Chapter 489: Taking things too Far

Since he seems to have gotten their trust already, Fang Lin reckoned that he can easily ask the redhead with some things that he badly wanted to know.

“You, you really do not know when to talk properly…” The redhead muttered as she let out a sigh.

Her body was mostly relaxed now, as she started to treat Fang Lin not as an enemy, but rather just another passerby.

“You are strong, that I can say about you.” The redhead muttered as she gave Fang Lin an appraising look.

“I do not know how you were able to be that powerful even when you are inside this prison… But I also do not care. What I just want to know is your real identity.”

“Oh, I am Xiao Chen.’ Fang Lin replied quickly as he stated everything that he knew was the truth.

“Wait, are you that Xiao Chen? The person that was wanted by the whole clan for a year? That was you?” The redhead suddenly blurted out as she gave Fang Lin a disbelieving look.

“Well, that was what they told to me…” Fang Lin muttered quietly.

“What do you mean they told it to you? If you are Xiao Chen, then you should already know that you are Xiao Chen!” The redhead blurted out as she started to think that there is something wrong with Fang Lin.

“IS there something wrong with your head?”

“Well, there really is something wrong with my head.” Fang Lin admitted as he said,

“I suffered an amnesia earlier, and that amnesia was what had led to my capture…”

“Amnesia? Hmph, you think I will just believe that claim of yours?” The redhead replied as she started o crack her knuckle in anger.

“You may be stronger than us right now, but that does not mean that you can treat us like fools!”

“I am really telling the truth here…” Fang Lin replied helplessly as he let out a sigh.” Besides, what good would me lying about my amnesia will do? Literally nothing.”

“Oh right…” Now that the redhead could see it, Fang Lin would not be able to gain anything useful if he lied about his memory loss. That must just mean that Fang Lin really had suffered an amnesia.

“Let me guess. You want me to tell everything about your life?” The redhead said as she seemed to understand where Fang Lin was leading her to. “Since you did not do anything against us while we were unconscious, then I suppose I can help you out a little now.”

“However.” The redhead started to fix up her hair as she continued talking. “I have been in this prison for 10 years, so everything that I know about you is extremely few.”

“That is better than knowing nothing.” Fang Lin said as he adopted an extremely grateful look. “I thank you for your kindness, Miss?”

“Xiao Ya. That is my name.” The redhead said as she noticed Fang Lin’s somewhat surprised look. “What? Is there something wrong with my name?”

“Oh, nothing at all.” Fang Lin replied quickly as he let out some cough.

While he seemed to look calm right now, deep inside his mind, Fang Lin was thinking,

“She has the same name as Fang Yu’s master. Well, since both of these Xiao Yas are into girl to girl action, having their names being similar could be acceptable.”

Of course Fang Lin knew that his logic is extremely fallacious, but who cares? He’s just having fun with their names.

Once she saw that Fang Lin was already ready, Xiao Ya let out a deep breath as she said,

“From what I know, there are currently 3 Leader Candidates of the Azure Dragon Divine Clan. Each of these Leader Candidate will have the chance to be the future leader of the Azure Dragon Divine Clan. And you, Xiao Chen, is one of them.”

“Oh, so this person actually is a big-shot in here…” Fang Lin muttered to himself as he could not help but feel impressed about Xiao Chen.

Fang Lin nodded his head to show that he understood what Xiao Ya had just told him. Fang Lin then assumed a curious expression as he asked her.

“So, how did I fare as a Leader Candidate? Am I good or bad?”

“Your performance as a Leader Candidate is somewhat fine.” Xiao Ya said as she finished fixing her hair. “You have 35% of the support of the Elders, while the other two candidates have 35% and 30%.”

“Well isn’t that great?” Fang Lin replied as he shrugged his shoulders. He then frowned as if he suddenly realized something.

“Hey Xiao Ya, if I am really a Leader Candidate, then what happened to me that led to me being a criminal? I have no idea on what had happened!”

“Oh, since the clan had restricted the information about that, I only knew extremely few things about your crime.” Xiao Ya said as she tilted her chin.

“But from what I know, it seems like you and another leader candidate had a great falling out, and you managed to kill that Leader Candidate.”

“That is a big whoopsie, I guess?” Fang Lin winced as he heard what Xiao Ya said.

“It really is a whoopsie.” Xiao Ya replied even though she was not sure on what whoopsie meant.

“A Leader Candidate killing another Leader Candidate is a big taboo for the clan. After all, all the Leader Candidates are powerful talents that were raised by the whole clan zealously. For them to die is just a huge waste of time and resources. So, they made the rule banning a Leader Candidate from killing another Leader Candidate.”

“Wait, if that is the rule, then how will the future Leader be chosen from the Leader Candidates?” Fang Lin asked as he seemed to be not disturbed of his past crime.

“Its easy. All the Leader Candidates will just fight each other and the winner will be the new Leader.” Xiao Ya said as she gave Fang Lin a pitying look. “But because of what you did, there is no chance for you to be the leader anymore.”

“Ok, I get it…” Fang Lin said as he waved his hands dismissively. He then gave Xiao Ya a suspicious look as he asked her,

“If a Leader Candidate killing another Leader Candidate is a huge taboo, then why did I do it before?”

“That is the mystery around this case.” Xiao Ya replied as she stood up. “The higher-ups of the clan hid all the details about the murder, and the only thing that they are talking about is on you being the culprit.”

“Tsk, with my memories gone now, it will be pretty impossible for me to say if I have been set-up.” Fang Lin muttered as he tried to look indignant.

“Set up? That is highly plausible too.” Xiao Ya nodded sagely as she walked towards the direction of her partner.

“Many suspected that it was the Third Leader Candidate that orchestrated this plot, ensuring that the other Leader Candidate will die while you will be ousted from the clan. Of course speculations are just speculations, and there are a lot of evidence pointing out to you doing the crime. So you have no way to defend yourself legally.”

“…….” Fang Lin decided to stay silent as he digested the information given to him by Xiao Ya.

As for Xiao Ya, she started to look at Fang Lin more seriously as she asked him,

“Oi Xiao Chen, is your Azure Dragon Divine Spirit really suppressed?”

Fang Lin looked right at Xiao Ya’s eyes, and there he could see a greedy look on her eyes, as if she badly wanted Fang Lin to say yes.

After all, if Fang Lin can somehow let his Azure Dragon Divine Spirit resist the suppression in the prison, then it is highly possible for him to teach Xiao Ya on how to do this!

“It is still suppressed in here.” Fang Lin said as he showed the phantom of the Azure Dragon to Xiao Ya.

Just like what Fang Lin had seen earlier, his Azure Dragon Divine Spirit is still curled up, as it was still being pushed around by the suppression of the prison. “See, it really is suppressed.”

“…..”

But instead of looking disappointed, Xiao Ya’s face wore a mask of shock as she saw Fang Lin’s Azure Dragon Divine Spirit.

She pointed her trembling fingers towards Fang Lin’s Azure Dragon Divine Spirit as she said,

“Oi Xiao Chen, how could you have such a powerful looking Azure Dragon Divine Spirt? Your Azure Dragon Divine Spirit is the purest one that I have seen in my whole life!”

“Huh? What are you talking about?” Fang Lin asked in confusion as he saw Xiao Ya’s shock. “Aren’t all the members of the Azure Dragon Divine Clan have Azure Dragon Divine Spirits?”

“Yes they have, but your Divine Spirit is the strongest one that I have ever seen!” Xiao Ya said as her gave swiveled toward the wings of Fang Lin’s Divine Spirit.

“Just look at that wings. There are 12 segmentations, signifying that its bloodline is really pure! Not only that, but its skin color is the deepest azure color that I have ever seen in my life!”

“Well, so what if my Divine Spirit looks cool? What’s the problem with that?” Fang Lin jokingly replied as he tried to appease the clearly panicking Xiao Ya.

“No problem?” Xiao Ya started to laugh hysterically as her look at Fang Lin changed.

“You may not know this, but everyone knows about the quality of the Divine Spirits of all the Leader Candidates!”

Xiao Ya then pointed her nose towards the Azure Dragon Divine Spirit as she said,

“As for you Xiao Chen, the records have stated that your Azure Dragon Divine Spirt only have 7-8 segmentations and its color was 3/5ths of the azure color.”

“That just means that your bloodline quality is around 60%!” Xiao Ya declared as she circled around Fang Lin warily.

“Ah, I get it…” Fang Lin already realized the problem in here.

The bloodline quality of the real Xiao Chen is only around 60%, while the Xiao Chen that Xiao Ya is talking to right now has a bloodline quality of nearly 100%!

Anyone seeing these contrasting characteristics will surely see that there is something fishy that is going on!

“Are you really Xiao Chen?” Xiao Ya asked with disbelief on her tone. “Nobody can just go from 60% to 100% bloodline purity that quickly!”

“You may not believe me, but I really am Xiao Chen…” Fang Lin replied helplessly. “I swear that I am telling the truth to you.”

It was at that point that the black-haired woman woke up. It seems like the sounds of Xiao Ya shouting had awakened the black-haired woman.

Her slightly bleary gaze changed into an alert one as she saw Fang Lin right inside her house.

She settled into an extremely tense pose as she asked Xiao Ya,

“Do we still have to fight him now?”
