Chapter 67: Shocking The Academy With Merit Points... Heading To The Array Hall...
What Kranos didn’t know was that, at this very moment, the instructors and students were in an uproar.
Although the shopping pavilion might seem like a secret realm which was quite secretive, all the
records were actively was actively transmitted to the instructors overseeing the realm.
And just now, a mysterious student had appeared—with one million merit points.
One million!
That was an astronomical amount, one had to note that only third-year students and above could possibly attain. Even then, their merit points would’ve accumulated gradually over years of missions and accomplishments.
But this? This surge in points appeared out of nowhere. It could only mean one thing... That a student had achieved an unbelievable feat!
Something that only someone at the Monarch Realm could hope to achieve, immediatley everyone was on tenderhooks, trying to discover who the person was.
...
Meanwhile, inside the Shopping Pavilion...
Kranos, oblivious to the storm he had stirred, had already submitted his request. Moments later, several scrolls shimmered abd appeared mid-air in front of him. He raised a brow in surprise before reaching out to pick the first scroll.
It was a spatial movement technique: Spatial Jump. Kranos skimmed through its details. It involved forcefully tearing open a gap in space with one’s domain to reappear at a distant location. However, he couldn’t do this as comprehending a domain required cultivation at the monarch realm.
Setting it aside, he moved to the next Cultivation Technique, however it too didn’t suit him. Soon after Kranos had looked through more than thirty cultivation techniques however none of them were suitable for him as his realm was mainly too low.
With a sigh, he muttered to himself, "Looks like I’ll have to stick with my current speed for now."
He then began browsing through the sword techniques. Eventually, one caught his attention. It was called pocket strike, although the name seemed weird Kranos didn’t pay attention to it.
He was fascinated by the idea which included hiding his weapons in space and when the opponent was unsuspecting, stiking them with all his strength.
It was a form of sneak attack, and Kranos liked it... He immediately settled for this, if he could hide numerous blades, when his opponent least expected it, he wouldn’t even know how he died.
Continuing his search, he eventually selected two more techniques:
One of which was the Hundred Space Strike, and the other which Kranos liked was called Restrictive strike, even though it was a skill at the Monarch Realm, because of his time ability Kranos felt he could create his own version, the name was restrictive strike.
The first technique involved striking at space rather than one’s opponent, but these spaces would quickly solidify and become a form of attack, the latter required sending out a sword strike that restricted space, trapping the opponent and sealing all avenues of escape. If their strength was insufficient... they could only die.
After he had picked the three techniques he needed, he waited for a bit, soon after the other elemental techniques disappeared.
Then the price of everything was displayed on the screen, Kranos was immediately stunned as soon as he saw the price, everything in total cost more than one hundred thousand merit points!
He was shocked, it seems one million points truly isn’t alot, he muttered inwardly and ultimately decided not to purchase anything.
He wanted to first understand how much the academy’s classes cost before spending his points. Reluctantly, he dropped the scrolls back into the air and took out his jade token.
Behind him, a portal shimmered to life once again, without much hesitation he entered and appeared in the outside world. Kranos opened his eyes and noticed his cousins standing nearby with dissatisfied expressions.
He blinked, then asked, "Senior brothers, sister—what’s the matter?"
Mark looked stunned for a second, then shot Kranos a look like he’d said something foolish.
"What else? Isn’t it obvious? It’s the merit points," he sighed. "I’ve only got around fifty thousand, but the cultivation technique I wanted costs over a hundred thousand!"
Kranos’ eyes widened.
He was genuinely shocked by the amount his cousin mentioned. So low? He had initially assumed his points were average—but now it seemed there was more to this than he had thought.
From the side, Carlos offered a reassuring smile. "Don’t be discouraged. For your level, your merit points are already impressive. Just complete a few more missions and you’ll be able to afford what you want. The same goes for you, Third Junior Sister, and you too, Fourth Junior Brother."
Kranos could could only scratch his nose awkwardly, he was still recovering from his shock, it seems i will have to find some time to get those cultivation techniques, he decided in his heart.
He had no intention of revealing the number of points he possessed. Who knew? If merit points were transferable, people might come for his life just for a few points.
Carlos then said, "Alright, I’ve shown you all the key areas. If you want to attend any class, just infuse your mana into your token and the corresponding points will be deducted. Some classes cost around 100 merit points, but those taught by powerful instructors may cost more. Of course, there are also cheaper options."
After a few more explanations, Carlos turned to leave. However, Kranos noticed him glancing his way before turning. No one could tell what he was thinking.
Mark then turned to Kranos, his tone lighter. "I’m heading to a cultivation class to get some tips on my technique. Anyone wanna come?"
At first, Kranos thought that this Second Brother of his had an extremely proud attitude, however he had come to realise that he only had disdain for the weak, towards the strong or those of similar strength he seemed to have a kind of certain kinship. ƒree𝑤ebnσvel.com
His cousin sister on the other wasn’t one to talk too much, always keeping to herself, although Kranos couldn’t guess what thoughts was constantly going through her mind he felt that she wasn’t too harmful, but of course, there was a need to be cautious.
Joy shook her head. "I want to ask for pointers on my Myriad Forms Elemental Technique. You go ahead, Second Brother." Then she turned to Kranos. "How about you, Fourth Brother?"
Kranos paused for a moment, considering his options. After some thought, he said, "I’ll head to the Arrays and Formations building for now."
With that, the three of them parted ways.
Kranos glanced around, his lips curling into a faint smile.
It seems... my life at this academy is just beginning.
