Chapter 471: I’m not Strong Enough

Stephen walked into the house and saw his cousins and sisters talking with a few other people. He arched his eyebrows slightly and glanced at his grandfather imperceptibly.

Even though the world had changed, the thing that would never change was the need for people to communicate with each other. If they have enough connection and power, they would be able to arrange their lives better.

This was something that Stephen knew.

But seeing his sister being uncomfortable yet still had to force a smile on her face, Stephen felt annoyed.

"Sophia, come with me for a while," Stephen called out.

Sophia, who was really trying her best not to do anything unnecessary, quickly stood up when her brother called for her.

"Excuse me."

Walking out of the living room, Sophia took a deep breath. She's playful by nature and having to restrain herself when entertaining guests was really torturing for her. But if she were to make trouble, her grandfather would definitely punish her.

It was annoying.

"Thank you, Brother." ƒreewebηoveℓ.com

"You can refuse Grandfather if you don't want to," Stephen said slowly.

"Refuse?" Sophia shook her head. "Grandfather's majesty is not to be violated in the Carson Family. I think some of our uncles and aunts have already shown us what would happen if we dare to go against him."

Old Master Carson held the highest control of power in the Carson Family.

So even if their uncles and aunts were scheming against each other, they would never dare to point it towards their father (uncle). Because they knew that the moment they dared to scheme against him, they would never end well.

There were already more than enough evidences in the past.

As part of the younger generation, Sophia and Stephen didn't see much.

But it was enough.

They knew that their grandfather had a lot of control in the Carson Family.

"Try to negotiate with him. You're not just the useless young miss of the Carson Family… you're a beast master, Sophia," Stephen said slowly.

In the past, he knew that Sophia didn't have much talent for study and she herself didn't like it. The only thing that she liked was playing with her pets and with him and their father's ability, there was no problem for them to provide for her and let her life a good life.

The Carson Family was big and there was no need to use every single daughter as chess pieces for marriage.

Old Master Carson had already retired and didn't take care most of the businesses either.

But now, it's different.

The earthquake and magic beasts had killed some of the Carson Family members. And after they came to City A Base, their power was not the strongest and they had to rebuild everything.

Because of this, Old Master Carson started to set his eyes on every descendants available.

Sophia was included.

"I'm not strong enough," Sophia whispered in a low voice.

She always felt that it was enough for her to live a comfortable life with her father and brother protecting her.

But now…

She felt much more uncomfortable.

Sophia had already increased her training after Victoria's incident and now…

Sophia wished that she could train all day long.

*woof*

Inside her beast space, Melly barked. Only Sophia could see her and seeing Melly looking at her worriedly, Sophia's expression softened.

"Don't worry, Brother. I will be fine." Sophia gave a reassuring smile to her brother.

Stephen looked at his sister deeply for a while before nodding. "Alright. I'll be here if you need my help."

"Yes, Brother."

After a few more seconds of resting, Sophia walked inside again.

Stephen watched his sister's back and there was a gloom in his eyes. He knew very well what kind of person his grandfather is because he had been dealing with the other party for so many years.

If one wanted to stay in the Carson Family and had the power to negotiate something with him, they had to show him enough 'value.'

This is the only way for them to have the right to 'speak.'

"I'll get stronger too… don't worry, Sophia."

For his family and for himself, he had to become stronger. Thinking about this, Stephen made his way to the Jones Family Residence.

He wanted to talk with Samuel.

Riya headed back to the Jones Family Residence and saw that Samuel had returned.

"Samuel," Riya called out. "Have you finished with your work?"

They left for a month in that crack and Samuel had already finished his work?

He's so fast!

Samuel chuckled. "Most of things are handled by my father and he's doing a good job. I'm here because the government asked me to ask some things from you."

"Ah…"

Riya thought about the government and nodded with a wry smile. It seemed that she would have to work again after returning.

There's simply no break for her.

"They're asking for the meditation technique and had prepared the magic cores, but they asked to pay in installment," Samuel said.

Riya nodded. "It's fine."

Considering the government's current strength, Riya was more surprised that they dared to exchange it right away. After all, there were many things that required these resources.

"Also, they wanted to exchange for the weapon you showed…"

"Oh, I can't tell you the runes, but I can sell some of them…"

In the end, Samuel and Riya discussed about many things that the government asked and in exchange, Riya got a lot of resources. One of them was a few hundred tons of magic beasts' meat.

Seeing so many magic beast's corpses in the warehouse, Riya guessed that they have been sending it in the past month continuously.

"Many of these magic beasts' corpse can't be eaten." Samuel saw the races of these magic beasts and recognized them.

"They're either poisonous or didn't even have meat." Riya looked at the skeleton like magic beasts and shook her head. "But it's fine for me. I don't need them to eat."
