Chapter 237 Awakening and teleportation

Chapter 237 Awakening and teleportation

After the first sign of waking up soon, it took several more hours before Arabel finally regained consciousness and barely opened her eyes.

Her thoughts were in turmoil. She didn't understand what had happened or how she ended up in this state. My head was buzzing, my eyes were watering and itching, and my whole body ached from pain. It was almost the same feeling, but a little weaker than when she woke up after the ascension trial.

Just like then, after a while, she was flooded with memories of what had happened and what she remembered she hadn't done and couldn't have done in her right mind.

When the other two beings in the tent noticed that Arabel was awake, they shuddered in fear.

Sob Sob Sob

"Dan, I-" Arabel began, sobbing, but Idan stopped her.

"Don't apologize, Belle," he sighed with relief, realizing that Arabel seemed to remember everything.

"I know it's because of this side effect."

"Dan… I'm afraid," Arabel said softly after some time of silence and sobbing.

"I can feel it. Every time I think I can control these impulses, instead of disappearing, the effect only gets stronger..."

Idan listened silently and attentively to what Arabel was saying.

"And this time, when I heard the notification from System, I knew it wasn't related to you. But a simple thought flashed through my mind. A tiny thought of doubt, and at the same moment I lost control of myself. If before I could be aware and influence the situation, this time it was different. I completely lost control and didn't even know what I was doing. Only now, after waking up, did I realize what I was trying to do."

Arabel was horrified when the memories of what happened after losing control came back to her. She saw it all in great detail.

Her gaze fell on Coco, who lay like a statue next to her head. She even held her breath and closed her eyes.

Despite this, Arabel could clearly feel Coco's accelerated heartbeat and trembling.

She knew from her memories that Coco was the first one to suffer from her outburst. From the strong intent to kill and the energy of madness, the poor girl's mind could not stand it, and she fainted right in her arms. And even after that, Arabel, without hesitation, continued to hug her little body.

"Coco..." Arabel called, and, overcoming the pain in her body, she reached out and gently hugged the little fox cub she loved.

"I'm sorry, Coco. I'm sorry..." Arabel begged for forgiveness, sobbing, hugging Coco and stroking her soft fur. "I didn't want to do that. I didn't understand what I was doing..."

Coco opened her eyes, hearing Arabel's apologies and gentle strokes. She looked at her Mistress's tear-stained face and, using her beast instincts, felt that Arabel was sincere. And this was exactly the Arabel she liked, not the one she was afraid of and thought was crazy.

Coco lifted her head and licked Arabel's face, which made her feel a little ticklish. But Arabel did not take her hand away, but continued to apologize and gently stroke Coco.

"Belle..." Idan finally spoke, giving Arabel the opportunity to apologize to Coco for a while longer.

"I know it's not easy for you because of this side effect, and I can't imagine how hard it is. But I believe in you. I'm sure you'll be able to handle it all," Idan said with confidence in his voice.

Hearing such words from Idan, Arabel felt joy inside. However, this feeling lasted only a few seconds until she started thinking about her condition again.

"Rest a little more. I'll make you something to eat," Idan said, about to get up, but stopped and looked at Arabel.

"If you feel better by the evening, let's go to Junonia for a day," he suggested.

Arabel was surprised by this unexpected suggestion, she glanced at Idan, waiting for an explanation.

"I want to see the culprit and understand what happened to him over the last week," Idan explained. Arabel immediately guessed who he was talking about, and only then realized who had caused their system to have a new function.

"Okay, — Arabel agreed, and her thoughts immediately filled with various assumptions about Nemo.

Idan had already told Arabel about the rules for moving between their world and Junonia. Therefore, she knew that after teleporting to Junonia, they would need to wait one full earth day in their world before they could return back.

Idan quickly prepared a light but nutritious meal for Arabel and brought it directly to her. She happily began to eat, because she had managed to get hungry during the day without consciousness.

In the late afternoon, when Arabel felt a little better and was able to get up and move around on her own, they packed up all their belongings and put them in the vault. Idan called Ned back to his Star, and Arabel gently hugged Coco and stroked her from time to time. She even gave him two candies to make amends.

"System, isn't Nemo still in Junonia?" asked Idan.

[Yes, Host. Your Champion is still in Junonia.] the System has confirmed.

"Teleport us to him and warn him about our visit, if possible, — Idan asked.

[Host. It will take some time to teleport. During this time, System will establish a connection between the worlds and alert the Champion so that he is ready to meet you.]

[The teleportation preparation process has begun. The countdown is 10 minutes.]

"Great.", — Idan said and, looking at Arabel, extended his hand to her.

"Are you ready?" he asked.

"Yes, I'm ready," Arabel said confidently, taking Idan's hands.

Holding hands, wearing their Ghost masks, they waited for the countdown to end, and when it ended, they were transported to the world of Junonia for the first time through the rift they already knew.

The teleportation took place as usual. Darkness enveloped them for a moment, and then a bright light. They instinctively closed their eyes and soon felt a solid surface under their feet. After keeping their balance, they cautiously opened their eyes.

They found themselves inside a small room, and in front of them stood their senior Nemo, who was wearing his strange mask on his face. But what really surprised them was the strange clothes Nemo was wearing.

"It's good to see you again, Nemo," Idan said, speaking to him through a mental link.

"It's good to see you too, Nemo, — Arabel said, echoing him.

"I'm glad to see you both too, Idan, Arabel," Nemo replied, at first a little surprised to see Arabel with a strange guy. But when he heard Idan's voice in his head, he realized that it was really Idan.

After confirming that this stranger was Idan and hearing Arabel's greeting, Nemo felt that something was wrong with Arabel.

"Are you all right?" asked Nemo, looking at Arabel.

"More or less," she replied with a bitter smile.

"We'll tell you what happened to us later. Right now, it's more important to find out how you're doing?"— Idan wanted to say that he was to blame for Arabel's current condition, but decided not to say it.

"I've been waiting for you," Nemo confessed honestly. "After yesterday, System made it clear that you would probably show up soon, so I've been waiting for you all this time. I even rented two rooms next to mine in this inn."

"So we're at an inn?" asked Arabel, looking around.

"Yes, I've been here for over a week," Nemo replied. "Okay, follow me, and..."

He looked at them and said:

"Don't be too surprised."

Idan and Arabel exchanged glances and tried to figure out exactly what Nemo meant. Then they followed him out of the room and immediately found themselves in the next room.

As soon as they crossed the threshold, Idan and Arabel froze at what they saw. There was a baby with short purple hair and purple eyes lying on the bed. When she saw Nemo's appearance, she began to reach out to him invitingly.

Besides that little kid on the bed, there was a young girl dressed in an outfit resembling a maid's outfit, like in the stories of their world. Her blonde hair was neatly tied with a ribbon, her golden eyes radiated warmth, and her long legs in white stockings were shod in exquisite shoes. In her arms, she gently held a second baby with short black hair and bright red eyes.

Nemo went over to the baby on the bed, gently lifted her up and took her in his arms. Gently hugging her to him, he felt her small hands reach for the mask, trying to take it off. But Nemo wouldn't let her do it.

Then the girl noticed Idan and Arabel, and her purple eyes shone. Holding out her arms to Arabel, she said, "Ma!"

Arabel froze, feeling another shock.

I would like to express my gratitude to those who give gifts, power stones and golden tickets. Your support allows me to stay motivated and continue working on the book.
