Chapter 47 Entering The Weapon Shop

They stopped beside a brown building that looked as if it might be made of bricks, and which looked a little shaggy to Lucas's eyes. It had two windows at the front and a black wooden door in the middle of the entrance.

This building was more like a mediaeval merchant's house, it was dark and smoky. Judging by its size, the building had two floors and probably two families could live in it.

"Let's go." Haya nodded his head as he pushed to open the door to enter.

As they went inside, Lucas' eyes widened as he saw what he hadn't expected to see in this place.

From the outside it looked rough, dirty and dark. Large stones and sandstone pillars made up most of the building's outer structure.

It was impossible to see through the closed windows, of course, but the uncomfortable silence inside could be felt outside.

As they entered the tavern through a crashing door, they were greeted by thick air and the smell of alcohol. The bartender poured the patrons a drink and made no effort to acknowledge their presence.

Inside, it was as gloomy as outside. Wooden beams supported the upper floor and the large, melted candles attached to them. The walls were covered with cobwebs and the decorations that hung there were no longer recognisable.

The tavern itself was almost completely deserted. The few people inside were eerily quiet, Lucas wasn't sure if they were all still alive, but whoever they were, he thought it was probably time to leave, and now.

He swallowed as he noticed many eyes staring at them with a disparaging look.

"You hear rumours about this tavern, supposedly it's notorious for something, but you can't for the life of you remember what," Haya spoke quietly, leading the group up the stairs.

Lucas' eyes wandered up and down, from left to right he eyed this place, "judging by the filth and unsanitary conditions, you could probably get food poisoning here." He raised the corners of his lips and looked at Kali.

He thought she might've been uncomfortable in this place, considering that only old fat men were here, but she looked perfectly healthy.

She didn't even react to Lucas' comments about this place. Her face was very blank and straight, no emotions were shown or expressed, Kali looked like she was used to places like this.

That was a bit strange, considering they were both underage and had probably never entered a bar before, but Kali's face was calm.

"Kali, where do you think Haya is taking us?" Lucas whispered.

"Shhh, don't draw attention to yourself." She interrupted him with her direct answer.

It was already very quiet here and Haya could probably hear them whispering in the background.

They reached an old wooden staircase that led them to the second floor of the building, 'even this part looks dark as hell.' Lucas pushed his shoulders back.

The unpleasant atmosphere that prevailed in this place was already too much for him, "Haya, where are we going?" He asked again.

"You'll see, follow me." Haya's tone was low, he didn't whisper, but he tried to speak as quietly as possible so as not to attract unwanted attention.

They began to walk down these shabby stairs that made constant squeaking noises, *eeeeeheee* *eehheee* with every single step it made a noise.

*tum* *tum* *tum*

Haya quickened his steps to get upstairs faster, everyone else following him.

The pillar was wet and it looked like there was a lot of bacteria on it, so Lucas and Kali avoided touching the thing. It was hard to keep their balance because the stairs were quite steep compared to the ones in their world.

When they finally reached the second part of the building, Lucas held his breath and froze in place.

This part was nothing compared to the first.

It looked to Lucas like some kind of secret hideout where the villains meet to plan something against their enemies.

He was greeted by a man standing behind the counter with his arms folded. Judging by his bald head and shady beard, he looked to be in his mid-forties.

On the dark brown counter were several small potions; the colours blue, purple and pink reminded Lucas of the tea he had drunk at home.

The atmosphere was cold from an array of metals on display in the place. The intimidating look of the person staring at them made Lucas' body shiver a little.

Brown wooden shelves connected to the wall contained all kinds of knives and a pistol taped to the wall that only looked like a decoration when you touched it.

On the right side of the wall, where there was nothing else, were dead animal heads. Probably to save the decoration, or because someone ran out of ideas.

"What are you looking for?" This person had a muscular and deep voice.

Haya stopped wandering and turned to the man who was obviously just staring at Lucas. ƒ𝐫𝒆𝐞w𝗲𝚋𝗻૦𝘷e𝙡.c𝑜𝙢

Catching a glimpse of the man's eyes, Lucas pushed his shoulders back and looked down at the bright, shiny wooden floor, 'this person cleaning this place is probably a madman' He put his hand on the back of his neck.

This situation made him uncomfortable, firstly he did not know why Haya brought him to such a place, and secondly, this man was staring at him insistently. It seemed to Lucas as if he wanted to curse his soul with his white eyes.

"We want to buy something from here." Haya finally spoke as the leader of this group.

Lucas was perfectly fine with Haya being the leader now, as he had no intention of leading anyone but himself and Kali.

"What exactly are you looking for?" He released his arms and raised one of his eyebrows.

"Someone I can use to kill a monster the size of the dragon."
