Chapter 11 Poor Shark

Chapter 11 Poor Shark

The "big fish" that wantonly devoured small fish in the sea and convinced most of the rest not to settle down nearby was none other than Chen Fan’s electric eel avatar.

For the past two months, with Chen Fan's arduous efforts, the eel had grown from two meters and 100 kilos to eight meters and over 600 kilos. Eight meters long was two meters longer than the shark. Chen Fan could now release a charge of up to 2,000 volts, and his electromagnetic induction could reach 30 meters. How strong was 2,000 volts? Hmm...friends who were interested to know could dismantle their socket and touch it with their hands, then multiply that feeling by eight.

A gentleman would bide his time and wait for the right opportunity to seek revenge, but Chen Fan thought himself a weasel, so he decided to seek revenge now. Chen Fan’s new speed made his previous pace feel like a snail’s in comparison. It took him less than two hours for a journey that used to take him over six. Chen Fan was elated.

As he swam in the deep sea, he noticed a change in the appearance of the surrounding creatures. When he was two meters long, he was like a little shrimp that could be bullied by anyone. Now, they were the shrimp and Chen Fan the willing bully.

When the shipwreck appeared before him, Chen Fan approached determined to kill. "Ho ho, little shark, Brother Chen Fan is here to play with you!" Chen Fan started to release a charge when he was still 30 meters away from the shipwreck.

The shark was not out wandering today, so Chen Fan was not disappointed. Although the charge he released weakened slightly as it traveled the 30 meters to the shark, it was still strong enough to provoke it. The brutal fish rushed out from the shipwreck with a murderous look, ready to… hmm… it was dumbstruck! Wasn’t that long black sea serpent-like creature in front of it the same fella it almost ate a few months earlier?

He… how did he grow so long in two months? What did he do, eat fish feed?

"Little thing. Come bite me. Come on!" Seeing the clearly hesitant shark in front of him, Chen Fan reduced the amount of electricity he was releasing, reverting back to the charge he released two months prior. He swung his tail casually, trying to provoke the shark. Although it had a fiery temper, it was not a brainless fool. It fully understood the situation it was in.

Chen Fan’s tail was tiring, but the shark was still swimming at a distance and did not dare come forward. Chen Fan did not have the patience to waste time. The shipwreck before him was like a magnet, pulling his attention.

"You blockhead!" Chen Fan cursed and then shot forward to attack. The electric eel was approaching; the competition between the intelligences of shark and human would soon be over!

Aware that there was no nauseating electricity, the six meter long shark was very confident it could bite off the eel’s head in the first attack. The slender black electric eel looked amateurish with its twisting and turning attack. It was so slow!

The shark as large as a bull on the other hand and had such instantaneous explosive power that sprinter Usain Bolt would stop and stare. Its abrupt acceleration could leave a cheetah far behind. It was terrifying yet breathtaking! The shark hurtled thirty meters in a second.

Last time they met, Chen Fan could flee before a head on fight. A careful person would not battle unprepared! Since he dared to act so boldly this time, he must have been very confident. The shark chuckled to itself as it entered the ten-meter range and only felt a weak charge. It did not understand that Chen Fan was only using this charge to sense his surroundings.

When the shark was close to Chen Fan, still moving at lightning speed, it felt the slightly numbing charge suddenly shoot to the eel’s maximum. In that moment, the muscles in its whole body spasmed before its brain could react. The shark rolled its white belly across Chen Fan before sinking to the bottom of the sea.

"Dumbass! You think you are more intelligent than a human?" Fully relying on electromagnetic induction, Chen Fan did not bother to look at the fish even once. Having solved his shark problem, he could now enter the shipwreck to get the treasure.

After twisting and turning into the ship’s hold, dodging shells and seaweed everywhere, Chen Fan was completely stunned by what he saw. His mouth fell open and bubbles formed. At the bottom of the ship’s hold beneath shattered pottery lay neat stacks of porcelain, still white and pretty even after hundreds of years.

"Oh. My. G-god! Since you have given me the chance to strike it rich, how...how could I not act on it?" At that instant, Chen Fan was overwhelmed by the huge amount of wealth in front of him and fluttered emotionally for a while before calming down. Although Chen Fan did not possess professional knowledge of antiques, he knew that the value of porcelain did not increase with its size but with its detail. It was the small items with exquisite workmanship that could fetch sky high prices.

There was so much porcelain in the ship’s hold that Chen Fan had a hard time choosing from it. The small white glazed bowl, the flower plate with a lady painted on it, the narrow-necked flagon… Looking left and right, Chen Fan really had no idea which one to take. Be it in ancient or modern times, the products that China exported to the rest of the word were usually the pick of the bunch. The stuff in the ship’s hold looked a dozen times more exquisite and beautiful than the porcelain Chen Fan saw in antique shops.
