Chapter 63: Fierce Battle with the Blood Pattern Rabbit

Chapter 63: Chapter 63: Fierce Battle with the Blood Pattern Rabbit

The crossbow bolt shot straight towards the Blood Pattern Rabbit’s forehead just as it was landing, unable to jump away in time.

The Blood Pattern Rabbit’s eyes met Xu Xin’s, and the venomous arrow was already before its eyes!

The venomous arrow pierced in just as the rabbit’s shrill scream echoed, the iron arrowhead of the bolt stabbing into the rabbit’s head, causing it to tilt back.

"Silver King, go!" Xu Xin didn’t think a little snake venom would have a significant effect on these monsters. While commanding Silver King, he strode forward with a stone spear, thrusting directly towards the Blood Pattern Rabbit’s body!

The Blood Pattern Rabbit was still inside the altar. Silver King was somewhat afraid of the altar, but with its master Xu Xin already advancing, it naturally couldn’t retreat. With a wolf howl, it pounced directly.

However, both the man and the wolf hit nothing but air. The Blood Pattern Rabbit reacted extremely fast, kicking its legs back and jumping several meters, dodging Xu Xin’s stone spear and Silver King’s claws.

The venomous arrow was still lodged in the Blood Pattern Rabbit’s forehead. With a brushing motion on the ground, it forcibly pulled out the fully embedded arrowhead from its flesh. Its sword-sharp ears scratched two deep marks on the stone ground, red blood seeping from the forehead wound.

The venomous arrow seemed to only slow the rabbit’s movements momentarily before losing its effect.

Glancing at the two marks on the ground, Xu Xin squinted slightly. Those ears are so sharp!

He gripped the stone spear tightly, the tip always facing the direction of the Blood Pattern Rabbit.

Suddenly, the Blood Pattern Rabbit made a big leap, rising into the air and disappearing into the forest behind Xu Xin.

With the rabbit out of sight, Xu Xin immediately felt a bit tense.

"What’s happening? Did it run?" He checked the map and saw the red dot representing the Blood Pattern Rabbit erratically darting around the altar, even stirring up those few red dots Xu Xin had been avoiding.

From the forest came the rumbling roar of a tiger, along with the Blood Pattern Rabbit’s shrill scream. Following this, Xu Xin saw a huge Blood Pattern Rabbit suddenly spring into the sky overhead.

"Looks like the Blood Pattern Rabbit isn’t a match for the tiger in a head-on fight." Xu Xin’s heart slightly eased, realizing the rabbit’s strength wasn’t that formidable, which made sense as a rabbit was relatively weak among the four pillars here.

He knew this creature was extremely fast and killing it wouldn’t be easy, but ignoring it might lead to unknown troubles in the forest from such a peculiar creature.

The rabbit’s screams and tiger roars were drawing nearer. Xu Xin’s face changed; could this wretched rabbit be leading the tiger over here?

Xu Xin quickly mounted Silver King, ready to flee if things went south.

Although the tiger was fast with explosive power, it lacked endurance. If it really chased this way, it would likely be exhausted, allowing Xu Xin to ride away on Silver King without issue; maybe even have a chance to take down the panting tiger.

Tigers rely on explosive ambushes for hunting. If an ambush fails, they usually don’t continue the chase.

Xu Xin checked the map and found the tiger gave up the chase after just a few steps, finally exhaling in relief.

"Ying!" Keke pointed in a direction and cried out.

Xu Xin checked the map and found the rabbit’s red dot rapidly moving toward the altar from that direction.

"Get behind that tree!" Xu Xin pointed to a tree on the edge. Silver King leaped over in a single bound, hiding behind it, "Keke, you hide in the tree!"

"Ying!" Keke jumped into the tree in a few swift moves.

Xu Xin gripped the stone spear tightly, eyes fixed on the map. As the red dot approached, he suddenly appeared, thrusting the stone spear fiercely at the approaching Blood Pattern Rabbit.

The Blood Pattern Rabbit was fast, unable to halt in time, only managing to avoid critical areas as it screamed and collided with the stone spear’s sharp tip.

"Puchi!"

The stone spear, aided by the rabbit’s speed, easily pierced through the right side of the Blood Pattern Rabbit, impaling it on the spear. Silver King seized the chance, pouncing to bite the rabbit’s neck.

The Blood Pattern Rabbit shrieked in pain, its sword-like ears suddenly slicing toward Silver King!

"Silver King!" Xu Xin yanked the stone spear from the rabbit’s body, blood gushing from the wound. The rabbit’s movement froze, and Silver King withdrew its bite, dodging the attack, leaving two deep blood holes on the rabbit’s neck, blood spurting out.

The rabbit’s eyes turned even redder, its red and white fur standing on end. Instead of fleeing, it maneuvered its ears to strike at Xu Xin.

Xu Xin raised his stone spear to block the strike, but the wooden spear handle only delayed the rabbit ears’ attack momentarily before being cut into three pieces.

He quickly retreated to dodge, yet the rabbit ears still etched two shallow lines on his iron armor, continuing their assault.

Silver King seized the opportunity, charging to knock the Blood Pattern Rabbit off balance.

"Well done!" Xu Xin drew the altar knife, slicing at the rabbit’s ear.

There was little resistance as the ear was sliced into two by the black-red knife.

Half of the rabbit ear fell to the ground, and the Blood Pattern Rabbit let out a piercing scream. The smell of blood made its already red eyes even redder, with the severed ear and the other shaking wildly.

It showed no intention of running, starting to circle Xu Xin rapidly, looking for a chance to pounce.

Though wearing blue-grade iron armor, Xu Xin dared not be careless. The rabbit’s ears were incredibly sharp, merely scraping the edge left two marks on his armor. A direct strike might really cut through.

The rabbit was extremely fast, and Xu Xin couldn’t predict which direction it would attack from. Gritting his teeth, he decided to take a risk, using his iron armor and blue-grade hemostatic herbs as insurance; even seriously injured, he could recover.

The Blood Pattern Rabbit, already covered in injuries, left a trail of blood around Xu Xin as it moved quickly. He knew it was at its limits, yet he couldn’t underestimate the power a desperate beast could unleash.

Holding a broken spearhead and a black-red knife, he suddenly stepped forward.

As if detecting Xu Xin’s flaw, the Blood Pattern Rabbit, revolving around him, suddenly kicked back, leaping at him, its remaining ear like a sharp sword stabbing straight at him!

Xu Xin anticipated the rabbit’s move, gaining a fraction of a second to react, but couldn’t completely evade such a swift attack. He could only avoid critical areas, pointing the broken spear at the charging rabbit.

The sword-like ear struck Xu Xin’s iron armor. The armor only stalled it momentarily before the ear pierced through, stabbing into Xu Xin’s right shoulder!

Despite the transient hindrance from the armor, it granted Xu Xin enough time to react. His left hand wielded the black-red knife, slashing upward at the rabbit ear. The severe pain in his shoulder intensified his grip.

"Die already!"

Xu Xin slashed hard, severing the remaining rabbit ear instantly. The Blood Pattern Rabbit stumbled, its piercing scream cut short by the sharp spearhead and Silver King’s razor-sharp teeth.

The screams ceased abruptly, the rabbit collapsed on the ground, blood spraying from its neck, with a broken spearhead lodged in its head.
