Chapter 99 - -The Sealed Old Headmaster
Seeing the black-robed old man acting all crazy, Velen was momentarily stunned, then recalled the system prompt he had received when venturing deeper into this place.
Could that have been the so-called seal?
As this thought flashed through his mind, the black-robed old man, who had rushed toward the passage at extreme speed, suddenly seemed to suffer a heavy blow. His entire body was sent flying backward, crashing heavily to the ground before Velen, blood trickling from his nose and mouth, looking utterly wretched.
"Brat, that seal hasn’t failed at all! You tricked an old man who’s been around for centuries! Have you no decency?!"
The black-robed old man rolled on the ground before getting up, glaring at Velen in rage.
Had he not reacted in time with his defenses just now, that soul impact would have been enough to wipe him out completely!
Velen speechlessly stared at the old man.
He had never said the seal was broken—this old guy had just celebrated too soon.
"Fate’s Trojan, who is this guy?"

Although he still didn’t understand what the seal was all about, the fact that it had triggered the system meant it was definitely not something simple. And someone who had been sealed here was certainly no ordinary person either.
"This man is Clinton, the founding headmaster of Element Academy. He is a special type of soul master, who has endured nine waves of thunder tides and was once a top-tier awakener capable of ascending to the upper plane universe at any moment."
"However, over three hundred years ago, Clinton provoked Max, a disciple of the Sunlord from the upper plane universe, and was subsequently sealed here by the Sunlord’s representative in the lower plane universe, forever barred from ascending to the upper plane universe."
Hearing the system’s explanation, Velen was a little surprised.
So this crazy old man actually had such a remarkable background!
A soul master who had survived nine thunder tides!
Soul masters were an incredibly rare and powerful class.
But that was just perfect—since he was a renowned soul master, then the Soul Crystals he had just obtained would make for a perfect opportunity to flaunt his wealth.
This guy could be a great tool!
"Old Headmaster, do you know about Soul Crystals?"
Velen grinned as he looked at Clinton.
Hearing Velen bring up his area of expertise, Clinton immediately raised his head proudly. "Of course I do! These things are extremely precious. I happen to have quite a few myself!"
Saying this, he deliberately took one out and placed it in his palm as if showing off.
He still had no idea how Velen had gotten in here, but since the boy was only an Expert Rank awakener, he posed no threat to Clinton at all.
Having been sealed here for so long, he was quite eager to have someone to talk to, especially about a subject he excelled in!
"Soul Crystal?!"
Seeing the object in Clinton’s hand, Velen recognized it immediately and suddenly found himself in a dilemma.
Since Clinton was a soul master and possessed Soul Crystals himself, it didn’t seem like the best opportunity to show off.
However, after studying it for a few moments, Velen’s lips curled into a smirk.
"Old Headmaster, do you think what I have here is also a Soul Crystal?"
Saying this, Velen directly retrieved a head-sized Soul Crystal from his system inventory.
Clinton had been wearing an expression of pride, but the moment he saw the massive crystal in Velen’s hands, he completely froze.
My god!
How could a Soul Crystal be this gigantic?!
He knew that the larger a Soul Crystal, the higher the soul power required to condense it. Even though he had reached the peak of the soul master class, the Soul Crystals he could form were only thumb-sized at best.
And that was already his absolute limit!
Even after spending centuries, he had barely managed to condense just over two hundred pieces.
Yet, even if he combined all of them, they still wouldn’t measure up to the one Velen was holding!
Where had Velen gotten this from?
Clinton was utterly dumbfounded!
The sheer size of Velen’s Soul Crystal was a dimensional suppression on him!
The psychological impact was simply overwhelming!
Seeing Clinton frozen like a statue, Velen couldn’t help but smile.
For a moment, it had almost been Clinton showing off in front of him instead.
But that’s impossible! He was the ultimate tycoon here—there was only room for him to flaunt his wealth, never for others to show off in front of him!
Then, under Clinton’s nearly petrified gaze, Velen crushed the Soul Crystal in his hands into dust.
The black powder slipped through his fingers like grains of sand, scattering onto the ground.
The rich soul energy hidden within the crystal quickly dissipated into the surroundings like mist.
"This lunatic!"
Seeing this, Clinton’s eyes instantly turned bloodshot!
How much pure soul energy had been contained in that giant Soul Crystal?!
It was the culmination of countless years of effort for any soul master!
Yet, Velen had just crushed it—wasting it all!
"Scoundrel! You’re an absolute scoundrel! Do you have any idea how precious Soul Crystals are?! Do you understand that you just destroyed a soul master’s life’s work?!"
He glared at Velen with fury, itching to kill him on the spot as an offering to the heavens.
Seeing Clinton this agitated, Velen’s grin only grew wider.
"Old Headmaster, what does it matter how rare a Soul Crystal is? Trapped in this place, no matter how valuable something is, it’s meaningless."
"To tell you the truth, I also offended Max and got sealed here by the Sunlord’s representative. These things, no matter how rare, are all pointless now!"
Velen shook his head and sighed, smoothly starting to deceive the old headmaster.
He had nothing better to do anyway, so why not mess around a little?
Clinton, who had been raging just moments ago, suddenly froze when he heard Velen’s words. His bloodshot eyes stared at him intensely.
"What did you say?"
"You were sealed here because of Max too?"
"No wonder… no wonder you could pass through the seal! I thought the seal had failed… That bastard isn’t human, but his power and background are too strong. We powerless nobodies from the lower plane universe could never oppose him…"
Hearing Velen mention Max and Sunlord, Clinton immediately believed him.
After all, very few people knew about this incident, and Velen being able to enter this place proved his words were true!
"If he sealed you as well, then it means he still hasn’t ascended yet. That damn bastard! If we ever get out of here, we must make him pay in blood!"
Clinton’s expression turned murderous as he spoke, his killing intent nearly materializing into reality.
"There’s no point talking about that now. We should focus on the present instead."
Velen said calmly.
Hearing this, Clinton could only nod dejectedly.
It was true—he had been trapped here for so long, unable to break free. Talking about revenge against Max was nothing but wishful thinking.
"Old Headmaster, you’ve been sealed here for way too long. How about we play a game to pass the time?"
Seeing Clinton settle down, Velen suddenly suggested.
Clinton frowned. "We’re both trapped in here—what can we even play…"
Before he could finish, he saw Velen manipulating mana to conjure a basketball hoop on the ground. Then, Velen retrieved a basketball-sized Soul Crystal.
"This is called basketball. Whoever scores the most points wins. What do you think?"
Hearing Velen explain the rules, Clinton, who had been sealed for centuries, found himself quite interested.
But when he saw Velen spinning a Soul Crystal on his finger like a ball, his mouth twitched.
This kid is using Soul Crystals as toys?!
"Shouldn’t we… use something else?" he asked hesitantly.
Velen shook his head. "Relax, Old Headmaster! I still have 199 Soul Crystals left—we have plenty to play with!"
Saying this, Velen immediately started dribbling and shooting!
As a basketball master with two and a half years of practice, he naturally started scoring quickly.
But Clinton, being highly talented, picked up the game fast—especially his shoulder charge, which soon surpassed Velen’s.
"Haha, Velen! I scored!"
"Again!"
"Again!"
The more he played, the more excited Clinton became. This brand-new sport was helping him release all his pent-up frustration!
As for the Soul Crystals?
At this point, he didn’t even care anymore.
Several hours later…
Both were drenched in sweat.
And all the Soul Crystals Velen had taken out had been reduced to dust.
"Congratulations, Host, for successfully flaunting your wealth. Reward: 1,000 Luxury Points. Additional reward: 10,000 Soul Crystals (Luxury Points will no longer be awarded!)."
Hearing the system prompt, Velen froze for a moment.
Another huge reward?!
