Chapter 31 Consecutive Critical Damage
When Kaizen noticed that one of the eight legs of the Scarlet Demon Spider was bent over and a little dizzy. The man also realized that the only way, without risking his life to continue applying damage to the Boss, would be to climb on this thing's back. So he ran towards that leg of the monster. But after a brief moment of being stunned by the consecutive critical damage, the creature was already managing to regain its posture.
He then headed towards the leg on the left that was more likely to be climbed; Kaizen noticed that his current speed might not be enough to get where he wanted to go. He needed to do something to delay the Boss' retaking.
So Kaizen spun the spear with his right hand while accelerating to the left of the Scarlet Demon Spider and drove the spear's tip into this monster's first left leg. He managed to cause it to give a howl of pain and weaken the creature for a few seconds.
These few seconds were more than crucial before Kaizen could actually begin to climb this gigantic and bizarre creature. He grabbed onto the hairs on the leg of the Boss, who immediately felt the grab and started to shake his legs a little.
However, the Scarlet Demon Spider wasn't having much luck, and even though Kaizen might not be that strong nor that fast, he was skillful, so he propelled himself slightly to reach the spider's back.
As soon as Kaizen stepped on this monster's back, he felt like he was stepping on a stone floor and not on flesh as he had expected. He would definitely take more damage trying to punch that back than he could apply damage to it. He would need his spear back if he wanted to pierce that tough skin, after all, the broken dagger in his inventory would probably break in half on the first try.
Kaizen looked in the upper left corner of his vision and realized that his MP was still at zero, so he would have no way to use <Telekinesis> to get the spear.
To make matters worse for the reckless novice, the Scarlet Demon Spider was already fully recovered from its stun, struggling from one corner of the chamber to the other, breaking everything in its path. The black metal floor seemed to be the only thing that could withstand the creature's fury and uncontrolled desperation.
'Could I try using Therkara to get his attention? No, that won't work. If it's a Passive Skill of my class that makes me able to see spirits, the monsters probably can't see her… Can she throw a weapon at me? No, she said she can't lift anything too heavy. Damn…'
As Kaizen did his best to think of a solution to be able to defeat the Scarlet Demon Spider, his eyes dug into the untouched crane on the other side of the Medullar Forge. At that moment, the spark of a genius idea arose in his mind.
'Yes, yes. That's it. How could I have been so foolish as to forget? The best way to beat a monster with attributes dozens of times better than mine will be to improvise.' He started walking towards the monster's head, where a huge hole was caused by the Huko Arrow explosion.
Walking this way was not easy, as the Scarlet Demon Spider was desperately struggling, trying its best to get Kaizen off its back.
With the bumps on the walls and falls, Kaizen lost ten HP points, fifteen, and twenty. His HP bar was halved with just these bumps from the creature, not with direct hits from it. Still, he persisted in the idea he had in mind and finally reached the Boss's head.
The scene of this creature's destroyed head was distressing to Kaizen, he could see the black flesh fully exposed, and the scene was so macabre and real.
The three smaller eyes of the Scarlet Demon Spider that the explosion did not reach fixed on the man. The monster's front claws kept moving, excreting a green liquid.
Kaizen took a deep breath, held back the craving he felt, and punched one of his eyes.
The first blow was not enough to crush the eye, but Kaizen didn't stop and continued punching the same spot several times, getting warnings that the impacts were applying damage and gaining experience.
Thanks to this, the Scarlet Demon Spider had to pay more attention to where it was to find a way to get that man out of his head.
Soon, the creature noticed a large metal tower a few meters away. This was perfect for it because if the man was now in his head, hitting his own head somewhere would crush the man. At least, that was the creature's logic.
When Kaizen saw the Scarlet Demon Spider begin to charge at high speed toward the tower, he smiled.
*TRIMMMMMM*
The collision of the giant spider with the metal tower produced a high-pitched sound that reverberated to the far reaches of that crystal-filled cave system.
Therkara Ironstone came out from behind the furnace where she was hiding and saw the spider lying on the ground. The impact was definitely very strong. At that moment, her heart raced with worry about what had happened to Kaizen. She put her hands in front of her chest in anguish and was about to scream for him, but suddenly she saw someone jump off the creature's back.
Kaizen landed on the ground, looked around, and located the crane hook at the creature's feet. Immediately, he ran to this, picked it up, and ran towards the creature's abdomen.
'Faster! Faster! I have to take advantage of this stun!' he thought and climbed onto the Fire Stone's geode. ƒ𝔯𝗲𝗲𝙬𝒆𝚋𝐧oѵℯl.𝒄𝑜m
*Trac*
Kaizen stuck his hook in the middle of the geode and got off the creature, which was beginning to rise.
As soon as the Scarlet Demon Spider saw the silhouette of a human, its eyes stopped being confused and fixed on Kaizen.
Kaizen continued to smile as he moved as far away from the Boss' area of attack as possible, knowing that the life of this creature had only come halfway through with all these blows.
The moment the monster tried to charge Kaizen with its four front paws, it felt braked by something stuck in its rear. The giant spider screamed angrily, insisting on its offensive against the man, but the metal tower neither moved nor creaked.
This was a crane made by great blacksmiths to withstand lifting tons of steel, so it wouldn't break easily just because a monster wanted it to.
Calmly, Kaizen picked up the Spear of Theus from the ground and sat down to eat the last remaining loaf of wheat bread in his inventory, watching the wrath of the Scarlet Demon Spider.
When the novice felt his belly complete, he saw that his MP bar was also at 100% and his fatigue slightly lower. So he stood up, positioned the spear over his right shoulder, held it with his right hand, filled his lungs, and emptied them, making good use of all his time. In the end, he hurled the spear toward the head of the Scarlet Demon Spider with as much force as he had.
Theus' Spear produced a high-pitched hiss cutting through the air, and the rookie used <Telekinesis> to not miss his target as he spun the spear.
His MP quickly zeroed out, but the spear flew as fast as thunder cuts through the sky, forming a trail in the air.
As soon as the spear hit the inside of the Boss, the rookie heard:
[Critical hit!]
[Critical hit!]
[Critical hit!]
The rotation technique that Kaizen tested when he pierced the creature from below was also used to apply massive damage. However, the spear's propellant didn't stop at that; that wouldn't be enough to kill a Boss with so much life.
[Super critical hit!]
The spear continued to spin inside the spider, doing as much damage as the passing of a cyclone, until a flickering message appeared in the middle of the Medullar Forge.
<strong>[Congratulations! The Boss of the Spider's Den in the Misty Woods has been killed!]</strong>
