Chapter 51: I HATE YOU
"I hate you. I hate your stupid face, your smug smile, your insufferable arrogance. I hate the way you talk, the way you walk, the way you think you’re entitled to everything. I hate your ego. I hate every damn about you!"
Alanis didn’t flinch, though her words hit him like a physical blow. For a moment, silence returned to the car, but it was anything but calm. The air felt heavy and suffocating.
He took a breath, steadying himself. Despite her fiery tirade, all he could think was that he had caused this. That he had created the hatred she now carried. And yet, part of him couldn’t let go. Not yet.
He still had hope that she loved him. He wanted to cling onto that hope.
They arrived at the hotel Harlow had given to the driver. It was good, but not the best hotel on the globe.
"Why this? Why not a place that is more secured and safe?" Alanis asked.
"Could you suggest a better hotel? Plus it’s only for the night." She carried her bag and stepped out of the car. The moment she was about to walk into the hotel, her cell phone beeped. She checked the message sent and all colours drained from her face.
How was it possible for Claudia to collect such amount? What did she use it for?
She has never seen herself use such amount before if it ain’t for acquiring properties. The message read 200 million. Even if she had such amount, why would she waste it on something she never did?
Harlow walked into the hotel without wasting any time. This time, Alanis did not follow her. He wanted to give her the space she needed so he went back to his Villa.
When she got to her room, she sent a message to Richie and the rest, she told them never to let Ava out of the mansion since her father had his eyes everywhere. If he finds Ava, then she’s over. For not, this hotel would be her home, till everything is settled.
When the next morning arrived, Harlow prepared herself for her visit to her father’s office. She ordered new clothes and wore a light make up. Her fiery red hair was tied into a bun as she stepped out of her room.
Walking out of the hotel room, her chauffeur was already waiting for her. "Good morning ma’am." He greeted.
"Good morning." Responded as she stepped in. She could only hope her father has not also restricted her from the company too. If he has, she would have to wait for him at home, maybe talk some sense into him.

Meanwhile, at the Blackwood Corporation, Frank Blackwood was a man on edge. "Have you managed to get a response from her?" he barked at Lance, his assistant.
"Yes, sir. But she hasn’t replied to the texts or calls. Do you think something might have happened to her?"
Frank scoffed, shaking his head. "Send another message. Offer to double her fee—whatever it takes to get her here."
Lance hesitated. "But sir—"
"Just do it!" Frank snapped, storming off toward the elevator. Lance had no choice but to comply.
.
.
On her way to her father’s company, Harlow got a text from Lance. They were ready to double whatever the price was, all she needed to do was name her price.
"I’ll be there shortly." Harlow sent the message. As usual she didn’t name any price. Frank has never gotten to pay her for her services, today she would tell her father the truth and everything she is. Maybe they could work things out after that.
They finally arrived before the corporation, the large twenty storey building stood so tall before her. It wasn’t her first time here but for some reason, she was nervous.
Harlow stepped out of the car and started walking towards the building. As usual, it was a Friday morning so the place was bustling with people. Everyone was excited about the weekend and were already making arrangements for it.
She smiled at them. "Welcome to..." The person who spoke to her paused. "Miss Blackwood?" She called.
"What are you doing here?" Harlow sent a message immediately to Lance.
’I’m in the building where are you?"
Seeing the text, lance stepped out almost immediately searching for the miss H. Both he and his boss were more than excited to see her. They’ve been wanting to see the brain behind the success of the Blackwood empire. The brain behind everything they have.
A good person who has volunteered to help them without wanting anything in return. Harlow saw the man approach her and she waved at him, but Lance only glanced and walked past her like he hadn’t just seen her and continued his search.
This man is her father’s right hand man, if he was acting this way, it meant her father would do worse.
"Miss Harlow, if you want, I can take you to see your father before the meeting begins." The girl said and she nodded.
Right now she just had a change of heart, she would only tell her father who she is.
They used the general elevator and arrived on the last floor. The more they approached the office door, the more faster her heart was beating in her chest. She just wanted to be over with this once and for all. She would prove to her father that Claudia is infact the person that took those funds.
"Here we go." The girl who led her up there said as she retreated back to her position to receive other guest and visitors. Harlow held the door knob when she got another text.
"Where are you miss H, what type of cloth are you wearing?" Lance texted. He has moved through every corner of the organization known to him, but couldn’t find her anywhere.
Harlow read through the message and ignored it just like he did to her now. With a sigh, she ignored it and pushed open the office door.
Frank Blackwood looked up, his piercing gaze locking onto her. His expression darkened instantly. "What are you doing here?"
Harlow stepped inside, closing the door behind her. "I came to talk to you, Father."
Frank’s voice was cold, dismissive. "We have nothing to talk about. As you can see, I’m late for an important meeting with..."
"Miss H?"
