Chapter 477 Letting the World Burn!
477 Letting the World Burn!
With our plan set, the only thing left was to wait for an opportunity. Ember, of course, left a few of her clones back in the cave to "keep eyes" on the situation.
To let everyone see what she was seeing, she decided to project all the displays of her small clones. Images of the cave's inside were displayed clearly, with the angel-like monsters roaming near where we were before.
"So they did notice our presence... It looks like their alert level has increased."
Wan Li mused while watching the few angels look around, as if looking for our traces.
"Ember, you can move the exit location for your kingdom, right?"
She asked curiously. Ember nodded her head without delay, continuing to watch the dozen displays floating in the air.
"Yes, I can. But it's limited to places where I have a marker. For example, I can create an exit anywhere around 3 meters from my clones."
In short, not only can we enter and exit anywhere she has a marker, we can even launch a surprise attack using it! As such, one of the small clones was slowly making its way deeper into the cave, approaching the hill while staying under the enemies' radar.
"That should be close enough."
I nodded my head, signaling for Ember to begin.
"Let's start it off with a big bang!"
"Yes, Master!"
Ember didn't hesitate one bit and quickly opened an exit portal three meters above the clone that reached the vicinity of the hill. Not only from that one but also above the rest of the clones, opening a total of twelve portals at once!
"FIRE!"
With my command, Ember then waves her hand to control her other clones... piloting her Exoskeletons. As soon as she commanded, they all let loose at the same time, firing all of their long-range attacks at the same time.
Even the melee-only mech was firing missiles using a portable missile launcher!
Bullets, missiles, and energy beams rained all over the place, creating widespread chaos. Flames and explosions engulfed the entire cave, causing strife and panic.
As soon as the chaos began, the angel-like monsters started to run back in panic. After all, they ended up letting their enemies slip past their surveillance!
"This should be enough."
I turned to Ember, raising a thumb in praise of her job well done. Then I glanced at the next fighters.
"Fang, Igni, it's your turn! Go crazy!"
As if waiting for this signal, Ember opened a portal behind them. As soon as it appeared, the two jumped through it and exited into the same location we were in before.
"Let's do this!"
Igni was the first to move, activating her Domain, the [Hell's Flame Dominion]. As soon as she did, the entire cave began to turn bright red, hot enough that it was starting to melt.
"Hey, Igni! Hold back a little! It's too hot!"
Fang, who was right beside her, was, of course, affected by the heat. Just a bit more, and she'd be roasted crisp!
"Oh, I forgot."
As soon as she was warned, Igni turned off her domain. However, the heated walls and floor wouldn't return to room temperature instantly. It was still red hot, enough that just standing on the ground was melting Fang's boots!
"[Shadow Movement]!"
To save her attire from destruction, Fang decided to hide inside the shadow dimension. After all, that place was spared from the heat that Igni brought forth.
"INTRUDERS!"
And, of course, such a wide-area attack would be eye-catching. Igni was quickly discovered by the angel-like monsters, and they all rushed toward her with their spears poised and ready to attack.
"Passing through!"
Fang didn't waste the chance, and as soon as their shadows passed over her location, she jumped into their shadows and attacked. A single swing of her dagger across the enemy's neck should be more than enough to silence them!
Not counting those that were deleted by the indiscriminate "greeting" that Ember gave, the first casualty finally appeared!
"Great! Next, Ember, drop us off at our destination!"
During the time that Igni was burning the cave, Ember's little blob clones, which somehow survived the high temperature of the ground, managed to reach the target location. The crystal castle's entrance!
"I wish you luck, Master..."
Ember muttered before she ejected us out of her God Kingdom.
A flash of light robbed my sight for a moment, and when my vision cleared up, I was already standing right in front of the large crystal castle's doors. Behind me were the other girls, their expressions firm and serious.
"Let's go!"
Time is of the essence, so we didn't have time to stand still. I rushed forward, kicking the crystal doors open.
"...?"
I think I heard something... but when I tried to listen intently, I heard nothing.
'Just my imagination?'
Anyway, we have no time to waste.
"Who's there?!"
As soon as we entered, there were nine "humans" wearing pure white, priestly garb over their bodies. All of them were at the god level, unfortunately.
"Fatima!"
"On it!"
As discussed before, Fatima quickly equipped her Sniper Rifle form and aimed. After all, the only attacks she could launch that could injure god-level opponents were those with enough power behind them, starting with the sniper rifle and such.
*BANG!*
Since the enemy was right in front of us, there was no need to actually aim. She pressed the trigger, and a bullet flew across the room, heading toward one of the enemies.
*PING!*
But, of course, such an obvious attack was defendable. All ten of them protected their bodies with a barrier, causing Fatima's attack to get deflected.
"Nice!"
Using the instant that they were focused on Fatima, I managed to slip through their vision and reach the spot behind them. I held my sword tight and swung it down against the one Fatima targeted.
*SLASH!*
With the sword, especially made by Ember herself, the barrier was not much different than a sheet of paper. The blade went through it as if it didn't even exist!
The enemy noticed that his barrier was broken through, but it was too late to dodge. His head quickly rolled to the floor as fresh blue blood spewed out of the wound on his neck.
"Wait... Blue?"
