Chapter 1Vol 5. : The Summer Breeze

*Son of Thunder*

Rosvisser’s due date was approaching, and the entire family was eagerly preparing for the new arrival.

In truth, though, childbirth was a matter where others could offer little practical help. Their contributions mostly boiled down to providing emotional support or simply being busy for the sake of being busy.

Then one day, the queen made a proposal:

“Why don’t we decide on a name for the baby before the birth?”

This single, clear suggestion gave the entire household a common purpose. Leon, the children, and everyone else suddenly had a tangible task to focus on.

On a bright, sunny morning, the family gathered under the gazebo in the front courtyard of the sanctuary. Moon and Aurora carried out a colorful sign they had made together.

The sign read: **“The Melkvey Family’s Third Council Meeting.”**

The number "three" was visibly patched on later, hastily cut from different-sized paper, showing the girls’ penchant for shortcuts. Instead of redoing the entire sign, they had simply edited their previous work from the second meeting.

It was a minor detail, but Leon, as their father, thought proudly: *That cleverness runs in the family.*

Aurora, the youngest, who hadn’t been born during the first two meetings, curiously asked,

“What did you guys talk about in the last two meetings?”

Moon crossed her arms and thought for a moment. “The first meeting was to vote on whether Mom and Dad should move into the same room. The second was to decide what your name would be. Yeah, those were the topics.”

Aurora raised a brow, her bright eyes wide with surprise.

“Wait, Dad didn’t sleep in the same room with Mom?”

Moon nodded earnestly.

“Nope! Back then, Dad always slept in the nursery. They only moved in together after Mom got pregnant with you.”

Aurora tilted her head, intrigued.

“Is that so...”

For the first time, the mischievous youngest daughter felt she had been born too late.

*If only I’d arrived earlier,* she thought, *I might have witnessed those two being all awkward and secretly sweet while trying to keep their distance.*

Aurora shook off the thought and quickly asked,

“Then, you all held a meeting just to pick my name, but ended up with something as simple as Aurora?!”

“No, no!” Moon waved her hands, “That meeting ended without a decision because of an... incident.”

The “incident” referred to the day Rosvisser went into labor and Konstantin, acting under orders from the empire, launched an attack. Rosvisser had fended him off and left him dangling at their doorstep.

Not long after, Leon had returned to the empire to investigate the matter of a traitor, leaving Rosvisser to recover in a nearby forest. It was Uncle Nine who had managed everything for five hectic days before finally giving Aurora her full name: Orshala.

However, due to Leon constantly mispronouncing it as “Orquaqua,” the couple had ultimately decided on Aurora as a simpler nickname, inspired by the auroras of the northern skies.

“Alright, the third family meeting is now in session,” Leon announced, clapping his hands and placing a whiteboard on the stone table under the gazebo.

“Today’s topic: naming the fourth child.”

The family dove {N•o•v•e•l•i•g•h•t} into discussion with enthusiasm.

Rosvisser sat at the table with the three daughters, all of them poised like executives at an important business meeting. The atmosphere was surprisingly serious for a family discussion.

Moon raised her hand excitedly.

“Me! Me! I’ve got so many ideas!”

“Alright, Moon, go ahead.”

“Star! Let’s name them Star!” Moon exclaimed, barely able to contain her excitement.

Leon raised a brow. “What’s with your obsession with stars?”

“What’s wrong with stars? Aurora, don’t you think Star sounds beautiful?”

Aurora, eager to give her sister some support, nodded. “It’s... nice. Yeah, nice.”

“See? Aurora agrees! We should’ve named her Star back then!”

Aurora froze, pointing at herself.

“Wait, Star was originally supposed to be my name?”

“Of course!”

“Thank goodness... thank you, Mom, Dad, and Big Sis, for sparing me that name.”

“What’s wrong with it?” Moon pouted. “Star totally fits a divine being like me!”

“Then how about something similar to Star, like... Stella?”

Leon grimaced slightly. “Not Stella.”

Moon tilted her head, confused.

“Why not, Dad?”

“Your father has a general under his command with a dragon named Stella,” Rosvisser interjected with a smirk. “It wouldn’t feel right to give the baby that name.”

“Oh... okay,” Moon conceded.

“I think Blaze would be a good name,” Noa suggested.

“Big Sis, you’re one to talk!” Moon retorted. “That name is just as wild as Star!”

“Blaze isn’t wild,” Noa shot back. “Aurora, what do you think of Blaze?”

Aurora, having learned from her earlier mistake, cautiously replied, “Um... it’s... fine, I guess?”

“See? It’s a great name!” Noa grinned. “It’s a shame we didn’t name you Blaze, Aurora.”

“That’s no shame at all, Big Sis.”

“You’re right. Blaze is way too wild for someone like me,” Aurora declared.

At this point, the meeting felt less about naming the new baby and more like a chance for Aurora to roast her sisters’ ideas.

“Alright, Aurora, do you have any ideas?” Rosvisser asked.

Aurora grew serious for once, thoughtfully tapping her chin.

“Violet... or Muse.”

Leon and Rosvisser exchanged a glance before nodding slightly. It seemed the youngest was the most reliable this time.

“What made you think of those names, Aurora?” Moon asked, curious.

Aurora leaned on the gazebo’s railing, gazing at the garden as a gentle breeze rustled the flowers and trees. freёweɓnovel.com

“Violet means ‘eternal beauty and love.’ It also symbolizes the coolness of summer,” she said, turning back to the family. “Since the baby is going to be born this summer, Violet seems like a fitting name.”

Noa and Moon exchanged looks.

“That’s definitely better than Blaze,” Noa admitted.

“And better than Star,” Moon added.

Rosvisser chuckled softly.

“And what about Muse?”

“Oh, that’s from a book I’ve been reading,” Aurora replied. “In it, Muse was an ancient goddess of art and music, known for her dancing and singing at divine gatherings.”

She paused before adding, “Recently, we’ve been hearing music from Mom’s piano room—along with some... other sounds. Something we’ve never heard before, but it was strangely energizing.”

Aurora shrugged.

“Whether it’s graceful piano music or whatever that other instrument was, they’re both artistic in their own way. So if this baby ends up loving art or music, Muse would be a great name.”

Her explanation was so thorough that the parents decided to choose between Violet and Muse for their new baby.

As the warm midday breeze swept through, Rosvisser rested a hand on her rounded belly, and Leon placed an arm around her shoulders.

Meanwhile, the three dragon daughters busied themselves behind them, doodling on the whiteboard.

This harmonious, loving family was soon to welcome its newest member.
