Chapter 806 - : The Strong Ones Go to War

Chapter 806: Chapter 806: The Strong Ones Go to War

Now Starfire faced a choice, what to do.

After such a long battle, they had become accustomed to taking full advantage of the Shard; so far, the Starfire Legion had almost no losses.

“Do we also have to charge into battle like them?”

But how could that be possible? Although they were elite, they were only relatively superior to players, not to mention facing the Lizard-Man Army, even against the legions of Lizard players they didn’t have much advantage.

Everyone was reluctant, waiting for Li Yao’s decision.

From the battle till now, Li Yao had been strategizing behind the scenes, seemingly in control of everything. It was under his planning that they seized the upper hand and earned a massive amount of military exploits.

“All Shards, ascend and cease fire,” Li Yao decisively gave the order.

He had also overlooked the issue and even forgot about the problem of ammunition, but his thoughts quickly turned, and he had a new plan.

Although the Shards were running low on ammunition, it was not that they were useless.

Li Yao looked over the battlefield, shaking his head slightly. If the battle went on like this, not to mention an hour, they might not be able to take the Flesh and Blood Altar even in a day.

But they only had one hour left, otherwise, it would be Undercity that was in danger.

Even though Undercity’s defensive power was strong, the Queen’s temperament would never allow her capital to be threatened.

“Big brother, what do we do now?” Dumbfounded but with morale high, she was incredibly excited. She was taking part in such an epic battle, whereas her peers were still playing the cartoon version on Neutral Continent.

“I already have a preliminary plan; I’m going to consult the mentor now.”

Li Yao explained and then picked up the shell, took a deep breath, and said, “Mentor, this approach will not work. We will not be able to destroy the Flesh and Blood Altar in an hour.”

The Queen, not known where she was, replied, “Oh? Do you have a proposal?”

Not just Li Yao, but several key leaders had realized this. However, the Queen’s authority was so heavy that they couldn’t get a word in edgewise.

Just now, several of them wanted to take the opportunity to curry favor with the Queen to learn from Li Yao, but not only did they fail to ingratiate themselves with the Queen, they ended up being disliked by her so much that they finally remembered the Queen’s reputation—arrogant, aloof, and unsociable.

Many were speechless, wondering what Li Yao had done to catch the attention of such a Queen, but more were filled with envy.

Just from one sentence, many could tell the difference. Those who wanted to butter up the Queen had their speaking rights blocked straight away, whereas when Li Yao spoke, it wasn’t so brusque, and the Queen was even asking Li Yao for his opinion.

“Dammit, others just said the attack wasn’t working and got scolded for it, with a ‘Can’t I see that myself?’ making that poor guy blush with embarrassment. But when the same issue is raised by him, the response is totally different.”

“Why is the gap between people so huge?”

Players who possessed a communication shell were filled with envy, hate, and jealousy, wishing that Li Yao would slip up and anger the Queen instead.

They had no idea that Li Yao’s words were taken seriously by the Queen because of the numerous seemingly impossible tasks he had completed.

“I was planning on having a few Shards pave the way for the elite troops, but I realized I overlooked something. The Shards are low on ammunition; they can’t sustain an offensive to reach the Flesh and Blood Altar.”

“Never mind the reasons, I just want to know if you have any suggestions, to see if they’re similar to what I’m thinking,” the Queen interrupted Li Yao.

“I think we can use six Shards as troop transport ships, attacking the Flesh and Blood Altar directly. The Shards don’t have much ammunition left, but there’s still some, and bombarding the surrounding area to clear it isn’t a problem,” Li Yao laid out his plan.

“Then try it,” the Queen paused before adding, “This is now your responsibility.”

Li Yao got exactly the response he was waiting for; he was ready to open a new battlefield.

All the players listening to the conversation were even more envious and resentful. Damn it, how could this work?

They couldn’t understand how Li Yao found it so easy to talk with the Queen, and how such a big issue was directly entrusted to him, while they faced reprimand for even trying to speak.

Li Yao had no concern for their feelings and continued, “Now I want to open a second front and need the support of an army. The specific situation is that I will be responsible for transporting troops to the center of the city, then use artillery fire to blast a foothold, and the supporting army must occupy that foothold and push straight to the heart.”

“Isn’t this sending us to our deaths?” a guild leader muttered.

Li Yao shook his head and said, “This is not mandatory. If you think it’s a suicide mission, you do not have to go.”

“Our legion is willing to participate,” Flaming Red Lips declared.

“And us.”

“Our legion too, Prairie Fire brothers, you must count us in.”

Suddenly, there were voices of those eager to join, and many who had reacted slowly also came around.

While Li Yao’s method seemed dangerous, it also offered a huge opportunity. If successful, the queen’s promised reward—damn, suddenly everyone began to express their interest in participating.

Especially the first guild leader who had grumbled about it being suicidal was green with regret, as Li Yao directly excluded his legion.

He cried injustice and sought the queen’s intervention, only to be blocked by a lady-in-waiting and left without any right to speak.

No one paid any mind to this tragedy and instead got cozy with Li Yao.

“Look, each army has its elite forces. Based on the legion’s rank, we can prepare a force of fifty to a hundred thousand. I will start by deploying a portion of the Undead Legion to seize the field and ensure absolute security.”

Only then were the people satisfied, as they all understood that if they wanted to earn the queen’s reward through an outer assault, it was nearly impossible.

So even though many of them looked down on Li Yao, or were unwilling or dissatisfied, or even hated him, faced with such tremendous benefits, they all suppressed their emotions and flattered Li Yao.

They did this to ensure that Li Yao would deploy their forces at the right time.

Several shards quickly sprang into action, and the Lizardmen soon saw the plan, but they were utterly helpless and could only watch as Starfire hit their firepower and then deploy the legion.

Because of a thousand powerful Banshees, deploying the legion was much easier.

The artillery shells bombarded, and then the Banshees teleported the troops down. Soon, new frontlines formed around the Flesh and Blood Altar, and hordes of Lizardmen desperately tried to annihilate them.

But the Starfire Army kept sending troops incessantly to the Flesh and Blood Altar, causing high-ranking Lizardmen to panic.

They never expected that the city shard could cause such a catastrophe.

Even though they had every advantage, even when victory seemed assured, these same people turned the tide of battle twice in a row.

Whoosh…

A Lizardman, his body engulfed in red flames, soared into the sky, dragon wings unfurling from his back, floating in the Void.

Like an artillery shell, he charged toward No. 1 Shard, bombarded by a barrage of fire.

Some artillery shells exploded on him, but to no avail.

His figure was blasted back, but he quickly made another dash towards No. 1 Shard.

“Undead Queen, I know you’re commanding the battle. Dare you come out for a fight?” The Lizardman’s voice thundered across the battlefield like rolling thunder, drowning out all other sounds of combat.

Boom…

An arrow, like a meteor, streaked across the sky and struck the Lizardman, who reacted quickly to block it with his greatsword, but the arrow’s force was so strong that it sent him flying hundreds of yards away.

“Why use a butcher’s cleaver to kill a chicken? You’re not qualified to challenge the master,” Long Bow said as he rushed into the sky, followed by a sharp whistle. Suddenly, a small sun appeared from nowhere…
