Chapter 831

Chapter 831: The Clear Mirror of the National Teacher (44)

Shi Sheng flew up again, and Feng Qingqing also rose into the air at the same time. They stood in mid-air, facing each other from a distance.

“Feng Zhinyin, your time has come!”

A strange smile appeared on Shi Sheng’s lips as she swung her sword without saying a word.

The sky suddenly changed color and the light dimmed. The clear sky just now was instantly covered by dark clouds.

Feng Qingqing didn’t understand what Shi Sheng was doing, but her black sword remained motionless in her hand.

“Boom…”

Thunderous sounds came rolling like thousands of horses galloping. The earth trembled under their feet as thick purple lightning rolled in the dark clouds above them.

As Feng Qingqing watched the sky, lightning suddenly struck without warning and headed straight towards her.

The speed of the thunderbolt was faster than she had imagined. It seemed to be still in the sky when she first saw it but it was already upon her before she could blink an eye. She had no time to dodge so she used her black sword to block it instead.

The purple lightning hit the black sword and pierced through the black energy condensed around it, which quickly closed back up but became noticeably weaker than before.

The purple lightning wasn’t only aimed at Feng Qingqing; it attacked indiscriminately. But because these bolts could be absorbed by her iron sword, they did not strike Shi Sheng directly.

Feng Qingqing’s black energy grew weaker with every passing moment until there seemed to be nothing left of it; then suddenly, like someone who had lost all reason for living, she charged towards Shi Sheng–hoping that if she died then maybe Shi Sheng would die too!

Several bolts of purple lightning fell from above, blocking Feng Qinqing’s path just as they reached where Shi Sheng should have been standing moments ago; however, there was no trace of her now while Feng Qinqing was surrounded by lightning.

Shi Sheng stood below, looking up at the sky.

From below, this scene was absolutely stunning; even ten-thousand-dollar special effects couldn’t match it.

When necessary, just use your ultimate move and kill her!

All that gradual progression stuff is bullshit.

[…] Don’t play tricks with the host because you’ll end up being tricked yourself.

The black sword had been weakened but did not disappear. Suddenly, it broke away from Feng Qingqing, as if it had its own will, and flew through the thunderstorm carrying destructive power as it shot down from above.

“Fight to the death?” Shi Sheng sneered. She raised her iron sword and made what seemed like a casual swing, but in reality, she poured all of her strength into it, causing an invisible sword energy to collide with the black sword head-on.

In that instant, everything seemed to slow down as if someone had pressed slow-motion on a remote control. There were no violent sounds but the black sword disappeared before their eyes at a speed invisible to the naked eye–as though it never existed in the first place.

Shi Sheng propped herself up with her iron sword while taking deep breaths, trying to suppress the bloody aura inside of her body.

Finally managed to outsmart this baby once again…

She thought Feng Qingqing’s death pose looked strange when she saw Mu Bai die earlier; little did she know that he was waiting for her here all along!

Okay then Mu Bai, you have successfully caught my attention now!

Without the black sword, Feng Qingqing appeared more vulnerable than ever before; unable even withstand one bolt of purple lightning which sent her crashing down from mid-air onto ground below.

The dark clouds still hung overhead but there were fewer bolts of lightning now compared to earlier.

Two old men watching from afar: “…Is this over?”

This fight was too complicated for them to understand!

But Feng Qingqing…

The two old men quickly rushed towards where Feng Qingqing had fallen, lying on the ground barely breathing.

They looked at each other and took out their weapons.

Feng Qingqing didn’t die, but was taken away and imprisoned by someone for reasons unknown to Shi Sheng, nor did she want to know. With all the people that Feng Qingqing killed, her protagonist halo was probably long gone. She would likely be imprisoned for life.

After dealing with Feng Qingqing, Shi Sheng went back to the Feng household. When talking about Feng Qingqing with the Feng Patriarch, Shi Sheng asked him why he hated her so much. The Feng Patriarch only said that her mother had killed his wife and didn’t say anything else.

Shi Sheng wasn’t interested in delving into the female lead’s storyline; it wasn’t something she needed to do according to her wishes.

She stayed at the Feng household for a while before leaving with Feng Ci and preparing to wander around.

“Are you not going to see Emperor Jun?” The head of the Feng family sent Shi Sheng off and asked tentatively.

“I’m just a stranger to him; there’s no need,” replied Shi Sheng, shaking her head. She had no obligation to help complete tasks that weren’t part of the original host’s wishes.

“Ah…” The head of the Feng family sighed helplessly. “National Teacher…I’ll leave Xiaoyin in your care; I hope you treat her well.”

Yin Wei held onto Shi Sheng’s hand before slightly tilting his head and saying: “I will.”

He was someone who had searched for many years before finding this person whom he now treasured like a gemstone–naturally he would take good care of her!

“The Feng family will always be your home; come back anytime.” Patriarch Feng nodded his head, waving his hand. He probably didn’t want Shi Sheng to see his reluctant side, so he turned around and left first.

Shi Sheng held Yin Wei’s hand as they walked out of the door. “Let’s go to the Misty Pool Abyss[1] first.”

“Wherever you want to go,” replied Yin Wei.

“You’re looking for death! Can’t you do anything right? Take these things over there…” A scolding voice interrupted them.

Shi Sheng slightly tilted her head and saw a stooped figure being pulled by someone–that was probably Feng Wu.

Feng Yu spread rumors about Shi Sheng which were heard by the Feng family head; Feng Yu was executed directly. Later, it somehow implicated Feng Wu who, although not dead, had been having a hard time in the Feng family ever since.

Shi Sheng calmly withdrew her gaze just like she did back at Demon Flame Ridge; she didn’t have any emotions towards him, as if he was an unimportant passerby…

Yin Wei’s lifespan wasn’t long, probably because he had once made a same-life contract with a demon. What Yin Wei did most often was hug her while watching the stars and moon before falling asleep heavily, only to wake up finding himself lying on the bed again the next day.

Sometimes Yin Wei would be afraid, but whenever Shi Sheng looked into his eyes, those emotions would disappear without a trace, replaced with tranquility.

She wouldn’t leave him alone!

Shi Sheng knew that his life was coming to an end but she didn’t act crazy or anything; she just calmly accompanied him until he completely lost all signs of life.

She took off the watch from his wrist and helped him change into new clothes before carrying him into the tomb chamber that had already been prepared beforehand. The tomb door silently closed behind her.

The scene outside suddenly changed, turning into a lake where blue waves rippled; reflecting white clouds against a blue sky–everything was peaceful and calm.

The twenty-fourth plane had ended.
