Chapter 20 - Wrath of the Heavens

Chapter 20 - Wrath of the Heavens

Luo RunWei had been prepared, her posture reserved and arrogant as she waited for Zheng PingQing to come and apologize to her. She looked proud, and it looked like if Zheng PingQing couldn’t give her a good excuse, she wouldn’t easily forgive him.

You NiNi, on the other hand, toned down some of her harshnesses, because she saw Lin Qian coming with Zheng PingQing.

Honestly, You NiNi had only come to this gathering to pad the number of girls and to support Luo RunWei. She hadn’t been aiming for any of the boys who were supposed to attend and was even a little disdainful at the sight of these subpar boys. That was why she had been extremely picky during the day and was very dissatisfied with Zheng PingQing’s absence.

But unexpectedly, not only did Zheng PingQing show up, but he also brought a boy whose looks were comparable to his’. No, in You NiNi’s mind, this new boy suited her aesthetics more than Zheng PingQing.

Compared to Zheng PingQing’s more brash and ostentatious features, this other boy looked more refined and delicate, his temperament more melancholic.

As she watched DongMing En babble next to them, she saw the boy only smiling lightly.

It was a stark contrast to the other silly and naive boys around them.

You NiNi decided to persuade Luo RunWei later forgive Zheng PingQing.

The two girls stood next to each other, waiting for Zheng PingQing and the boy to approach them.

After Zheng PingQing and Dong MingEn finished their chat, they saw Zheng PingQing bring the boy towards them.

You NiNi nervously tugged at Luo RunWei’s dress.

Zheng PingQing actually wanted to avoid these so-called top beauties, but since they’re all skating in the same place, outright avoidance wasn’t possible.

To prove his innocence to Lin Qian, he needed to be upright and honest from the get-go.

You NiNi and Luo RunWei watched Zheng PingQing and the boy get closer and closer…until they were finally in front of them.

You NiNi began to speak. “You…”

Then, Zheng PingQing and the boy directly walked past them.

During their entire walk, they were like blind men, not even giving either of them a single glance.

You NiNi: ????

Seeing Zheng PingQing and the boy enter the ice rink, You NiNi could no longer stand it and directly rushed towards them. “Zheng PingQing, what are you trying to do?’

Zheng PingQing: “….” Why does everybody want him to die today!

Zheng PingQing looked at You NiNi with a confused expression he replied: “Sorry, who are you?”

This wasn’t him pretending. After all, for Dong MingEn and his friends, it had only been a semester, but for him, it’s been more than ten years.

Zheng PingQing really didn’t remember this Luo RunWei person, not to mention You NiNi, whom he had never even met.

You NiNi was stunned. Under normal circumstances, she would have long lost her temper, but the other boy was watching, and, well…Zheng PingQing’s question was to be expected.

She and Zheng PingQing hadn’t met before.

But even if he didn’t know her, he should know Luo RunWei.

You NiNi reined in her anger and said: “Shouldn’t you be explaining things to RunWei?”

Zheng PingQing: “&#k2026;.”

It’s to his boyfriend that he should explain things to.

Once again, Zheng PingQing was unabashed as he asked: “Who’s RunWei?”

You NiNi: “&#k2026;”

Luo RunWei: “&#k2026;”

You NiNi was so angry she wanted to jump him. Fortunately, she was pulled back by Luo RunWei. Luo RunWei looked at Zheng PingQing and with a blank expression, said: “Sorry to disturb you.”

Finally, someone being reasonable!

Zheng PingQing, who was saved from the brink of death, sincerely said goodbye to Luo RunWei before leaving.

You NiNi wasn’t willing to let this slide. “RunWei, you…”

Luo RunWei interrupted her as she sat back down, her eyes following Zheng PingQing’s figure as she commented: “He’s actually playing hard to get…what’s he up to?”

You NiNi calmed down when she heard her words. She felt like her behavior had been unsightly, but she just couldn’t stand the situation. “These No.12 boys are actually playing tricks?”

Luo RunWei had countless people chasing her, flattering her. She would usually reply with disdain, but she had actually given Zheng PingQing a chance. Who would’ve thought that Zheng PingQing would be so ignorant as to reject her generosity?

Luo RunWei had a prideful attitude and therefore refused to argue with Zheng PingQing, lest it made her lose face. But this was the first time she had actually been ignored this thoroughly. A fire started to burn in her heart and refused to extinguish, so in the end, she sat down and waited to see what Zheng PingQing would do.

Gou XinDou, who had witnessed the entire thing, sat silently at a nearby table tenderly cradling the basket of fries that he had ordered.

Fuck, Asuras truly are scary!

Meanwhile, Zheng PingQing felt like he had just braved the wrath the Heavens, and with great difficulty, finally managed to reach the finish line. To him, the short distance between the shoe counter and the ice rink had felt like a danger zone. But fuck, just as he thought he was safe, he was hit by a teammate’s bullet.

Lin Qian turned to him and with a thoughtful look, asked: “Hmm, I always thought that I was your first love, you were mine….”

“You are, you are,” Zheng PingQing, who had long wanted to murder Dong MingEn to prove his innocence, quoted a the cheesiest line in existence: “Before I fell for you, I didn’t understand this thing called love!”

Lin Qian: “….oh.”

Seeing his exasperated expression, Zheng PingQing felt like he had to settle a few old grievances with him. “Hey, hey. Don’t forget, I liked you first, and I was the one who proposed!”

Lin Qian: “….” Here we go again. This infatuated man really liked fussing over the smallest things.

Lin Qian very slowly reasoned with him, saying: “You’re not wrong about the proposal, but with regards to who liked whom first…that’s undecided!”

It’s a pity that Zheng PingQing had conclusive evidence. “…have you forgotten about the fact that you kept avoiding me when I first tried to pursue you?”

Lin Qian: “….” One of the greatest miscalculations in his life was the fact that he didn’t immediately accept Zheng PingQing’s confession.

At the time, he had no proof that Zheng PingQing liked him as much as he liked Zheng PingQing.

When Zheng PingQing proposed, of course he immediately said yes, but the only reason Zheng PingQing was the one to propose was because Lin Qian had been beaten to the punch

Lin Qian’s heart turned restless, so he beamed and pulled at Zheng PingQing’s hair. “Didn’t you take me here to skate? What’s with all this talking?”

Zheng PingQing: “….” Changing the subject so naturally, how skilled.

But of course, as the boyfriend, he had to pretend to fall for such things!

Zheng PingQing gently took Lin Qian’s hand and asked him to put his other hand on the railing. “Go slow and try to balance first. Don’t be afraid, with me holding onto you, you won’t fall…”

Lin Qian slowly moved on the ice, praising Zheng PingQing along the way: “I didn’t expect you to be such a good skater.”

“I’m alright.” Zheng PingQing felt a little cynical. Looking at Lin Qian’s slow and careful movements, he suddenly recalled some unpleasant things that happened on a skating rink in their last life.

Oh, it should’ve happened in this life too, since it happened in their sophomore year.

But that was a memory that happened a long, long time ago.

Looking at Lin Qian’s expression, it seemed that he had forgotten that particular event. Zheng PingQing didn’t mention it, instead saying: “When you’ve adjusted, I’ll take you further in.”

As Lin Qian was led around the rink, there was no shortage of boys and girls skating around them in the classic pose of ‘girl hugging the boy’s waist from behind.’ Knowing Zheng PingQing’s personality intimately, Lin Qian had already prepared himself as he smiled at him warmly and said: “Alright.”

When Luo XingGuang finally walked over, he thought that he would finally see Zhang PingQing relaxed and happily skating with a beautiful flower. What he didn’t expect was to see Dong MingEn’s dark face, and….a scene he never in his life expected to witness.

That son of a bitch, Lin Qian actually finished his homework! Then decided to come out and bully Zheng PingQing!

He didn’t need Dong MingEn to elaborate on this bizarre scene. Lou XingGuang had already figured out the entire story in a glance and almost cried with Dong MingEn on the spot.

The Boss’ life is too bitter!

While his brothers are picking up girls, he can only go with Lin Qian!

Gou XinDou, who was only an onlooker, was pointedly less sentimental. He leisurely continued to eat his fries as he commented: “I admit, I never expected this. Last semester, Zheng PingQing and Lin Qian fought on a skating rink. Now, they’re actually skating together; life really is unpredictable.”

Luo XingGuang and Dong MingEn looked at each other, thinking back to that fateful day.

It was during their sophomore year, when they were still young and happy, and not shadowed by supplementary lessons. With more free time, they usually planned a lot more outings, and would therefore occasionally go to the skating rink to have fun.

Unfortunately, they happened to bump into Lin Qian at one of those meet-ups. They didn’t know that it was Lin Qian’s first time in a skating rink and had just learned how to stand. At the sight of him, Zheng PingQing instinctively thought that a battle was brewing, so he deliberately skated near Lin Qian, causing them to crash into each other and fall accidentally.

It was one of those nostalgic memories that they looked back to whenever they wanted to remember that the perfect Lin Qian actually had something he wasn’t good at.

As they compared that cherished memory to the seemingly harmonious scene in front of them, Luo XingGuang suddenly had an epiphany. “Damn it, don’t tell me Lin Qian deliberately did this to get back at the Boss for knocking him down the last time we went out to the skating rink?!”

Dong MingEn sighed. “The psychological aspect of this revenge is too heavy!”

Meanwhile, Lin Qian could finally skate slowly, but smoothly, on the ice. But of course, Zheng PingQing wouldn’t be Zheng PingQing if he didn’t take advantage of the situation. “Come and hold onto my waist; I’ll take you flying.”

Lin Qian cooperated, valiantly matching Zheng PingQing’s thick face as he replied: “Alright, you need to protect me well.”

“As if you still need to remind me?” Zheng PingQing pulled Lin Qian towards him and guided his hands to wrap around his waist from behind. “Stand firm, we’re taking off.”

To be honest, Zheng PingQing wasn’t really the best skater, but nevertheless, Lin Qian could feel him being very careful.

Lia Qian’s arms encircled Zheng PingQing’s thin waist, his hands overlapping at Zheng PingQing’s lower abdomen. Zheng PingQing placed a hand on top of Lin Qian’s, feeling his warmth and steady pulse. He was afraid that Lin Qian was feeling a little scared.

Zheng PingQing’s speed as he skated wasn’t very fast, and he prioritized stability. He skated with Lin Qian at a less populated line, with only a gentle wind caressing their ears, like a whisper.

At the sidelines, Gou Xindou sprayed out a mouthful of fries.

Dong MingEn and Lou XingGuang also couldn’t tear their eyes away from this incredible picture.

Dong MingEn shook Lou XingGuang in horror. “You tell me, am I going blind? I think I just saw a scene that is impossible to comprehend!”

Lou XingGuang looked a little calmer, but his face also wore a complicated expression. He tried to comfort both himself and Dong MingEn by saying: “Maybe that’s just how you’re supposed to skate with someone…”

Dong MingEn felt like he was in a trance. Of course, he had seen this kind of skating numerous times, but it had always been between a man and a woman.

Lou XingGuang looked at the two figures skating and continued to get entangled with his discoveries. “That…why do I think that the Boss seems quite happy….”

Dong MingEn: “….” He thought he was just blind, but it turns out his friend saw it too!

These two fellow classmates were so shocked by the stimulating picture in front of them that they began to doubt life.

Gou XinDou had slowed down, but he continued to eat his fries. He was continuously shaking his head as he muttered: “What a sight.”

You NiNi’s face was dark when she saw this and looked over to Luo RunWei. “Damn, there’s something wrong with that crazy Zheng PingQing. Skating like that with a man, who wants to see something like that?”

Luo RunWei rolled her eyes and said. “….so unsightly.”

You NiNi nodded and said sarcastically: “Daring to lead someone at his pitiful level.”

Really, if one were to see Zheng PingQing and Lin Qian without prejudice, they would find them to be a beautiful scene. Both of them were tall and had outstanding looks. Seeing two 17-year-old boys acting so brazenly, most people would just think ‘it’s good to be young.’

Zheng PingQing had long lost the competitive nature of a youngster. Victory and loss were no longer as important as the person behind him, and he didn’t have the need to show off. So he continued on his slow but steady pace. But just as he started to relax, a girl suddenly appeared in front of him and performed a truly graceful slip, waving her hands towards him.

Zheng PingQing had been fully concentrating on his little bubble of two. He had been vigilant of other people knocking into Lin Qian, so when someone suddenly appeared in front of him, Zheng PingQing subconsciously braked.

As a result, his hands fluttered several times, and he ended up unsteady. With Lin Qian, Zheng PingQing ended up on the ice, even spinning twice before hitting the ground.

You NiNi burst out laughing. “Serves you right.”

Looking at Luo RunWei, she said: “Fortunately you didn’t go with him. Otherwise, you’d be the one falling.”

Luo RunWei happily laughed with her.

On the ice, Zheng PingQing nervously asked Lin Qian: “How are you? Did you get hurt?”

Lin Qian was still tightly holding onto Zheng PingQing’s waist. With a muffled laugh, he asked: “How do you know how to twist so accurately and fall under me?”

When they fell, Zheng PingQing went down and took the brunt of the fall while simultaneously moving Lin Qian upwards. When they landed, Lin Qian ended up on top of him.

“True Love.” Zheng PingQing earnestly answered. “Love and years of experience in rolling around helped me perfect the skill.”

Zheng PingQing just trying to have a date, but everyone wants to ruin his day lol
