Chapter 193: From the Other’s Perspective 2 (5)

Chapter 193. From the Other’s Perspective 2 (5)

However, Kaozinta’s words failed to reach Vulcan’s ears.

That was because the loud clamoring sound of the energy of the depth lightning sword, moving fast towards him, has absorbed his voice.

Of course, Kaozinta did not have a moment to assess whether his vulgar words have reached its target or not, at all.

What was important to him was just how in the world he could evade the danger which was about to strike him.

And fortunately, Kaozinta was able to come up with an idea.

Shoowook.

After opening the door which he, himself, closed, Kaozinta quickly went out of the boss room.

When his quick hand was just about finished closing the boss room’s door, Vulcan’s depth lightning sword exploded with great power with a loud sound, and completely destroyed the place where Kaozinta was standing.

Kwaaaaaang!

However, the boss room’s interior and exterior spaces were completely separated.

As a result, Vulcan’s attack had regrettably failed to incur any damage on Kaozinta.

‘So close, one shot was all I needed.’

Of course, his disappointment wasn’t all that great, though.

Vulcan was already confident of his skill, after having annihilated countless true demons of Naraka.

Although the time that he had just faced with Kaozinta was very brief, he wasn’t able to assess his level, but irrespective of that, Vulcan was sure that he could overpower him in this combat.

It was just that it was going to be a nuisance to be chasing after Kaozinta who was sure to be on the run from now on.

‘Well, though that wouldn’t be too difficult, either.’

His activity area has already been expanded, such that he was, now, able to go anywhere, except to the city of Naraka.

No matter how fast he was, he wouldn’t be as fast as to get away from him and reach the city.

Having thought that, Vulcan tried to go out of the boss room after drinking a potion made by Powell, in order to replenish the depleted magic power because he used the depth lightning sword.

However, there was no need to do that, anymore.

Click.

The true demon Kaozinta.

That was because he has reentered the boss room, after reopening the door

“…….”

Looking at Kaozinta who was engulfed by dark light, due to the high concentration of incredibly pure evil energy, Vulcan was lost for words.

The same Kaozinta’s combat posture, of about 100 years ago, which he had not seen until now, made his stomach turn.

The terrible murderous energy that was spewing out from it and his belligerence overwhelmingly stoked Vulcan’s senses.

Kaozinta had on an unbelievable, pompous attitude for someone who has witnessed his depth lightning sword, at a close range.

Seeing the excitement on Kaozinta’s face as if he had finally met a worthy opponent of his life time, Vulcan felt a sense of respect or something similar, for the first time.

The bastard’s level after verifying through scan ability was 1,443.

It wasn’t certain as to where he had trained, but he has gotten stronger than before. Still, he was one level below Vulcan, and Kaozinta knew that, too.

Kaozinta’s shivering eyes as his eyes met Vulcan’s told that situation.

‘Still….Despite that fact, that bastard has come back in to the boss room. Even clearly knowing that he is weaker…Phew. Something’s making me feel a bit surprised.’

As he has been fighting against only those whom he could defeat by utilizing the system’s scanning capability, Kaozinta’s action has come as a bigger surprise to him.

Vulcan hardened his expression as he looked at Kaozinta.

He felt the intention of wanting to crush his skull when he looked at Kaozinta who was staring at him with fiery eyes.

What words would be needed, now that he was already fully prepared to fight the opponent.

Vulcan nodded once, approving of Kaozinta for having decided to fight rather than to run, he summoned energy, like Kaozinta.

Pazzzzz.

Whirrrrrl.

Boo-wooooong.

Instantly, Vulcan summoned up the thunder energy, arrival of the hell king, and the house of demon god.

The resulting energy was so powerful even for Kaozinta, who has faced countless devils and true demons during his long life time, that he felt it was the first time he had seen such power.

The difference in powers was such that it wouldn’t surprise anyone even if Kaozinta was to fall into despair as soon as he encountered Vulcan.

However, there was no such sign, at all.

Instead, he bumped his fists together as he put on a big smile as if to say that he couldn’t be any happier to have met such a powerful opponent.

Seeing that, Vulcan raised up the energy level of the hell sword, and as fast as he could, he rushed towards Kaozinta.

Papaat.

The speed was so fast, even for the space contraction skill.

However, Kaozinta’s excellent visual acuity was able to catch on to Vulcan’s movements.

He readied himself to launch a counter attack, by injecting darker demon energy on his left arm, against Vulcan who drew a large circular line as he approached from the left side.

However, such effort by Kaozinta was futile.

Pazz.

Pazzzzz.

In no time, Vulcan changed his direction to his left, showing no constraining effect from the gravity and inertia.

Seeing Vulcan do that, Kaozinta ground his teeth.

That unforeseeable movement which he had encountered once before, in the past!

Approximately 100 years ago in Naraka time, he had a tough time eliminating Vulcan just because of that one technique, even though he was more advanced than Vulcan in every aspect.

‘However, now, I’m on the weaker side in every aspect.’

He smiled bitterly as he visually chased after Vulcan who was moving quickly from the air to the ground, from left to right.

Fortunately, he was able to catch up with Vulcan’s movements, but that won’t last long.

If, and just for once, he was to lose his focus and lose Vulcan’s whereabouts, it was most likely that Vulcan will deliver a very powerful strike.

‘And at that moment, my chance of winning will be almost zero, then. Hm, I thought he did become stronger, but did not expect him to rise to a level above me.’

Kaozinta has completely accepted the fact that he was now clearly a level below Vulcan.

However, regardless of that, his belligerence did not falter.

That wasn’t because there was some particular reason.

He has always been that way even before he was accepted as the master of the rare article, the crown of the true demon.

Irrespective of Rubleyana, irrespective of circumstances and time, he always lived with the fighting spirit which was about to explode like that of a volcano, and he had approached combats with a winning attitude, and belief in himself.

Of course, though he was, now, accepting the fact that he has fallen behind…..

‘Life or death is a separate issue from that. All right, go at the full speed from the get go!’

Kaozinta showed a resolute demeanor as if he had come to a decision.

Dark demon energy spewed out of his body, and its darkness couldn’t be compared to any occasion up to now.

The concentration was so thick that it would not be an exaggeration to say that if it was to be diluted, it would easily cover up a single comet.

That horrifying demon energy slithered slowly as if it was alive, and soon, it formed a spherical shape then swallowed up Kaozinta in whole.

Complete contrast to Vulcan’s brightly shining sword, Kaozinta blackened as if his demon energy was going to absorb every bit of light from the vicinity.

Vulcan’s demeanor changed to being very serious after seeing that.

He felt the danger that was stronger than any other demon energy which he has faced in Naraka, until now.

That was because he was feeling the pressure of the terrible power of death energy which was about to burst out into a wide area.

It was the sense of being which Kaozinta could not have possibly created at his level!

Having seen that, Vulcan knew that he had ascertained this power by accepting some great, potential penalty, in return for something.

Perhaps, something to the effect of giving up flesh or bones.

That was, at the thought of how single minded Kaozinta was as he went after the foe’s hearts, even at the cost of losing his arms and legs, Vulcan shivered as goose bumps covered him.

It was so fearsome that he felt his whole body was being suffocated by the barrier in his mind which he thought he had overcome.

‘……First, a way to dodge.’

Hence, instead of facing Kaozinta’s skill head on, Vulcan chose another method to dodge the dangerous moment.

He was going to use the same exact skill which Kaozinta had shown him earlier against him.

Fortunately, that terrible force has not been completed, yet.

If he was able to get away from the boss room for a second before that exploded, he would be able to dodge, what seemed to be, Kaozinta’s final and terrible attack without any damage.

After that, all he had to do was to push Kaozinta to the limit as he would have depleted much of his energy.

‘Kaozinta is unaware of my ability to go out of the boss room, being a monster, so it should work 100 percent. It will definitely work if I use the dragon dash to go around….’

However, after thinking this far, Vulcan suddenly cringed and looked dumbfounded as if he has been hit on the back of his head with a blunt object.

The fact that he was about to run away as the circumstances have turned unfavorable to him.

The detestability that came from it overwhelmed him.

‘Dumb bastard, can only think like this after seeing Kaozinta!’

He couldn’t help self-admonish, no matter how fast the situation was moving.

What the heck was that!

Kaozinta, who Vulcan thought had weaker combat power, was demonstrating his audacity to fight by giving 120 percent, yet Vulcan, who was certainly above Kaozinta, was only thinking about how to get away from this situation.

He briefly felt detestable, thinking how pathetic he was acting.

Of course, by using this method, he would easily be victorious in this battle.

Perhaps, he would be able to defeat Kaozinta, who was believed to be the last true demon of Naraka, and it would even be possible to complete ‘the ruler of Naraka’ quest.

‘However, is there any value….in the victory by doing that….?’

At the precarious moment, he fell into a deep thought, even forgetting about the very dangerous battle at hand.

It wasn’t just the matter of saving face as someone above another, or honor.

His purpose was not just being victorious in this single battle, rather it was endless growth.

The true objective was to reach the highest point of both lightning and fire.

And in order to get there, rather than just looking at the immediate situation’s outcome, looking far out in the future was what was truly necessary.

There were times when more difficult road must be chosen over an easy one.

Grrrrrrit.

Vulcan closed his mouth so tightly that it made gritting noise.

Throwing out the idea of going out of the boss room, he stood firm in his place.

He even gave up on the dragon dash.

It was because there was no way to dodge the, soon to be widely launched attack of Kaozinta.

‘Still, it is not going to be easy to go through it even if his skill is not complete. Then there is only one way.’

Whirrrl.

Pzzzzzz.

Vulcan summoned up the hell sword energy to the level that could not concentrate much higher.

And he focused most intensely.

And he worked hard in order to overlap the energy of volcano explosion.

It could be seen as the most powerful single move he has ever made, up to now.

It was for the purpose of using the depth lightning sword.

Of course, doing so wasn’t easy.

The great demon sphere which was about to swallow him up at once was in front of him.

It was observing him like the serpent’s eyes, so it would be even stranger for him to be able to focus under these circumstances.

On top of that, Vulcan’s depth lightning sword was a skill which boasted a high level of difficulty that often ended in errors in plain environment where there existed no hurdles.

Naturally, he was feeling so much psychological pressure from it all.

‘However, I have to do it!’

Vulcan decided once again.

He could no longer step backwards.

Fortunately, he was able to come up to this level, thanks to the system’s generous capabilities and talent, but he could no longer have weak thoughts if he wanted to rise to the occasion.

No, that wasn’t sufficient.

Like the hell fire which gulped up everything.

And like the heavenly lightning that ripped up everything.

Vulcan raised his sword, in order to become the cruel, violent being that will destroy everything before his eyes.

And he looked at Kaozinta, his foe, who was inside the black sphere.

He couldn’t see him clearly as he was being shielded by the demon energy.

However, just at a glimpse of his lips, Vulcan could see how much Kaozinta was enjoying this moment.

‘Surely, what do I look like, at this juncture.’

Was he smiling like Kaozinta?

Or was he shaking like a scared little child?

Thinking the former demeanor would be better, Vulcan overlapped the energy of volcano explosion, which was the last piece of the puzzle, on top of the hell sword.

Then at the fastest pace that he could generate, he swung the lightning sword of the thunder.

Kwakwakwaaaaaa!

Vulcan spewed out incredulous energy made up of fire and lightning.

And after grinning, Kaozinta released horrifying demon energy which was second to none.

Their skills crashed at the center of the boss room and although the forces dissipated after their individual skill’s forces was demonstrated for a brief moment, the aftereffects of that event was unbelievably powerful.

The power was so strong that the interior of the dungeon, which was being protected by a demon god, has crumbled and was left in a total mess.

Naturally, Vulcan and Kaozinta took damages as they were at the center of it all, and screaming in pain, each was flown back to the walls in the opposition directions of each other from the impact.

Kwang!

Kwaaang!

Both Vulcan and Kaozinta fell to the ground as if they have lost all their strengths.

“…..”

“…..”

They lied on the ground of the desolate boss room for a while without any movements.

It was like both of them were dead, and the battle has ended in a draw, with no clear winner or loser.

However, that wasn’t the case.

One of them, although both seemed to be dead, moved up and down slightly, and power was slowly getting restored at his finger tips.

He eventually made powerful fists, and as he gasped for air and breathed harshly, he raised his upper body with the iron will then raised his lower body.

Then he walked towards his opponent’s fallen body by using the sword as his staff.

He has finally become the victor of this battle.

“Phew, phew.”

Still breathing harshly, Vulcan looked down on Kaozinta who was fallen at his feet.

A slight sense of frustration came over him, and passed.
