Chapter 726 - 439: A Drunken Bout

Chapter 726: Chapter 439: A Drunken Bout

"Only half a jin?"

Yang Sheng was disappointed, having thought that Dan Kaiquan had a loud voice, only to realize his alcohol tolerance was lacking.

She glanced at Dong Qingfeng and saw him struggling to support himself on the table, his gaze wandering. His hand trembling as he reached for a skewer of lamb.

It was Jiang Yanan who came to his aid, but just as Dong Qingfeng touched the skewer’s metal stick, he couldn’t control his drowsy head any longer and slumped forward onto the table.

Yu Wen hadn’t drunk much, totaling perhaps a plastic cup’s worth, and was slightly tipsy, her body feeling light and swaying like a ribbonfish.

Lucky for her, Jiang Yanan was supporting her, or else, according to Yang Sheng’s assessment, Yu Wen would have probably slid under the table.

And from there, slid over to the opposite side, where Huang Zhongfei was.

Yu Wen was intoxicated, the words normally suppressed in her heart uncontrollably spilling out, "Monitor, I had a dream last night."

"A nightmare."

Her face was flushed unnaturally, as Huang Zhongfei passed her a box of yogurt.

Yu Wen coquettishly whined, "I don’t wanna drink, no~"

Huang Zhongfei had no choice but to put the yogurt on the table.

"Listen to me till the end," Yu Wen said, waving her hand and even holding her fingers in an orchid pose.

Huang Zhongfei, helpless, asked, "What nightmare?"

Yu Wen placed her orchid fingers to her lips, "A dream without you is a nightmare."

Upon hearing this, even Yang Sheng, who could hold her liquor, felt a bit queasy.

Huang Zhongfei picked up the yogurt again.

Yu Wen dragged out her voice, "I want..."

Yang Sheng, finding it all displeasing, waved her hand, "Yanan, feed Yu Wen the yogurt!"

Jiang Yanan also felt that Yu Wen was too intoxicated, and needed to sober up; otherwise, she would ruin what little image she had left in front of the monitor.

Yu Wen slapped open the dairy drink and, in her dizziness, picked up a half cup of white liquor, "Monitor, let me show you a magic trick!"

"Yanan, the fire, where’s the fire? I want to breathe fire for the monitor!"

After taking a gulp of white liquor, she looked around for a lighter, eager to showcase her talent.

...

Dan Kaiquan and Guo Kunnan were crying rivers of sorrow, the two of them clutching their heads and weeping, and on the side, Guo Kunnan cried while slapping his own face, crying out,

"Yanzi, Yanzi!"

The slapping resounded ceaselessly, impossible to stop.

He was heavily drunk, sometimes hitting Dan Kaiquan with a slap, with Dan Kaiquan barely reacting, accepting it as divine punishment.

Dong Qingfeng lay dazed for a while, then supporting himself on the table, he got up. He staggered a couple of steps, nearly falling over but managed to steady himself in time.

Tang Fu had only drunk beer and wasn’t drunk; witnessing the scene before her, she was agog and utterly incredulous.

Were these the same classmates who were just now spirited, smartly dressed, and mannerly?

It felt as if they were possessed.

Dong Qingfeng was so drunk he could not walk straight; he held onto the table, swaying left and right, the usual graceful poise completely gone, more like he was ill.

He swayed so violently, the table shook with him, and Xue Yuantong’s still glass of cola nearly spilled.

Xue Yuantong quickly picked up the glass, drank most of it, to avoid an accident.

Guo Kunnan’s heart-rending sobs seemed to egg Dong Qingfeng on, who, to the beat of the shaking table, found his rhythm.

The table’s trembling grew worse, affecting everyone’s meal.

Unable to bear it, Huang Zhongfei asked, "Qingfeng, Qingfeng, do you need my help?"

Dong Qingfeng slowly lifted his head, opening his eyes, seeing a blurry world where both the sky and the ground seemed to move.

He muttered, "Eat your food, don’t disturb my surfing!"

...

After saying that, Dong Qingfeng continued to ’surf’ with the help of the table.

Jiang Yanan couldn’t bear to watch.

Surfing was one thing, but Dong Qingfeng kept shaking the table, making it difficult for everyone to eat.

Yang Sheng suggested, "Monitor, why don’t we find him a table to surf on all he wants?"

Dong Qingfeng didn’t like that idea, "What’s the point of surfing without an audience?"

Upon hearing this, Jiang Ning tapped the table with her finger and a wave of Spiritual Power spread across the surface, stabilizing the table.

Finally, it stopped shaking.

Now that it didn’t affect anyone, someone surfing next to them was actually quite entertaining.

"I loved her so much, but this is the result I get!" Guo Kunnan wailed tearfully, continually hitting Dan Kaiquan’s face.

Dan Kaiquan responded, "What can you do? I’ve finally understood that while many things can be achieved through effort, love is not one of them."

Guo Kunnan: "No, I can’t accept this!"

In a fit of rage, Guo Kunnan hazily took out his phone, set it on the table, and without unlocking it, hit a button.

He was too drunk to realize that the girl he had been pining for had not called; instead, he had activated speakerphone.

Guo Kunnan began talking to the phone, "You finally reached out to me, I miss you, miss you miss you..."

He talked to himself, lamented alone, drowned in self-pity.

...

The chatter from other diners in the vicinity died down considerably; many curious glances were cast their way.

Even Yang Sheng felt embarrassed, and she had not anticipated that her companions would become so reckless after getting drunk, or else she would have never touched alcohol.

There weren’t many skewers left on the table, so they decided to hurry up and finish their meal to avoid further embarrassment.

Soon, the barbecue came to an end; with Xue Yuantong’s clean-up, not an extra skewer was left, and the remaining half-box of juice was cradled in his arms, ready to be enjoyed back home.

After Huang Zhongfei paid the bill, he pulled away Dong Qingfeng, who was still surfing.

He called out twice with no response, Huang Zhongfei shouted loudly, "The water’s too muddy here, let’s change seas to surf!"

Dong Qingfeng liked the sound of that and hopped down from the surfboard, barely able to stand, mumbling, "Why is the ground so shaky? Seems I’m better suited for the sea."

Huang Zhongfei hurried to support him.

Jiang Yanan was tasked with the fire-breathing Yu Wen.

However, there were still Guo Kunnan and Dan Kaiquan, one passed out, the other sweet-talking on the phone.

Huang Zhongfei was worried, but Jiang Ning walked over, effortlessly picked up one in each hand, and carried them off.
