Chapter 9Vol 5. : The Buff of a Daughter-Con
Leon and Rosvisser met with the Tower Master and Odin at the top of the Twilight Tower.
After a brief exchange of pleasantries, the Tower Master outlined the plans for the upcoming event.
“Your Highness, this duel between you and Odin is a once-in-a-century spectacle. I’ve invited numerous Dragon Kings and renowned elders to witness it.”
“I will personally create an independent battleground using spatial magic so that you can fight without any constraints or concerns about the surroundings.”
“The match will take place in three days. What do you think, Your Highness?”
Like Odin earlier, Leon found it slightly strange that others had been invited to watch what he assumed would be a private sparring match. However, knowing the nature of dragons, he wasn’t entirely surprised. Dragons loved drama and any excuse to gather and speculate.
Leon exchanged a glance with Rosvisser, and the two gave each other a subtle nod.
“No problem, Tower Master,” Leon replied smoothly. “While my original intent was simply to spar with Odin, I appreciate the effort you’ve gone through. I’ll follow your arrangements.”
Leon’s response was polished, striking a balance between acknowledging the Tower Master’s efforts and asserting his initial purpose. It left no room for misinterpretation or offense. frёewebnoѵēl.com
“Excellent,” the Tower Master said, beaming. “During these three days, Your Highness and the Silver Dragon Queen are welcome to explore Sky City. All expenses will be covered by the Twilight Tower.”
Rosvisser raised an eyebrow, her curiosity piqued. “When you say you’ll create a battleground, does that mean it hasn’t been constructed yet? Can it be finished in just three days?”
The Tower Master chuckled and shook his head. “No, Your Majesty. What I meant is that I’ll use spatial magic to create a completely independent combat zone. This ensures you can fight to your heart’s content without impacting the real world.”
“Spatial magic...” Rosvisser murmured, her elegant eyebrows furrowing slightly as she exchanged a glance with Leon.
The couple was no stranger to spatial magic.
Years ago, during the second siege on the dragons, the Star-Wandering Dragon King, Ravi, had led a group of spatial mages in an attempt to eliminate Rosvisser. Although Ravi had been no match for Leon and Rosvisser in raw power, his final act had been to detonate his own protective dragon scales, opening a chaotic spatial rift.
Leon had stepped into that rift, using the remnants of his strength to contain it and prevent it from endangering his daughters and others. That event had catapulted him thirty years into a future where Leon Cosmod didn’t exist—a future in which he met his grown daughters. It was only through Aurora’s reverse magic that Leon managed to return to his timeline and rewrite his fate.
That harrowing experience had left both Leon and Rosvisser with a lingering wariness of spatial magic.
The Tower Master, noticing their unease, quickly added, “You needn’t worry. My spatial magic is entirely different from that of the Star-Wandering Dragon King. I assure you, I won’t be detonating my dragon scales or creating any chaotic rifts.”
Though he attempted humor, his joke didn’t land well, especially given the couple’s history.
Leon gave a polite, albeit strained smile. “I appreciate the reassurance.”
The Tower Master turned his gaze to the small girl partially hidden behind Leon’s frame. Muse, dressed in a bright red robe, peeked out shyly, half of her tiny face visible.
Noticing the attention, Leon scooped Muse into his arms and said, “Muse, say hello to the Tower Master.”
“Ah ya ah ya~ Not hing~!” Muse babbled enthusiastically.
The Tower Master blinked in surprise. “Your Highness, what does ‘not hing’ mean?”
Leon laughed, gently pinching his daughter’s cheek. “It’s her way of saying ‘That’s not okay.’ She picked it up on the way here.”
The Tower Master chuckled. “The young princess is quite gifted. I’m certain she’ll grow up to be as remarkable as her sisters.”
His compliment felt somewhat formulaic, but Leon and Rosvisser accepted it graciously.
“Muse is your fourth daughter, correct?” the Tower Master asked.
“That’s right,” Leon replied. “Her name was actually suggested by our third daughter.”
“Your daughters are truly exceptional, Leon. Especially your eldest, Noa—she’s earned high praise from many, including Yuna.”
“Yuna?” Leon tilted his head curiously.
“Odin’s only child,” the Tower Master explained. “She’s also a senior at Saint Sis Academy, where she once teamed up with Noa during an outdoor trial in the Far North. According to Yuna, Noa singlehandedly turned the tide against the stone giant guarding the Original Dragon Kings’ ruins. She saved Yuna and their team during a critical moment.”
Leon smiled warmly. “Noa is a hardworking child and has always been more mature than her peers.”
“I’ve heard that Noa, like you, specializes in lightning magic,” the Tower Master continued.
“That’s correct,” Leon said. “Her elemental affinity is the same as mine.”
Odin, who had been listening quietly, broke into a rare smile. “I once feared that the legacy of lightning magic within the dragon tribes would be lost. Even my daughter Yuna wields fire magic, not lightning. It’s reassuring to see talents like you and Noa carrying on the tradition.”
His smile was genuine, and his words carried an unmistakable pride.
“I hope this sparring match will help you elevate your mastery of lightning magic, Leon,” Odin said earnestly.
Leon hadn’t expected such heartfelt support from Odin, who had always struck him as a stoic traditionalist. The old dragon’s dedication to preserving the art of lightning magic explained the deep respect he commanded among the dragon tribes.
The Tower Master interjected, “Speaking of Noa, I’ve sent an invitation to Saint Sis Academy. They’re sending one student and one teacher to observe the duel. They should be arriving soon.”
Leon’s eyes narrowed slightly. “Tower Master... would that student happen to be my eldest daughter?”
The Tower Master laughed mischievously. “Who knows? You’ll find out when they arrive!”
Odin, unaware of the potential chaos Noa’s presence might bring, remained focused on the duel. Little did he know that the Silver Dragon Princess would provide Leon with an extraordinary, if °• N 𝑜 v 𝑒 l i g h t •° unintentional, advantage.
Some people were just born with the “daughter-con buff.”

Meanwhile, at Sky City’s entrance, two figures approached. The breeze caught the girl’s fiery red hair, making it dance as she walked. Her black eyes, deep and focused, lifted to take in the bustling dragon metropolis.
“Father, will I really meet the person I must defeat someday?” the girl asked.
“Of course,” Constantine replied. “Knowing him, he’s bound to bring his daughter along.”
He stepped forward, his expression resolute. “Let’s go, Hefei.”
“Yes, Father.”
