Chapter 220: Gold-Digging Malicious Supporting Actress Extra 03

Chapter 220

The wedding finally concluded successfully, under the glaring eyes of Shang's father and Shang's mother who looked like they wanted to flay Shang Lu alive.

Jiang Yan's work schedule improved afterwards, with more relaxed rest periods and even the ability to work from home. Shang Lu, on the contrary, became increasingly busy as he gradually took on more responsibilities in the company.

One day, after Jiang Yan finished processing a backlog of documents, she looked up and realized it was already evening. Shang Lu had sent her a message saying he had a meeting at the company and would be home late. Jiang Yan massaged her neck, too lazy to cook, and went out to find food for herself.

After she finished eating and was walking to her front door, she suddenly received a call from Shang Lu. The young CEO was on the other end of the line, requesting his wife to buy him a portion of secret recipe noodles.

However, that noodle shop was several streets away and didn't offer delivery service; one had to go to the store to pick it up.

Jiang Yan said, "I just walked back home. Why are you only calling now?"

Shang Lu replied pitifully, "I forgot. I'm so hungry, I really want to eat it."

"Then buy it yourself when you get back," Jiang Yan said as she entered the house and lay down on the bed.

Shang Lu complained on the phone, "Don't you love me anymore?"

"Yes, yes, yes. The love is gone," Jiang Yan said casually. "Keep your voice down when you come back. I'm going to sleep."

The young assistant in the front row trembled, watching in shock as the usually stern-faced CEO at work pursed his lips like a child denied candy, looking extremely wronged.

Because the noodle shop wasn't on the way home, Shang Lu had wanted Jiang Yan to buy it for him. But Jiang Yan was too tired and lazy to do so.

So when Shang Lu returned home, he carefully opened the door and entered, only to see Jiang Yan sleeping in the dim bedroom.

He sat quietly in the unlit room for a few minutes, feeling more and more wronged, then got up intending to go buy the noodles himself.

But Jiang Yan vaguely heard some noise and crawled out of bed. With her hair disheveled, she asked groggily, "Where are you going?"

"To buy noodles," Shang Lu said, deliberately devoid of emotion.

Jiang Yan, seemingly oblivious to his tone, lay back down and even asked him, "Can you buy me a sundae from the bubble tea shop next door?"

"You won't buy noodles for me! And you're asking me to buy you a sundae after I come back from work!" Shang Lu looked quite angry.

Meanwhile, Jiang Yan had already wrapped herself back in the blanket, looking lazy and sleepy.

Shang Lu opened the door and left. Jiang Yan smacked her lips, thinking she probably wouldn't get her sundae.

However, just as she was about to fall asleep again, the phone rang. Jiang Yan reached out and found her phone, pressing the answer button.

Shang Lu's stubborn and cold voice came through the phone: "What flavor sundae do you want?"

Jiang Yan paused for two seconds, feeling a softness in her heart, and said gently, "Black sugar pearl flavor."

Shang Lu walked back, holding a packed secret recipe noodle in one hand and the sundae in the other.

Jiang Yan sat up in bed and saw him turn on the bedside lamp. He set up a bed tray next to her, handed her the sundae, and then opened his chopsticks to eat the noodles.

Throughout all these actions, he deliberately didn't speak, fully expressing his anger.

Jiang Yan didn't speak either. She lifted the blanket and crawled up, sitting cross-legged in front of the bed tray.

The bedside lamp cast a warm, gentle glow, illuminating only a small area while the rest of the room remained in shadows.

Jiang Yan ate her sundae on the tray while Shang Lu silently buried his head in his noodles. He was still wearing the white shirt and tie from work, now with furrowed brows and holding his chopsticks, eating noodles with a very displeased expression.

Jiang Yan watched him for a while, then leaned closer. Shang Lu looked up at her, thinking she wanted to comfort him, but instead found Jiang Yan opening her mouth.

Shang Lu pressed his lips together, picked up a mouthful of noodles with his chopsticks and fed it to her, still not saying a word.

This state continued until they both finished eating, washed up, and lay back down in bed.

Shang Lu was still waiting for Jiang Yan's soft words.

The two seemed to have fallen into a silent cold war. Apart from not talking, everything else was normal, such as still sleeping in the same bed under the same blanket.

The air was quiet. Just as Jiang Yan was about to fall asleep, she suddenly heard Shang Lu turning over. She opened her eyes to see Shang Lu had thrown off the blanket.

He closed his eyes, pretending to be asleep.

Jiang Yan reached out and tucked him back in, making sure the corner of the blanket was tucked under his chin to prevent him from pushing it off again.

However, as soon as she lay down, Shang Lu changed his sleeping position again, from lying on his side to lying flat on his back, with his legs and arms sprawled out uncovered.

Jiang Yan sat up, slightly losing patience, and roughly covered him with the blanket.

This time, she hadn't been lying down for long when Shang Lu kicked off the blanket again.

Jiang Yan calmly got up, forcefully pressed the blanket up to his chin, and threatened angrily, "Stop pretending! I know you're awake!"

Shang Lu opened his eyes, grabbed her hand, and pulled her into his arms. Hugging her contentedly, he complained, "Why don't you know how to comfort me? I was so angry."

Jiang Yan ruffled his hair carelessly and mumbled, "It was fun watching you sulk. Why are you so short-tempered?"

Shang Lu's face fell, "It wasn't fun at all. I just wanted you to comfort me."

"Can't you just kiss me instead?"

Since Jiang Yan wouldn't take the initiative, he leaned in himself.
