Chapter 425: Apna time aaega
"If you tell me where that bastard is hiding, and what he's planning in Harendale, I can give you a swift death, otherwise.."
"Bold words. But let's see if you can fulfil them first."
Amy was speaking when the leader interrupted her with a snort. His tone and attitude making it clear that neither her strength nor her threats made him fear her.
Perhaps if it was her brother, Rio, the blessed angel, maybe then he'd have a different expression. But for this little girl, _ humph, he didn't take it seriously at all.
After all, how can he, cause when she wasn't even born, he was already fucking 16 sexies like her with a single shot.
Men may not be the superior strength race in this world of fantasy, but that didn't change the pride and ego that came with having a dick. As a wiseman on twitter once said, Balls Breeds Bravery. And women don't have them.
(Cough cough definitely not my thoughts. I swear upon the heavens.) _ zrrrrrr ⚡… )
"As you wish." Amy said as she raised her hand, and with a twist of her fingers, she bent the space around her. The nearest follower stumbled, disoriented as the walls and floor warped, starting to twist in unnatural angles. Amy lunged forward, her invisible dagger flashing as she drove them into her opponent's chest, piercing his heart. The man gasped, his hands clawing at the air as he crumpled to the ground. Disbelief written all over his face.
Another follower attacked from behind, and Amy turned, her movements erratic but powerful. She swung her sword in a wide arc, the tinge of elemental mana enhancing it's edges. Her blade collided with the woman's weapon, shattering it with a burst of energy that sent the woman staggering back, blood dripping from a cut across her cheek.
"You know, I heard your brother's in Harendale too. Perhaps it's fate that both Blake siblings will die in our hands. End the story that began years ago."
"You dare…"
"He's going in the Eisher domain. I gotta say he's gutsy considering what happened the last time he entered a dungeon. Tsk tsk tsk, it'll be a real pity if he got trapped this time too, right."
"Tell me, if this dungeon crashed, _ can he survive, or will his good luck finally run out?"
The leader ignored the massacre of his teammates, he was entirely focused on taunting Amy, fueling her anger. Trying to disrupt her emotions and let her go mad.
At first he was just mocking her, trying to add fuel to her insecurities and weakness, hoping to overwhelm her with numbers and numb her down with enough adrenaline rush. As they say a warrior often loses himself in a war_ but hearing the sound of continuous explosions happening outside he could guess that the princess and her friends would soon wake up and come here too, so he upped his game.
Since he couldn't hit her self esteem in a short time, he simply started going after her soft side.
"You hear your friends struggling outside? They'll die too. Tell me, are you the legendary pig teammate? Cause every time you jump out, people around you pay the price. The last time it was your brother, and now these three."
"You don't have the guts to kill her. Not even your goddess would save your ass if you lay a hand on Becca."
"You're right. Perhaps. . But if our leader's plan works fine, maybe this kingdom won't have enough time to look for us. After all, will you put out the fire in your house first, or chase the one who lit it up?"
The leader's tone felt fully confident, and his relaxed expression making Amy doubt what Apate had planned that fooled these fools so much.
"What are you planning?" She couldn't help but ask. Her mind said out loud that things this time were perhaps much bigger than she thought.
Apate thrived in lies and deceit, unlike other gods she didn't get powers based on normal believers and belief. No, it was different for her. She got more power whenever people fell for her lies. The more chaos she ensued, the more treacherous her schemes, and the more people who fell for them_ all of that fuels her faith.
Like a God of death who thrives on death, and gets power from deceased souls. No matter if he killed them himself or not.
Conceptual gods were always more difficult to deal with than other fantastical or elemental ones.
"Hehehe, won't you like to know? But don't worry, I'll satisfy your curiosity… after I kill you."
The leader spoke in a teasing tone, first raising Amy's hopes before crushing them with a smile.
"Hum, you just made your death a million times more painful." Amy said disappearing from her place, wisp of red lingering in the air behind her. "I'll be sure to have you spill it all."
The mellow voice came from behind the leader, like a cold whisper of death, _but the leader of lies just smiled, suddenly turning around and tapping his finger on her forehead.
"Beep, and you're dead." He said, gently patting his finger again.
Blood dripped from Amy's forehead to her nose in a streak as the leader's finger got ripped and a nail resembling a monster's claw grew out and scraped her skin. Leaving a shallow cut.
Amy seemed to have been thrown into another illusion, her eyes blank and empty.
"Let's see if you can hide your element now." The leader said, and stepped back. His figure had half morphed into a demonic form. A small horn grew under the cape that hooded his head, as one of his hands turned animalistic filled with furs and claws, with his eyes glinting in an extreme yellow with bloody and black veins visible near the lids. "Is this really necessary? That skill of yours is of limited use type. Why waste it on her?"
"Goddess Apate said that if we can't force her to succeed, we can just kill her?" The woman from earlier came forward and spoke as she sharpened her dagger, ready to kill Amy while she was defenseless.
The leader raised his hand, grabbing her neck till his nails pierced her skin and then threw her back.
The woman staggered back as she tried to stop herself, a low hoarse growl escaping her throat as her wounds healed instantly. She glared at the leader, her eyes turning into dangerous slits.
But the leader just snorted and met her gaze without backing down.
"Your hole down there will only get you so far Gina. Gyandel isn't here to cover your ass, so don't forget your place. Goddess Apate gave me the lead, so if you don't wanna die, you'll better lay in line." The leader spoke, his tone mocking, filled with undisguised disgust.
His words made the girl grit her teeth, her chest heaving high and low as the levels of anger made her suffocate. But knowing that this bastard was mocking her to force her into making a move, so he can justifiably kill her, she just clenched her hands and forced her anger down.
Seeing that his provocation failed, the leader just clicked his tongue, "Go and hold back that princess and her maids. I'll handle her myself." He said and turned around without waiting for an answer.
"Humph, you've even shown her your true form, now if she lives, or somehow escapes to foil the goddess's plan,_ I'll be sure to rip your heart and gift it to Gyandel." The woman, Gina said coldly before stomping on the ground and leaving.
Gyandel, Gina, and Rhodes - these were the 3 of the favorite young people for goddess Apate. Talents whom she groomed personally and gave command of her cult to.
Years ago when Gyandel finished his mission to hunt down 30 elite talents first and became Apate's avatar, this had caused a rift in the trio who were as close as siblings otherwise. And later when, Gina and Gyandel got together secretly, it only fueled the jealousy of Rhodes even more.
Rhodes didn't care about Gina's threat and looked back at Amy, seeing the changing expression on her face, sometimes sad and sometimes angry, and then as the illusory shadow of chaos crown started flickering on her forehead _ a smile came to his face.
'See this Gyandel, the one whom you failed to kill, is now entirely at my mercy.'
'Goddess Apate, I'll soon finish my mission. Don't worry, I'll be sure to raise your glorious name even higher when you choose me tomorrow.'
Rhodes dreamed of the moment when he'd kill Gyandel and fuck Gina over his corpse, and become Apate's avatar afterwards. His thoughts filled with the dreams of a beautiful future ahead, not at all aware that the goddess whom he trusted so much was never known for being honest.
To Apate everything was for entertainment. And everyone was a puppet who danced over her whispers to make her laugh.
[Don't be so relaxed. Don't make any mistakes.]
Apate's words woke Rhodes up again, as he nodded his head hurriedly on the surface, but his heart still couldn't take Amy seriously at all.
"My time is coming soon." He said and smiled heartfully. (Apna Time Aaega)
