Chapter 731 - Don't Worry, I'm Here For You

Old Man Xian stood in front of the Old Woman's husband's tombstone with his cane. He stared at the tombstone silently and sighed softly, "Old Wan, even though I kowtow to you, do you dare to accept it? Xing Jia doesn't know about it. It's just that I don't want her to feel that the people around her are too preposterous. You know very well what you did that time."

In the distance, in the guard post outside the cemetery,

Mrs. Qin was talking to the guard about the current price of the cemetery in G City. She was sighing at the fact that the price of the cemetery was more expensive than some of the houses in the city.

Out of the corner of her eye, she saw the Old Woman walking slowly. She hurriedly stood up and stepped forward to support her. "Mom."

Mrs. Qin knew that her mother was unwilling to meet Old Man Xian. She looked over the Old Woman's shoulder at the cemetery. When she saw that he was still standing there, she said, "He …"

"Don't worry about him, let's go back." The Old Woman did not even look at Old Man Xian as thunder roared in the sky, "It's going to rain soon. Let's go back to the car and go home early. Didn't Qianqian also return? I'm going to see the child."

Mrs. Qin wanted to say something, but seeing that the Old Woman didn't want to say anything about Old Man Xian, she said, "Sure, let's go back."

It's just that in the wilderness surrounding the tomb, it was very difficult for the Old Man to get a taxi back to Qin Family's Residence.

But looking at the Old Woman's expression, Mrs. Qin did not say anything. After all, she had never seen her father before, and Old Man Xian was her enemy who had caused her father's death.

On the way back, the Old Woman sat with her eyes closed on the back seat. It was unknown whether she was asleep or just faked it, but her expression was very calm. Only a small crease could be seen between her eyebrows.

Mrs. Qin looked at the Old Woman's face from time to time as she drove, "Mom, did you sleep last night? You look tired."

"No." The Old Woman closed her eyes and said, "I'm getting older and can't sleep at night. I wake up early in the morning every day."

"The air on the west side of this mountain is pretty good. When we buried father here, you asked God to take care of this place. This place is very nice. I was talking to someone just now, do you know how much the cemetery is worth now?"

"It's about the same as house prices, right? I've heard about it on the news." The Old Woman was not affected by this boring topic, she only replied plainly.

Seeing that, Mrs. Qin didn't say anything else. After a while, she then said, "The rain really isn't light. Every year on father's death anniversary, you always ask the driver to accompany you. I usually don't drive and my hands get a bit tired driving under this weather."

The Old Woman quietly closed her eyes for a moment, then slowly opened them and looked at the rain curtain outside the window.

The sky was covered with dark clouds. Thunder and lightning resounded in unison, and for some reason, it had suddenly rained so heavily.

Seeing that the Old Woman was just looking out the window without saying anything, Mrs. Qin sped up her car.

Qin Gengxin drove the car toward the west mountain. Xian Guiying raised her hand and bit her nails. As she watched the heavy rain outside, her frown deepened.

"Don't worry, grandpa isn't a child either. Since he could take a taxi to go to the cemetery, it shouldn't be a problem. He's probably seeking shelter under the guard post and chatting with them." Qin Gengxin observed the situation in front of him as he drove. He reached out to hold her hands. "Don't worry, hmm?"

Actually, when he said this, he wasn't sure if it was as good as he thought it was.

He knew his grandmother's temper very well.

Some things could not really be forgiven just by asking for apologies.

That was something that had taken root in her bones for decades, all the way until she was this old.

Xian Guiying didn't say anything. She leaned against the window as she watched the heavy rain outside. "I feel terrible inside. I hope it's not some bad premonition."

Qin Gengxin didn't reply to her words. Instead, he steered the wheel with one hand and held her hand with the other. "I'm here, hmm?"

Xian Guiying sighed and looked at him. "I always feel that grandfather has something that's hard to say. Although he has a tyrannical temper, he wouldn't burn a corpse after a person has died so cruelly, but he didn't explain anything, just saying that he didn't understand grandmother. If he took her away, it wouldn't be like this. He only said that but never once said a word to explain himself."

"Don't think about it anymore, your fever hasn't reduced. I told you to stay home with dad and accompany Qianqian, but you insisted on coming."

"I'm fine, I'm not that spoiled."

Seeing that she was so anxious for the Old Man that her tone had turned cold, Qin Gengxin could only hold her hand and gently squeeze it.

It was raining so hard that the passing cars and license plates could not be seen. Mrs. Qin's car flashed past them in a flash. Xian Guiying looked at the west mountain and felt her heart tighten.

Arriving at the cemetery, Xian Guiying insisted on getting out of the car. Qin Gengxin frowned when he saw that. He quickly went to her side and forcibly covered her with his coat before walking together, holding umbrellas.

He walked towards the guard post. Seeing a guard who appeared to be asleep, he knocked on the door and walked in.

Xian Guiying did not follow him. Instead, she walked towards the cemetery. Looking inside, she could not see clearly despite the heavy rain.

It wasn't until she walked a dozen yards further that she vaguely saw someone lying on the ground in front of a tombstone not far away.

Her face instantly paled. "Grandfather!"

Qin Gengxin had just woken up the guard. When the two of them came out, they heard Xian Guiying's scream. Qin Gengxin immediately looked in that direction and instantly frowned.

"How can you be so careless in your job?" Qin Gengxin angrily looked at the guard beside him and quickly rushed forward with an umbrella in his hand.

The guard followed him in embarrassment. He only slept there after chatting with Mrs. Qin. He had no idea who else was in the cemetery.

"Grandfather!" Xian Guiying hurriedly ran with her umbrella. Because of the heavy rain, she could not see it clearly from a distance and could only vaguely see that it was an old man. She ran towards him and saw the Old Man lying on the ground with a pale face.

"Grandfather! Grandfather!" The Old Man's body was ice-cold from the rain, without any reaction. Xian Guiying had been panicking the whole time, and now she was losing her composure. Qin Gengxin rushed over and crouched down to help support the Old Man.

"Guiying, don't panic. We're going to the hospital now!" Qin Gengxin carried the Old Man on his back and immediately left.

Xian Guiying also knew that this wasn't the time for her to panic. It was the first time she saw her grandfather so pale and quiet. It made her lose her train of thought for a moment. After staring blankly for a long while, she finally followed Qin Gengxin.

"Mr. Qin …" The guard who followed him was a little flustered. "This … Is this old man okay?"

"How do I know?" Qin Gengxin did not stop his footsteps. He glanced at him with a terrible expression and asked, "Where is the nearest hospital?"

"There's a small hospital just a few hundred meters down the west mountain towards the road." The guard replied as he followed them to the car.

Without another word, Qin Gengxin opened the car door before gently putting the Old Man inside.

Xian Guiying rushed forwards and tried to help, but Qin Gengxin held her hand and looked back at her. "Go to the front passenger seat and sit there. Don't think about anything. Don't worry, I'm here for you. Do you hear me?"

Xian Guiying was really confused. She glanced at him, composed herself, nodded, then went around the car to the passenger side.

Although the Qin Family was in G City, Qin Gengxin had always been in the United States, so he did not know much about these slightly more remote roads. However, he knew that this place was too far away from the hospital in the city center, so he could drove the Old Man to the nearest small hospital.
