Chapter 21

Chapter 21: The Restless Lin Nana

This Thunderhorn Bull was clearly still a calf, only a meter long and at most at the middle stage of the early youth.

Even so, when it was in full rage, its head hung low, its arcing thunder horns facing forward, a pair of huge bull’s eyes bulging out, and its stubby hooves plowing the ground over and over again, ready to charge—the fear was overwhelming!

The blue-skirted girl covered her mouth and took some steps backward, her face full of cowardice.

“Big Brother… Big Brother He, it… it ran out!”

“Oh no!” said He Fan, his legs wobbling and shaking, panicking briefly and immediately coming back to his senses. “Nana, come on, let’s climb up the tree!”

His voice was urgent, and just as he finished his sentence, he grabbed the blue-skirted girl and pushed her hard up the tree, pulling himself and scurrying up the bark.

The two had just climbed three or four meters when the Thunderhorn Bull crashed over with a boom, its arched horns viciously opening two large holes in the trunk of the tree, and the entire tree shook continuously.

“Ah!” Lin Nana exclaimed, almost falling off in shock.

“Steady, Nana, you must hold on. If you fall, you’re done!” cried He Fan, holding his shoulder up against the blue-skirted girl’s heel and hanging his head low.

Boom… boom…

The Thunderhorn Bull gasped, backing up, accelerating the charge, backing up, and accelerating its charge over and over again…

The tree, which two people could only surround, was soon overwhelmed and half-broken, slowly toppling forward.

“I can’t. I can’t hold on. The tree’s going to fall!” cried Lin Nana sobbingly.

“Nana, don’t be afraid. I’ll count down from three, and we’ll jump down together and run for the dense forest on the right!” In his panic, He Fan still maintained a trace of sanity. “The Thunderhorn Bull has lost a lot of strength. We still have a chance to escape, so don’t give up. Do you hear me clearly?

“Three, two, one, jump!”

The dozen-meter-tall tree fell with a crash, and the man and woman fell to the ground, rolling over several times in a mess.

Fortunately, the large tree fell between the Thunderhorn Bull and the two, temporarily blocking the Thunderhorn Bull’s advance.

He Fan glanced back and instantly raised his eyebrows in great joy, immediately pulling Lin Nana to one side of the grove.

“Moo!”

The yellow-bodied Thunderhorn Bull suddenly stomped, stepping on the air and soaring two or three meters, crossing the obstacle at once, and even further closing the distance between it and the man and woman.

“Another Air Step. It has just learned it, and can use it continuously. This Thunderhorn Bull is quite gifted…” Bai Wushang, who was hiding in the shadows, commented silently, and despite his compliments, he had no thoughts to step in to help the two, nor did he intend to try to subdue this Thunderhorn Bull.

There’s no need to rush. It’s only the first day. I still have plenty of time to pick a better pet… As for this Thunderhorn Bull, in the end, it’s still a bit weak. If it was a late-stage youth form, maybe I’d have my heart set on it. A mid-stage youth form… forget it. 𝑓re𝘦𝔀𝗲𝘣𝘯𝘰νℯ𝒍.c𝗼m

Quietly standing up, Bai Wushang intended to slip away.

He’d watched five minutes of good drama, and it was about time.

As for whether or not the pair could successfully escape, Bai Wushang personally judged that it was a bit uncertain. After all, bringing a woman who was dragging her feet would increase the difficulty exponentially.

“Ah! Nana, what are you yanking me for!”

Just as he turned and took two steps, a startled cry came from the man in gray from behind him.

Pure curiosity got the better of him, and Bai Wushang glanced back again.

But he saw that the blue-skirted girl yanked the hem of the man in gray running at her side and pushed him slightly, and the fast-running man in gray lost his balance, and instantly fell to the ground.

“Moo!”

Like a small moving mountain peak, wrapped in a monstrous rage, the Thunderhorn Bull did not hesitate to slam into the man in gray, hitting between his chest and stomach.

The man in gray let out a scream and spurted a large mouthful of blood wildly, covering his stomach and curling up on the ground, twitching.

At the moment of life and death, he twisted his head with difficulty, and his two densely bloodshot eyes looked incredulously at the blue-skirted woman’s increasingly distant figure, following with increasing dullness.

“Nana… you… you actually… betrayed me…”

The man in gray closed his eyes in pain, and with his last strength, he crushed the distress talisman hidden in his waist and completely passed out.

A milky white semi-circular shield of light appeared, wrapping him firmly in place.

After the Thunderhorn Bull tried to hit it twice and found that the white light shield did not move at all, it turned its blood-stained horns towards the blue-skirted woman who had fled far away, and ran after her wildly.

Witnessing all of this, Bai Wushang frowned deeply.

This woman is so vicious. The man in gray had been sympathetic and taking care of her, but at the critical moment, she actually betrayed her teammate for survival!

Bai Wushang was disgusted with such a woman from the bottom of his heart. Under the pretty face, a heart like a scorpion and a snake was hidden. It was truly disgusting.

However, within a minute or two, a mentor appeared on a flying pet, first casting a great healing spell to fix the man in gray’s injuries, and then dragging him away on a special stretcher to transport him.

Watching this mentor disappear into the air as a black dot, Bai Wushang shook his head sadly, and continued exploring the forest.

10 minutes later, somewhere along the path of the forest.

Bai Wushang had just picked a rosemary when he suddenly noticed a noise ahead of him from a distance, and hastily lifted his head to watch.

A disheveled blue-skirted woman was seen running wearily towards him, with a yellow creature chasing her in the distance.

Am I seeing things? How come I’m seeing her again???

For a brief moment, Bai Wushang suspected that he was dreaming. He had just changed his direction before advancing, deviating greatly from the path the blue-skirted woman had disappeared.

It’s really her! The Thunderhorn Bull actually hasn’t caught up with her yet, but she instead has run a big circle and come around to my side…

Bai Wushang cursed, looking irritated, and turned his head towards the other side of the woods, not wanting to have any encounter with the blue-skirted woman at all.

“Help! Help!”

Lin Nana saw from afar that there was actually a figure in front of her, and she who had felt despair physically and mentally had a rush of another ounce of energy, speeding up her steps, and chasing after that person with her life.

Bai Wushang ignored her, and hurriedly picked up his pace.

“Don’t run away… please… help me…” Lin Nana cried as tears stained her face, her voice as pitiful as could be. ƒ𝓇e𝙚𝔀𝐞𝚋𝓃𝐨𝘷e𝙡.𝒄𝗼m

Bai Wushang remained unfazed, and even began to run at full speed.

As he was an autonomous awakener, his soul power was among the highest of all the students, and his physical quality was also among the highest, so he quickly shrugged off the blue-skirted woman.

Lin Nana didn’t understand why the man was ignoring her, or how he could run so fast!

Her body was exhausted, her brain was starting to run out of oxygen, and she was losing the ability to think properly.

Even so, Lin Nana was still unwilling to crush the distress talisman just like that; she didn’t want to lose so badly.

The sound of the bull’s ragged breathing behind her grew closer and closer, and under that great fear of life and death, Lin Nana once again broke through her body’s limits, and forcibly sped up to catch up along the direction where Bai Wushang had disappeared.

On the other side, Bai Wushang ran and stopped abruptly, his expression looking as uncomfortable as if in constipation.

Up ahead, it was a dead end…
