed ahead, grabbing his sword. He gave an eventful strike to the severely injured Snow Wolf that was in its last breath, killing it.
『Ding! You cruelly killed a Monster that was going to die in a few seconds anyway. You gained 90 EXP. You acquired the “Young Lord of Cruelty” Title. All your basic stats has increased by 1!』
That was quite unexpected. Roy didn’t think the system had the ability to bestow his special titles with effect. The title he got was blue in color, and it sounded impressive. He happily accepted it.
“Level up…”
『Ding! Congratulations on levelling up. You’ve reached the seventh level of the Body Tempering! 70% of the innate Aura behind your Gate has been used to temper your body. Your Physical conditions have improved significantly. You can now sense the World Energy! Your World Energy Sensitivity is at 10%.』
The seventh stage of Body tempering was the hardest to reach. Acquiring such a state was a dream of many, but how many have achieved it? At this stage, one can sense the World Energy. They can absorb it into their body, refining it into Aura. This Aura was used to charge supernatural skills that surpassed the norm! It can be said that at the Seventh Stage, one comes in contact with the supernatural for real!
『You gained 1 Stat point and 1 Skill point.』
“So far, I only had super strength, but now I can also use supernatural sword arts.”
He needed to learn one first!
“Come!” Roy taunted the snow wolves before running away. He hid behind a thick tree that was wider than himself. The snow wolves were sensory creatures. Their eyes were sharp, but their nose was even sharper. They were dependent on their nose. The good news for Roy was that the smell of blood in the air was so thick that it had masked his own scent. They didn’t know he was hiding behind a tree, just waiting for them to step out. Two rushed out from each side.
Whoosh!
A cold ray of light flashed in the air, moving from the East to the West.
Spurt!
Two snow wolves were beheaded under the cloudy sky, their blood splashing on the snow.
“Keek!”
“Yaah!”
Six more attacked him. But he knocked them into the air by slapping their hideous faces with the surface of his thick sword. 𝑓𝙧𝘦𝘦we𝘣𝙣𝘰𝘃𝗲l.com
Without stopping, he jumped up, following after them.
In mid-air, he used all his strength to make his body spin around. As his body moved, so did the gigantic 2-meter sword in his hand. It was swung around, its sharpness piercing through the thick flesh of the snow wolves and chopping them apart in two pieces.
They fell into the snow as their waist separated from their body.
Roy didn’t only gain a few hundred experience points for killing them but also gained an additional 200 EXP for killing them with style.
The thick scent of blood drew more and more snow wolves out of their hiding place.
He had no time to rest.
『Ding! Congratulations on advancing to the eighth level of the Body Refinement Realm!』
『Your World Energy Sensitivity has increased to 30%.』
『Ding! Congratulations on advancing up to the ninth level of the Body Refinement Realm!』
『Your World Energy Sensitivity has increased to 50%.』
『Ding! Congratulations on advancing to the tenth level of body tempering! Your World Energy Sensitivity has increased to 70%!』
『Your Aura Gate Has fully opened!』
『Your Health Point has increased to 10 points!』
『Your Strength has increased to 46 points.』
『Your Agility has increased to 38 points.』
『Your Stamina has increased to 42 points.』
After killing the 68th snow wolf, Roy successfully tempered his body to the peak.
“The speed at which I went from level 0 to level 10 is unparalleled. Forget about the county; if the geniuses of the Empire heard about my leveling up, they would smash their heads on the wall to commit suicide out of frustration. Killing monster is the best way to level up.”
Roy stood in the center of their corpses with a dozen snow wolves surrounding him.
He was alone, and they were plenty in number. Yet, the one afraid wasn’t him but the snow wolves. They were looking at him in fear like he was a Cyclopes. They were smart. They had proven it by repeatedly sneak attacking him and coordinating their attacks. They were equally proud, however. However, Roy had shattered their pride and made them fear him by killing dozens of their brethren. Now, they were afraid of him.
Roy’s eyes widened. He saw something unbelievable. The snow wolves tucked their tails between their legs and turned around to make a run for it.
“AWOOOOO!”
They hadn’t taken three steps when a howl reaching for the moon intimidated them to come to a stop.
Roy looked up, and his eyes narrowed.
“A bigger trouble has come….”
Reflected in his eyes was a 2 meter tall Snow Wolf Leader. Its fur was like snow. Its claws were like knives. Its teeth didn’t pale in comparison to a well-crafted blade. And its oppressive gaze was like a towering mountain that crashed on Roy’s back.
However, it failed to bend his knees.
