Chapter 362 - : Mimira

Chapter 362: Chapter 362: Mimira

Li Yao made himself comfortable and said, “I dare not eat, else you might charge me a gold coin per bite. That would be quite a loss for me.”

The goblin smiled awkwardly, pulled back the honey roast meat he was about to hand over, and said, “Everything in this world has a clear price. Mimira is an honest and considerate merchant, and I assuredly won’t swindle you like that.”

Indeed, just as Li Yao had speculated, the goblin would have charged him if he had eaten the roast meat.

“Really? I have never seen what a conscientious goblin looks like.” Li Yao laughed, “But even if your price is low, I dare not eat.”

Mimira stiffened and responded with a forced smile, “And why is that?”

“Did you notice what liquid you sprinkled on the meat when you saw me coming?” Li Yao asked, a smile playing at his lips.

“Ahem, honey roast meat, naturally I drizzled it with honey.” Mimira began to sweat profusely.

“Original honey, huh? It’s a shame I don’t fancy sweet things, else I would have definitely tried your craftsmanship. I’ve heard that only those who travel all day truly understand the essence of gourmet food.” Li Yao spoke regretfully, as if he had missed out on an unparalleled treasure.

“That’s truly unfortunate. Next time, next time I will let you taste my cooking for free.” Mimira sighed in relief and aimlessly stuffed the roast meat back into his bag.

However, the reality was different. The Fire Hawk clearly saw that what Mimira used was not honey, but a potion labeled with some kind of a sleep-inducing agent.

“Then that’s settled.” Li Yao burst into laughter, “The goblin’s motto is that ‘time is money and all can be priced’. I won’t waste your time, do you have any good merchandise for me to see?”

“Uh, sorry. I’m on delivery this time, carrying just ordinary items. You are unlikely to be interested, and I can’t sell them. Although I prefer higher profits, we goblins maintain good faith with all and don’t go back on a settled deal.” The goblin was evidently tempted, but still refused Li Yao.

Goblins are a peculiar species of intelligent beings who are purely driven by profit. Their creed is that as long as the price is right, they can sell even their own mothers and wives.

Before a deal, they will employ all means to seek gain, but weirdly, once a deal or contract is made, even if they find out that they have been short-changed, the goblins will bite the bullet – they will faithfully fulfil the contract to the letter.

In their eyes, contracts and deals are sacred, and this honesty forms their bottom line.

Their integrity is also one of the reasons why other races of the Dark Camp tolerate the goblins.

“That is truly regrettable.” Li Yao slowly stood up, grabbing his half-moon bow, and then he released an arrow.

Delivery Robot

“Why did you attack?” Mimira exclaimed in horror. Despite his higher level, instead of wanting to counter-attack and shatter his attacker, his first instinct was to run away, to a safe haven.

“Since you won’t sell any good stuff, what use do I have for you?” As Li Yao spoke, he continued to attack, even unleashing the Arrow Tower.

The original plan was to kill Mimira and obtain the blueprints and an item. He had spotted Mimira’s ill intent from the start but didn’t take action immediately, hoping to see if Mimira could refresh some special items.

However, Mimira had claimed he had none. Since he didn’t find Mimira on the roadside, Mimira must be on his way somewhere. So, there was no need to be polite with him. Killing him would make all goods his.

In order to obtain other blueprints, Mimira must die since he refused to sell those to Li Yao.

“Kill this despicable elf.” Hiding behind a large tree, Mimira finally drew a fire gun.

But hiding was to no avail. Li Yao’s tricky ricochet arrows were impossible to dodge.

Moreover, the Arrow Tower was now launching Pierce Arrows, which could directly pierce through the large tree, unimpeded.

The Delivery Robot looked just like the Cornfield Puppet but had lots of baggage on it, apt for its title.

On his master’s command, the Delivery Robot rushed towards Li Yao. But the Fire Hawk swooped down.

The Fire Hawk took flight after grabbing the robot with a Hawk Pouncing on the Rabbit move.

Bang…

After flying a distance, the Fire Hawk violently let go. The Delivery Robot collided with a large tree, causing it to break with a creaking sound.

The Delivery Robot crashed onto the ground, making a dent, and glared at the Fire Hawk taking flight again. However, it didn’t have any means of attacking the Fire Hawk.

Mimira grew furious, ordered an attack, and began shooting.

But Li Yao unleashed Rapid Shooting. If it had been any other job’s boss, he would have been cautious. But as it turned out, Mimira used gun ammunition, which allowed Li Yao to have a head-on confrontation, deflecting all bullets with his arrows.

“Damn you, what kind of monster are you?” Raging, Mimira was on the brink of madness. Save for his Arrow Rain that made Li Yao dodge, none of his skills could touch Li Yao, who attacked faster than him. Although he had a high health pool, he couldn’t keep up with the constant decrease.

“Fighting me with a gun, that’s the path to self-destruction.” Li Yao tirelessly attacked in place.

“Argh, I’ll fight you to the death.”

Mimira let out a desperate cry. It was as if Li Yao were the boss and he was just a pawn.

He released Arrow Rain again. While Li Yao dodged, he turned and ran away at full speed.

Flames burst out from under his feet, enabling him to quickly dart through the woods.

The Delivery Robot that was fighting the Fire Hawk suddenly leaped, landing beside Mimira, who immediately leaped onto the robot.

The Delivery Robot’s body emitted a high-pitched motor sound, as it carried Mimira away at a blinding speed.

At this moment, Mimira’s health was barely at 70%.

Instead of panicking, Li Yao sounded a whistle. The Fire Hawk let out a cry in the sky, its eyes locked onto the quickly disappearing Delivery Robot and Mimira.

Li Yao, meanwhile, summoned the mechanical vehicle, started its engine, and chased after them…
