Chapter 12: Chapter 12: Bragging About Someone Else's Greatness on Their ins
"Alright, but brace yourself first. I'm about to start wooing you with a touch of cheesy romance. Let's see if you can resist it."
"Pfft..."
...
After lunch, Yigol Novak drove Suri Drew's Lamborghini while Suri lazily lounged on the passenger seat like a cat.
Her image was a far cry from the ladylike appearance she usually maintained.
However, even as she relaxed, her beauty remained unaffected.
Yigol had initially wanted her to rest at home for a while longer, but Suri felt that it would be a waste of time. By the time they reached their destination, she would be well-rested anyway.
Yigol naturally had no objections to this.
He looked at Suri and thought that being able to show her true self in front of him was a sign of his success, wasn't it?
It also meant that Suri had gotten closer to Yigol in her heart.
Looking at it this way, having two children in three years didn't seem impossible!
Before they reached their destination, Suri's phone rang.
Suri slowly picked up her bag, fished out her phone, and saw it was a video call.
As soon as she answered the call, Yigol heard a woman's thunderous reproaches coming through the phone.
"You, woman! What was the meaning behind your comment on my ins last night? What does it mean when you say that your husband's cooking is better than my senior chef's, that he's the one who makes the worst and the most delicious food in the world?"
"Do you even know what a senior chef is? My chef is a senior chef, okay?"
"By the way, when did you get a husband?"
Yigol immediately understood, so the reason he received the divine-level cooking skills reward as soon as he woke up was because Suri had been singing his praises in someone else's ins.
Was that possible?
He had heard of senior chefs before. They were highly skilled chefs who only served the upper echelon of society, creating culinary masterpieces.
Based on the reward he had received, this senior chef's cooking skills must be extraordinary.
In that case, the person video calling Suri must be quite remarkable too. freeweb(n)ovel.co(m)
"Hehe, you're the smelly woman. I'm married now, alright?" Suri lazily replied.
Yigol found the way these women interacted with each other amusing, addressing each other as 'smelly women.'
"Are you in a car?"
"This looks like a passenger seat you often sit on, and you're sitting so casually! Tell me, who's driving?"
"Don't tell me you're using a chauffeur service. I wouldn't believe for a second that you would sit like that if it were. It means the driver must be someone special."
As the woman noticed how different Suri was from her usual self, she immediately bombarded her with questions.
"Naturally, it's my husband driving, who according to our relationship should be your brother-in-law."
"There's no need to maintain a particular image in front of my husband." Suri answered, looking rather smug.
It took the woman on the other end of the video call a good while to react.
After almost a minute, she stuttered, "Are you, are you being serious? Look at the way you're smiling – is this how a girl in love behaves?"
"I can't believe it without seeing it for myself. Let me see who's in the passenger seat."
"Honey, my bestie wants to see you, is that okay?" Suri turned to ask Yigol.
"If you don't think I'm too shabby, I have no problem with it. I'd even feel privileged." Yigol replied.
Listening to their conversation, it was evident that the two women were very close.
For Suri to introduce him to her closest friend proved that his importance to her had increased.
Afterward, Suri aimed her camera at Yigol. Once Yigol glanced at the camera, he continued to drive while greeting the woman, "Hi, I'm Yigol Novak, Suri's husband."
At this point, it wouldn't hurt to address the woman as a beauty, regardless of her appearance.
Since she was friends with Suri, she must also be someone who appreciated beauty like Suri did.
Otherwise, even if the beautiful friend was willing to be friends with an unattractive person, the latter might not be interested.
How frustrating would it be to have a bestie who was more attractive than oneself every day?
As the saying goes, there are only lazy women, not ugly ones. Any woman who was willing to dress up would not be unattractive.
"Oh my god, um, I feel that you and our Suri don't really match each other." The woman bluntly remarked.
"As long as Suri doesn't think so, it's all good. It's up to us to decide whether we're suitable for each other or not." Yigol responded amiably.
The woman on the video call hesitated before asking, "How long have you and Suri known each other?"
"We knew each other in our previous life, or perhaps even longer." Yigol joked.
The woman on the other end laughed, "Wow, that's quite a long time."
"So, how far have you and Suri progressed in your relationship?" she continued to prod.
"We've reached the point of legitimacy; we live and eat together under one roof. Otherwise, Suri wouldn't say my cooking is better than her senior chef husband's." Yigol replied with a smile.
"Your skin must be so thick. Smelly woman, are you just going to let this man take advantage of you like that?"
The woman directed her question at Suri.
"Hehe, you smelly woman, everything my husband said is true, okay?" Suri giggled as she responded.
"What? You, you're really living together under one roof now? Legitimately?" The woman asked in astonishment.
"Yes." Suri replied without any hesitation, her face turning red as she looked at Yigol.
"Fuck, have you gone mad? I'm booking a flight right now. You're way too shocking! If this man is threatening you, cough twice."
Yigol and Suri couldn't help but laugh.
Suri laughed heartily.
"I'll be there tonight." With that, the woman ended the call unilaterally.
Suri turned to Yigol, "Honey, you better be on your best behavior tonight."
"How so? Are you suggesting that I spend the night in your room while she sleeps in mine? We can keep each other company and make her lose sleep?" Yigol teased.
"You must be daydreaming." Suri's face flushed even redder, "I meant that you should cook a great meal tonight to show her that my husband's cooking is indeed more delicious than her senior chef's cooking."
"Her name is Rachel Turkish. We met at the kick-boxing gym. I heard that everyone in her family loves this kind of sport, and her father and brother are even national talents."
"She usually dresses like a man, with short hair and often wears suits. But she's incredibly beautiful, so don't let yourself be swayed when you see her."
"She's my one and only true bestie, but she's always lived in a different city so we hardly ever see each other."
"Don't you have any other friends?" Yigol asked.
"The friendship between women and men is very different. Let's put it this way, many friends seem great on the surface, but they all have their own agendas in their hearts."
