Chapter 257 - : The chosen one

257 Chapter 256: The chosen one

“No one man should wield all that power,” Meta, the guardian spirit of the force, said in a calm tone.

“That is why he is not a man…. That is why he will become God. The sole god!” Demos finally stepped up and began speaking.

“Would you rather have him stand against us or with us? Don’t you think It is only natural for us to join hands with the most competent host of all time… this is our last chance to save our world and I can’t allow anything to go wrong” Demos said with a deep frown.

Only then did the other guardian spirits pause and begin pondering. Rather than fighting this madman who will most likely win in his ambition to conquer the universe. Wasn’t it better to have the conqueror on their side rather than becoming conquered?

“To defeat old monarchs you need a young Tyrant willing to go to whatever length it takes to win. Only a greater evil can defeat a weaker one” Damon spoke up with a calm look as he was close to shattering the defensive shell covering the soul at the center.

His words sent shivers down the spine of everyone but a guardian spirit in golden robes stepped forward and gave Damon a cold look.

“If you become a greater evil what is the difference between you and them?” Michael, Guardian spirit of life asked.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!

Pearls of laughter boomed as soon as Damon heard the question which he considered stupid, especially since it was a being as powerful as a guardian spirit saying this.

.....

“Firstly, I bring forth evil with control. I know who to channel it at, when to channel it, and how to channel it… Having me on your side means you will never be the target of my blade and as for the morality part of the whole thing, don’t give me that crap” Damon’s eyes chilled as he said the last part, leaving the other guardian spirits stunned.

“This is a world that is guided by the laws of the jungle so why must I go out of my way to do unnecessary good? The world is simple and guided by simple laws. The strong rules and the weak submit. That is why I won’t stop until there is no one standing above me… the concept of good and bad is only a mere illusion, the line blurred… I simply do what’s best for me and my people” Damon added and Micheal frowned.

Damon’s logic was direct and simple which is one of the main reasons why it would work. The reason why his words carry such a strong effect was because of his strength. He has shown so much strength even if he were to say one plus one is three, many would instinctively believe it.

Power!

That’s all he wants!

Buzzz!

The other guardian spirits quickly added their power to aid Damon in shattering what was left of Sol’s defensive measures.

“By swearing allegiance to a host we will be mortalized forever and we can only grow stronger based on how powerful our master is. This is the reason we guardian spirits have never sworn allegiance to anyone” Demos said

“Until today,” Damon said with cold eyes.

Crack!

Bam!

The defensive shell shattered and Damon grabbed the soul with his bare hands absorbing it.

Buzzz!

The world trembled as a strong stench of death exploded from the lone figure. Darkness covered the heavens and the ground bled. The whole world, which was already chaotic, stopped as they looked towards the clouds to see it was shaped in the form of a familiar face with a cruel smile on its face.

Damon has succeeded!

The old gods paled wondering how Damon managed to succeed so fast. It was meant to take a day or so if he was alone but most of the time he got the help of Demos and then later the remaining guardian spirits.

Of course, the others didn’t know this.

“Now is the time…. Kill them all, your god commands it” Damon’s cruel voice boomed as the gates and doors of the palace of death swung open and their forces poured out. They were over three hundred thousand in total, consisting of mages, fighters, and all forms of supernatural being families. Only the Hail family has managed to exist outside his authority.

But then behind the three hundred thousand soldiers of the death god was an army of millions of undead soldiers of various ranks pouring out. Like a flood, Damon’s soldiers poured out and charged toward the empire to save the day.

As he said, he would wait for them to start dying and they would cry out for help and pour out the greatest amount of faith power they can ever muster before he lends them a hand.

Boom!

A powerful explosion erupted as a figure dressed in sleeveless black high-quality robes with his hair fluttering madly in the wind. His eyes seemed to be lacking eye sockets and his teeth were razor sharp.

Behind the man were six different beings with four pairs of wings and each representing an element. Their power was consciously restrained to hide their identity but the old gods saw through their disguise almost instantly.

“Guardian spirits!” Iris said with cold eyes.

“This explains why he was able to get it done faster!” Belial said with a cold look in his eyes only to get his path blocked by Blink.

“Gazing at my master like that would normally cost you your eyes but since my master has made an appearance, I will withdraw now,” Blink said as he and the other two began retreating while Damon slowly emerged with his circle of guardian spirits surrounding him like his guards.

“We finally met…. So these are the old gods I have to deal with. Cute” Damon said calmly with his hands placed behind him and his robes fluttering in the wind.

“Guardians…. Go ahead and complete your tasks…. I will handle six of them alone” Damon said casually stunning the guardian spirits and the enemy as well.
