Chapter 1173: Family time (4)

I helplessly raised my hands before saying, "I just wanted to talk with you."

"With me?" The former crown prince narrowed his eyes.

There was a surprised tone that was in his voice when he said this.

With a simple nod, I said, "That's right. I just want to talk, nothing more, nothing less."

The former crown prince narrowed his eyes even more when he heard this, but he eventually gave a nod.

He wasn't a fool since he was someone that had once been the crown prince of the Merman Empire, he was someone that had been raised with the best resources since he was young.

He was someone that everyone thought would be the wise king of the Merman Empire, so it was only natural that he was able to see that there was something else to my words.

Only he still acted the part of a protective dad as he said, "Sweetie, go with your mommy and help your cousin. I'll have a talk with our guest in private."

Dicus looked like she wanted to say something, but eventually she went over to Zyra's side and followed her up the stairs.

The problem was that since we had merged our air bubbles together, we weren't actually able to separate ourselves without the use of the relic that created the air bubble.

In the end, Zyra brought Dicus who seemed unhappy with all of this upstairs and Ariel came into the living room with me to talk to the former crown prince.

As they headed up, I could see a few things from the gap that was left.

It seemed that the upstairs was Zyra's lab and there were quite a few dangerous things that were there. It was a surprise that they allowed Dicus to go up there, but I imagined that she would have been trained to a certain point if she was following her up there.

She had even come down from upstairs in the first place, so she must have been with her mother in the lab earlier.

Once they were gone and we were sitting alone with the former crown prince, he said, "Well? What did you want to talk about?" fгee𝑤ebɳoveɭ.cøm

He didn't even bring us any tea or anything, he just simply asked us what we were doing here.

It seemed that he had run out of patience and was thinking about sending us away if what I told him wasn't to his liking.

So I didn't beat around the bush as I directly said, "I would like you to come back with me and talk to your brother."

"Huh?" The former crown prince looked completely caught off guard when he heard this. The look on his face made it clear that what I said was the last thing that he had expected. There was a moment of silence that lingered in the air as he slowly came back to his senses and when he did, he narrowed his eyes to look at me as if he was trying to see if I was being serious or not.

With the calm look that I gave him, he was sure that I was being serious which just made him even more surprised.

After a long silence, the former crown prince finally said, "Are you joking? How could my stubborn brother ever agree to talk to me?" He turned to Ariel to say, "You should know what kind of person your father is and you're telling me that he wants to talk to me?"

Ariel couldn't help slowly nodding in agreement to this.

That made the former crown prince look even more skeptical as he said, "If that's all that you have to say, then I think that there's nothing else that we need to discuss."

I didn't panic as I calmly said, "How are you so sure that he hasn't changed?"

The former crown prince had been about to stand up to leave when he heard this. He slowly turned back to look at me with one brow raised in doubt, but he didn't say anything when he saw the calm and serious look that was on my face.

After another pause, he finally asked, "What are you really here for? If it was just that, I doubt that you would be going this far for my brother."

"I'm here to broker peace between the Merman Empire and the sea witches." This time, I didn't hide it. I knew that there was nothing to gain from hiding this, so it was better to tell him the truth.

There was a strange look that appeared on the former crown prince's face when he heard this. The way that he looked at me was almost as if he was looking at someone crazy. Though I didn't blame him since I would have had the same expression if someone were to say this to me.

After a while, he said with a sigh, "It seems that it's been a waste of time after all."

I suddenly took out something that immediately made him fall silent once again.

As he stared at the button that I suddenly pulled out, I said, "What if I told you that there was someone else who told me to do this."

He didn't say anything as he continued looking at the button.

With the way that he looked at the button that I was holding, it was as if he recognized it.

I was a bit surprised by this, but the former crown prince alleviated my doubts by saying, "I used to be the former crown prince of the Merman Empire, the things that I've seen are more than you think. If I wasn't able to recognize the aura of something like this, then I wouldn't have been a good former crown prince. I would naturally recognize the aura of the god that is worshiped by the Merman Empire."

Then narrowing his eyes, he looked at me to ask, "It's just I have to wonder, why do you have one of the relics of that god?"
