Zhang Rong’s eyes welled up with tears. She held her son in arms and her heart broke to see him in so much pain. She shouted anxiously, “Butler! Call the doctor ! Quick ! He is bleeding so much.”

The Butler had been a loyal servant of the Jing Family for more than twenty years. When he saw the fight break out, he used his presence of mind and had already called for the doctor. He knew that his master loved both his sons, and if any of them were hurt, he would be stressed.

Zhang Rong was over 40 years old, but her face had been so well-looked after, that she didn’t look a day over 30. Her tears somehow made her seem more sympathetically beautiful. She looked so pretty that anyone would want to take away her problems and do anything to make her smile again.

However, all the men in the hall, were indifferent to her beauty, right now. A showdown seemed imminent.

Jing Yiran was in a lot more pain, after being punched again but he didn’t show any sign of weakness.

Instead, he continued to provoke Jing Yichen. “I am so fond of that Beauty now. I hugged and kissed her so many times. Don’t be shocked when she dumps you. You can’t blame her, now that she’s had a taste of me.”

Jing Yichen had always been distant and cold but Yiran was instigating him with his words. Jing Yichen was enraged.

He said without emotion, “If you dare to touch her again, no one will be able to save you from my wrath. You are still alive, because you are not worthy of my fury.”

Jing Zhongxiu hadn’t realize until now that the brothers were fighting each other because of a woman!

“Shut up now! Both of you! Fighting over a woman? Shame on us, Family Jing.”

Jing Zhongxiu had spent half of his life experiencing different ups and downs. He had been an extremely calm and composed man. Only his sons made him emotional.

Neither of them was thoughtful enough to think of their old father. Neither of them saved him any trouble – one was always isolated and disconnected from everyone, whilst the other was terribly fickle and went through one woman after another without as much as an afterthought.

If word got out that the two Jing brothers were fighting for a woman, then it would make the headlines of every tabloid in the city.

Although Jing Zhongxiu was livid, his upbringing and experience had taught him to approach every problem with rationale. “Whose woman is she, anyway?”

“Mine!” replied the two sons simultaneously.

Ignoring Jing Yiran’s smirk, Jing Yichen continued. “Her name is Shangguan Ning. We are married.”

The moment he said these words, the three people in the living room turned towards him in shock.

They had never expected that Jing Yichen would get married, that too without letting them know.

Jing Yiran was dumbstruck. Though Jing Yichen and he didn’t get along most of the time, he knew Jing Yichen better than anybody else did. Although Shangguan Ning was a beautiful woman with a pleasant personality, she wasn’t so amazing, so as to make Jing Yichen want to spend the rest of his life with her.

He had assumed that Shangguan Ning was an interesting woman and that she mattered to Jing Yichen, but he had never expected that they were married already!

Jing Zhongxiu came back to his senses and asked in astonishment. “Her?”

As far as he knew, Jing Yichen and Shangguan Ning couldn’t have known each other for too long. How could they have gotten married so soon?

He didn’t expect that Jing Yichen could have done that so fast!

In his heart though, Shangguan Ning had been the girl he wanted as his daughter-in-law. Had it not been so, he would have never let her be an assistant to Jing Yichen or asked Lu Qing to teach her everything, in person.

Zhang Rong and Jing Yiran understood from Jing Zhongxiu’s words that he already knew who Shangguan Ning was.

Jing Yiran was in a daze. He didn’t know if it was because he was in pain or disbelief.

Jing Zhongxiu interrupted his trail of thought and said, “I don’t care about you getting involved with any other girl but remember that Shangguan Ning is your sister-in-law. If you dare to do anything inappropriate with her in the future, I will disown you!”

Jing Zhongxiu then turned towards his older son and said,”Why didn’t you let us know that you were getting married? Did you plan to keep it a secret forever, if today’s incident hadn’t happened?”

Jing Zhongxiu was a strict father and believed in discipline but when it came to his sons’ love life, he never interfered in it. He wasn’t a conventional man. He preferred that both his sons marry a girl they loved. Someone who would keep them company and be their friend for a lifetime.

But marriage wasn’t a relationship between just two people, it was a bond between the two families.

Although Family Jing was powerful enough and didn’t need to establish any marital accord with any family, yet it would be a matter of public ridicule, if the heir of Jingsheng Enterprise didn’t even host a banquet to celebrate his marriage.

“Bring your wife here tomorrow. We need to discuss the wedding!”

Jing Zhongxiu had just finished his sentence when an old lady’s chirpy voice interrupted.

“Whose wife? What wedding?”

Mo Lan walked in as she spoke. She was overjoyed at the sight of the sight of her two grandsons. “Chen is back!”

She then turned around and saw Jing Yiran’s face. It was wrapped in gauze and caked with dry blood. She asked in concern and annoyance. “Ran, how did you get hurt so badly? Who dared to hurt you?”

Jing Yiran looked pitiful and pathetically said “Grandma, I’ve broken my nose and I can’t lift my arm. You must avenge my injuries.”

Zhang Rong was also crying next to him as she said, “Mother, Yiran lost a lot of blood…”

Mo Lan was about to say something when Jing Yichen said coldly, “It was me.”

She became instantly speechless.

It was obvious. Who else would dare to touch the second heir of the Jing Family. It would be none other than the first heir, his older brother.

Jing Yiran had been punched so many times by him when he was little. And he was still punched by him as a grownup. How could this be reasonable?

“How can you beat him? He is your brother. It was still acceptable when you both were little but now you both are grown men. Please act your age.” Mo Lan knew Jing Yiran’s errant ways and knew that he must’ve been up to no good, to have been meted out this treatment by his older brother. But maybe Jing Yichen had been indulged by the family for too long to hit his brother so hard and that too on his handsome face.

Jing Zhongxiu held his mother and said calmly, “It’s alright, mother. Jiran deserved it. Don’t interfere between the two brothers. Just take Yiran upstairs for medical aid.”

Mo Lan turned around abruptly and said in bewilderment, “What do you mean Ran deserves this? Chen, apologize to your brother! Why have you become so aggressive lately?”

Without looking at the old lady, Jing Yichen said to Jing Zhongxiu, “When the family is at peace, I will bring her here.”

He walked out of the house after saying these words.

Completely confused, Mo Lan asked, frowning, “Bring whom here?”

“His wife.” Jing Zhongxiu didn’t want to say anything more. He got up and started to walk away.

The Butler, who couldn’t understand much of what happened, but recounted what he knew, in the old lady’s ears.

Mo Lan instantly got so angry that she exhaled. Then she gave a huge slap on Jing Yiran’s back. “You bastard! You picked on his wife?”
