'Fuck!' Cero cursed internally as he clenched his teeth, growling grunts seeping through. 'Even after using the Skill Points…!'
Rea took hold of the machete's hilt, and Cero's hand shot up to grab her wrist.
"I get it, alright." She nodded after gulping.
"W-What are you going to do?" Kris asked, incredibly worried for Cero.
"I'll pull it out slowly, exposing the wound little by little… So that he can heal inch by inch… Well, not even inch by-"
"Y-You can't do that!" Kris shouted. "What about the internal bleeding?! The moment you pull it out just a bit, blood will flood his-"
"You think I don't know that?!" Rea shouted back before moving her gaze back towards Cero. "You can do it, right?"
There didn't seem to be any reaction, until Cero's eyes turned blue for a moment.
Additionally, Rea felt a tingly sensation when in contact with the machete's hilt.
'The moment that the tip of the blade is inside my heart, and not through, I'll use lightning to cauterize the wound… If there's internal bleeding before I get to do that… Focus… Don't think about eating or devouring… Think about absorbing through the pores, the skin… Absorb the internal bleeding… See that blood as something separate from me… And devour it-'
Rea started pulling on the machete, and an intense gasp left Cero's mouth.
'Focus!' He told himself internally as a drop of blood went down his mouth.

The Soldier jumped up and placed a hand on the Commander's shoulder to dodge the latter's attack and widen the distance.
This caused Raya to freeze momentarily. She was standing right behind Liz.
Seeing this opportunity, Roka immediately leaped forward, unleashing a flurry of punches.
'She's completely ignoring me…' Raya thought with a raised eyebrow. 'Liz is standing right in front of me, with her back to me, blocking Roka's-'
Raya's thought was interrupted as the Soldier finally acknowledged her presence.
"Shit…" She cursed. Her wrist had been grabbed by the Soldier. Raya had tried reaching for the tentacle-like lianas connected to Liz's lower back.
Roka immediately attacked, causing Liz to push Raya away.
'She only turned towards me once I aimed for those… Roka was behind her as well, but she attacked right away.... She completely ignored Kris even though he got so close to her… What does this mean? What does it mean for whatever it is that's controlling her? This-' Raya's eyes suddenly widened as she realized.

"Please… Please do it, Cero." Rea whimpered, having pulled the machete just a tiny bit. "You don't get to die on me now, alright? Heal, you son of a bitch!" She shouted suddenly, causing Kris to move his gaze in her direction.
'She… She's crying?!' It was the first time that he saw Rea with such a soft expression on her face.
"Didn't even give you a full win… You don't get to die after pulling that lovey-dovey shit on me!"
Rea's voice started breaking more frequently, and the tears going down her face multiplied as the quantity of blood leaving Cero's body increased.

Raya and Roka were doing their best not to turn or eavesdrop on that side. Experience tales at novelbuddy
'The plant doesn't completely control her body. That should've been obvious from the start. It uses parts of her brain, lightning up some and shutting down others. That's why it could make Liz shoot her gun, but it can't make her talk. The part of the brain that deals with that is completely foreign to whatever this plant is! The whole Worka brain is foreign to it in the first place… Still, it saw Cero and Roka as a threat, but not me and Kris… What about Rea? She didn't get close enough… But it's likely the same logic. The plant cannot decide on what it a threat and what isn't! Liz's brain is used for that! Then what constitutes a threat for Liz? Roka and Cero…? Why? Does a threat imply that they're dangerous for her somehow? Or does that plant's definition of threat only include those strong enough to best her? In both cases, it would mean that it doesn't see me as a threat, as long as I don't move towards its tentacle-like limbs. It also means that Liz doesn't see me as a threat…' Raya pushed her chin to the left, cracking her neck. 'That bitch!'
As Liz threw a roundhouse kick, Roka lowered her body to dodge, taking the opportunity to move further to the side than needed.
'Perfect!' The Commander's eyes shone. 'I can see them clearly!'
With lightning speed, Roka's revolver was aimed, and four bullets were shot towards the four tentacle-like lianas.
'Try grabbing these!' Roka thought to herself, pleased by her accuracy and aim.

"Tsk…" Roka clicked her tongue and reloaded her gun. "That's troublesome."
Liz had used her arm to protect those tentacle-like lianas connected to her lower back. As such, the four bullets were firmly lodged in her forearm.
"Stop it, Roka! Whatever is controlling Liz doesn't mind messing her body up!"
"Then what am I…" Roka frowned, forced to step back and dodge another of Liz's punches. "To do?!"
"Just keep fighting."
"Huh?"
"Just keep fighting! Leave it to me!"
Roka clenched her teeth.
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN LEAVE IT TO YOU?! I'M FIGHTING AN UPGRADED LIZ THAT'S TRYING TO KILL ME!" The Commander shouted after jumping back and turning towards Raya. "Huh… Where did you go?"
A punch connected with Roka's cheek.
"I'll have you do three thousand pushups when you wake up." The Commander threatened.

'Roka is right.' Raya thought as she ran. 'The difficulty level is too high. Not only does Roka not want to hurt or kill Liz, but the latter IS trying to hurt and kill Roka… While also being buffed. Absolutely unfair. But if we time this right.'
Raya shook her head.
'Let's get this over with! Cero needs our help. We don't have time for this, Liz!'
