Chapter 32: Lying
Jiang Xiaoxiao watched Ye Hua with great interest.
Her own mother’s fighting power was more than enough to handle Ye Hua.
Don’t be fooled by Fan Xiuying being a nice person, typically speaking softly.
But when she gets tough, she’s really tough.
Look at Ye Hua’s face full of shame and anger, if it weren’t for her precious son, she probably would’ve left long ago.
"Hey Jiang family, what’s up with you? Why are you yelling so early in the morning?"
The neighbors asked curiously; after all, the Jiang family had been very lively lately with people coming and going.
Just last night they caught a hooligan.
Many neighbors came out to help.
Before dealing with the hooligan, they found out they got the wrong person.
And now it’s chaotic again.
It’s strange, Old Jiang and his wife never cause trouble, so why can’t they settle down now?
Fan Xiuying propped up with a big broom in one hand and put the other on her hip.
"Dear neighbors, since you’re here, let’s all judge fairly. These two at the door, surnamed Fang, as you’ve seen, they’re big officials wearing clothes with four pockets, but what they’re doing is disgraceful."
The crowd immediately laughed.
Fan Xiuying is a straightforward person! Everyone actually quite likes the couple.
Living here, they have a great reputation.
"Jiang family’s, just tell us, what shady business are they up to?"
Ye Hua’s face turned green with anger.
"Fan Xiuying! Don’t slander us. What do you mean by disgraceful? What exactly did we do?"
Fan Xiuying sneered, and everyone could see it clearly.
"What did you do? Everyone, look at Jiang Xiaoxiao, our daughter! So many of you have known her for years, some even watched her grow up, some even held her. Now, this couple shows up, claiming our Xiao Xiao was switched at birth, that she’s their daughter.
I was thunderstruck."
The crowd was shocked, could this really have happened?
This is like something out of a soap opera!
The crowd immediately began examining Fang Zhiyuan and Ye Hua’s faces, trying to see if they resembled Jiang Xiaoxiao.
Sure enough, Jiang Xiaoxiao bore some resemblance to Fang Zhiyuan.
And then they saw the girl standing in the yard who looked quite similar to Fan Xiuying.
The two girls were nearly the same age.
One look was all it took to understand.
This had to be Fan Xiuying’s biological daughter.
Many people suddenly understood.
Wow! It’s like a drama.
Even movies aren’t this entertaining.
"That’s my biological daughter, what’s wrong with wanting to take her back?"
Ye Hua questioned with displeasure, wondering why they were wronged.
The biggest mistake was acknowledging Jiang Xiaoxiao.
Look, it’s only been a few days and they’ve been humiliated publicly.
Even if they don’t know these people.
It’s still embarrassing.
"Yes, there’s nothing wrong with finding your biological daughter, but are you really looking for her? Or are you trying to swindle one away from us?"
Fan Xiuying showed contempt; her daughter’s words from yesterday kept her sleepless all night.
Now everything had a source and reason, yet Ye Hua dared to come to their door?
"Of course, she’s my biological daughter. We already have a daughter, why would we bother to take another one? Who’s so idle to take a daughter for no reason? Unless something’s wrong with their head."
Ye Hua fumed, and the surrounding people nodded.
It made sense.
"Yeah, Xiuying, what’s really going on? We’re getting more confused the more we listen,"
A curious person asked.
Fan Xiuying put her hands on her hips, "And you have the nerve to ask? If it’s not fraud, then what is it? Why would you find her now that she’s eighteen, not sooner or later, but right now. It turns out it’s to send her to the countryside for your son!
You heartless woman, do you dare say you want Jiang Xiaoxiao back, not to send her to the countryside in place of your son? You’re unwilling to send an adopted daughter to the countryside yet want Xiao Xiao to go. What kind of twisted logic is that?
Because of this, I seriously doubt your words. We cannot give you the child. For all we know, you might just be trying to swindle our child away."
As soon as these words were spoken! The surrounding neighbors immediately understood.
Many people’s eyes changed.
Some showed contempt, some were disdainful, others were incredulous.
They had never seen biological parents act like this before.
"How did you know..."
Ye Hua was shocked that they knew what was in their hearts, so much so she let the words slip out.
Anyone with a keen sense hearing this would know it was exactly what they were thinking. Fan Xiuying hadn’t falsely accused them.
"If you don’t want people to know, don’t do it, and yet, you’re still bold enough to say it, huh? You came for the child with that purpose in mind, didn’t you? You still have the nerve to call yourselves biological parents. Is that something real parents would do? Let me tell you, our Xiao Xiao isn’t going with you. Go wherever you like, just get out of here."
Fan Xiuying swung her big broom again.
Ye Hua and Fang Zhiyuan were chased out in a flurry.
There’s no explaining it away.
Fang Xiaohui had already slipped outside amid the chaos.
And now she ended up running into Ye Hua and the couple.
"Fang Xiaohui, what’s going on? What happened last night? How did they find out about our plan? Fang Xiaohui, you’re such an ungrateful traitor, we raised you all these years and now you betray us.
How could you go tell your biological parents all this? Do you not appreciate all the years we supported you? Besides, we had that plan not just for your brother’s sake. Did we not consider you? If it wasn’t to keep you in the city to work, would we have come up with this idea?"
Ye Hua scolded Fang Xiaohui furiously.
She was convinced that Fang Xiaohui had revealed the plan.
They hadn’t had time to speak with Jiang Xiaoxiao yesterday, so Fang Xiaohui was the only one who knew about it.
Fang Zhiyuan was also looking displeased, not expecting Fang Xiaohui would have let it slip.
"Mom and Dad, how could I have said anything about something this big? Yesterday Jiang Xiaoxiao said it herself when she came back. She mentioned that you had told her, what does this have to do with me?" Fang Xiaohui felt wronged, wondering how she got tangled in this.
She clearly heard Jiang Xiaoxiao say it was her parents who told her.
"Fang Xiaohui, making a mistake but not admitting it, and now lying too? How could it have been us who said it? Do you think we would speak of such matters to Jiang Xiaoxiao on the first day? Doing wrong and then shifting the blame onto us."
Ye Hua was nearly frantic with anger.
Anyone with some intelligence wouldn’t believe such a lie; could Jiang Xiaoxiao really have said that?
Could Jiang Xiaoxiao really have known about this?
Yesterday they barely exchanged two words with Jiang Xiaoxiao, and none of it could have connected to this situation.
The immediate reaction was that Fang Xiaohui was lying.
