Chapter 148 Freebie
148 Freebie
While Han Li and his Mother were inside the underground cavern, one trying to get Little Ruo to eat the candy in her hand and the other deeply in meditation, the outside world was full of chaos. Yang Wei and some allies he had put together were only one of the many intelligent enough to do something like that. By the time it was deep at night, as the moon hung high in the sky, filtering the land in gentle luminescence, hundreds died every hour.
It didn't take long before everyone understood that the world had Life Type Magical Resources, which was enough seed for all the chaos. At first, it was a battle between Evolved, and then, the intelligent ones slowly slipped away with their loot while those who still fought ended up seeing something interesting before they welcomed the bliss of death—a simple attack by a Power Born.
Soon enough, every Evolved was working like slaves for the Power Born, all searching fervently for a Magic Resource; if they didn't find it in some hours, one of them would be killed at random—that one of them could be them!
But the world didn't lack people who cared for life. There were some Power Born, like the Saintess Moon Girl, Monk Hen Shin, or such people who just ran around saving kids and the powerless from the struggles of the wicked. While some demons on the other hand…
Luckily, among Sacred Talent Cultivators, not many were so pitiful as to need helpless people to push their will on, if they needed to, they were superior enough to bend wills in the Seven Continents. Regardless, the world didn't lack evil, but none of the evil was Power Born, so almost all such ugly faces and weak men died at the hands of the righteous.
When a Power Born decides to do something, it was natural the Evolved would suffer. And Han Li hadn't noticed it, but this world was not nearly as vast as the continents. It was barely a day's work for people who could fly to go around and come back.
But just like in the real world, if they tried to fly above a certain height, their bodies would start to react badly. It would start to convulse, and just like the real world, it was a globe, so they could never find an 'edge' to the world.
Regardless, Power Born were too scary…
Even Han Li was afraid of them.

As the world filled up with more and more dead human bodies, in the underground cave, Han Li was seated cross-legged, his back drenched with sweat.
He had taken the risk of briefly going out; his mom wanted him to save at least one child for her, and he tried to, only to end up seeing a Power Born face to face. His heart thudded in his chest, and he took a deep breath. Luckily, that was Monk Hen Shin. A paragon of righteousness.
Yue Li was scared half to death after understanding that she had actually put her son's life in danger and that he was not some invincible god who could just go out and come in. As a result, she was now clinging to his chest with a pale face and kissing his cheeks like he would be lost if she let him free.
Whereas Ruo was now sleeping to the side with a sweet candy stick still in her mouth, it was nothing bad; it was edible too, so no one disturbed the completely fatigued girl. Yue Li had easily fed her the candy, and its effect of removing fatigue from the body really did wonders for Ruo; it made her fall asleep.
Yue Li covered her with the leftover clothing that Ruo herself wore—it was too big for her, so it was as good a blanket as they could find for now.
Suddenly, Han Li's meditation was once again broken.
Feeling his mother gently kiss his lips once more, he opened his eyes in annoyance. "Mom, let me meditate…" He sighed, "I can't focus with all this, it is such a good opportunity to get Energy… I am missing a Dao Crystal every minute of attention I give you."
Yue Li pouted. "Am I not worth that one Dao Crystal you lose? You don't like me kissing you anymore, do you? I am an old hag, after all."
Her son just sighed and planted a deep and forceful kiss on her lips, and a second later, he broke it. "I now understand that you are not the type of person you would want to be with when traveling into places like these. You are meant to be at home, in my room, cooking, or just traveling into nice places on vacation."
"Right…" Yue Li nodded, saddened. He had already told her about the Righteous woman who was going around saving kids alongside Monk Hen Shin, and thinking about her made her a bit envious. She daydreamed in his embrace while he once more went back into meditation. "One day, if I become strong, I will be like her. I will also save people, you know? And by the way, revive all of these people when you become strong enough, okay?"
Han Li smiled, his eyes once more opened, looking at her with a gentle gaze. "Okay, this is the deal. I will revive everyone dead in the world and create a pure land for them, indoctrinate them with the belief of righteousness, and enslave them to that mentality. Then I will throw them to a world and call it Heaven. How is it?"
Yue Li looked at him, pissed. "I am not joking, you have no respect for me these days, do you? Calling me an old hag, too."
"Are you not one?" Han Li teased.
"No…" Yue Li said, the rims of her eyes wet, "I am young, just thirty-five years old."
"Oh no!" Han Li suddenly exclaimed.
"What?" Yue Li asked with a weird face.
"I have been seduced by a vixen twice my age, and she is now saying that she is young! Oh heavens, someone help me!"
Yue Li giggled and gave a smack on his head. "Don't call your mother vixen. Call me something nice for once."
"Like?"
"Something romantic or something?"
"Darling…" Han Li felt his goosebumps rise, and even Yue Li felt a cringe. "I'll keep to Mom," he said with a cough. "Yeah," Yue Li nodded readily and said, "We are not supposed to be romantic. Go be cheesy with some other woman. I am too high class for such stupid things."
Rolling his eyes at her, he returned to meditation, and this time, no matter what Yue Li attempted, he didn't wake up. Seated there, he was like an iron statue; even if she punched him, it wouldn't make a difference.
She tried sitting on his back, pushing him, kissing him, licking his cheeks, and even leaving trails of saliva on his neck trying to leave a hickey, but he was entirely akin to a statue, immovable by lust, desire, and even her pitiful strength.
Bored, she gently brought Ruo beside them and made the girl use one of Han Li's lap as a pillow, and that immediately seemed to have worked as he opened his eyes, filled with annoyance once more. "What is the problem with you?" he asked.
"Nothing," Yue Li coughed. "Last time, no more games. I am also going to sleep."
As he glared with a gaze that said, 'I would ravage you till you go crazy and lose all manner of understanding if you don't sleep immediately,' she gulped and slept on his lap, whistling nervously. She didn't really know the extent of what Han Li could do when there was a child beside them, and for now, she didn't want to test it.
What if he really did that, and Ruo woke up to see something so horrendous?
She would lose all kinds of respect with this future Daughter in the law of hers!
Moreover, she was just a child, and she shouldn't be exposed to such things yet. There was time for everything, but Yue Li didn't know what Han Li would or wouldn't do anymore. He had grown a bit… unfathomable. In a bad way.
She had to crack his shields slowly. But she could already feel that she was at the cusp of figuring out his damned secret already. "Someday soon…" she muttered as she fell asleep, and he sighed, gently removing their heads from his lap. He walked to the side and once again began meditation.
The more he meditated, the faster the gains.
He felt as if he was gaining a crystal a minute at this point.
…
2 hours later, Han Li opened his eyes calmly. They shone like red gems.
"I wish I could stay here forever…" he sighed, "That would have been so great. Hiding with my girls from society till I reach my limits…"
He shook his head and used Life Vision on himself.
[Current Cultivation: Evolution Stage]

With a smile, he went back to meditation. He would only level up the rest one percent when his Mother woke up—it was a majestic sight worth seeing.
Till then, he had no reason to waste these freebie Dao Crystals.
