Chapter 286: That’s… Kind of Stimulating!

The eventful night had finally passed.

Then the sky started turning bright again, Jacinta’s party of three arrived at a certain out of way corner of the Ataru Canyons.

“It really can run huh.”

While sitting down on a rock, Jacinta looked at the thing in its hand and showed a cold grin.

“——! —!”

In the hands of this demon Commander, a sharp noise similar to a baby’s cry rang out over and over.

It’s the cry of a certain monster.

The monster had a tiny pair of dragon wings, but its body was segmented like that of a locust. It’s around the size of a person’s hand, and it was currently being tightly held by cruel, draconic looking claws.

The claws like hand obviously belonged to Jacinta.

Jacinta simply tightly grasped that tiny monster while completely ignoring its screams and struggles.

Although that little monster’s body would shift from solid to illusion like a mirage, constantly shifting about, it still couldn’t escape Jacinta’s grasp no matter what it did.

“Stop wasting energy.” Jacinta spoke with a cold grin, “I’ve long since analyzed your abilities, so I know full well how to bind you who lack a true form. You won’t be able to escape no matter what you do.”

As he spoke, Jacinta looked toward Jace and Liece while continuing to hold on to the little monster.

“Well? Anything?”

Jacinta asked such a question.

Jace and Liece, who originally had their eyes closed like they were trying to sense something shook their head.

“There’s been no reactions, master.”

“Same for me as well.”

Jace and Liece both replied somewhat regretfully.

“Is that so?” Jacinta didn’t find that answer unexpected though, and he simply muttered, “As I thought. Those bastards won’t so easily allow themselves to be exposed upon the stage now. This time is the same as before, huh?”

The reason why Jacinta didn’t directly eliminate the Demon Lord spawn in his hands is because he wanted to see if he could lure out the [Original Devil] behind it.

Unfortunately, much like Airi had said before, this most ancient, most mysterious, and most powerful branch of the Old Demon Faction will generally not expose themselves to the world at large. Instead, they’d bestow Demon Lord Spawns to other and use them to undertake the ritual and cause chaos.

This time is likely the same. They weren’t here at all, and even if they were, there’s no way that they’d expose themselves either.

“For them, it’s just a single Demon Lord spawn, not worth them actually taking action. Unless the ritual had succeeded, this Demon Lord spawn had already devoured the sacrifice, and then actually grew to a level that can’t be overlooked anyways. They’d at least won’t just stand by and watch us eliminate a truly great bit of material, right?”

It has to be said, this is something of a shame.

Jace and Liece also spoke up.

“Then, master, why didn’t we go with the original plan where we first hide away, wait for the ritual to succeed and the Demon Lord Spawn had devoured the sacrifice, and then act to deal with the Demon Lord spawn?”

“If we did it that way, there’s no way that the [Original Devil] would simply sit around, right?”

Jace and Liece were both confused.

Jacinta ended up laughing in response.

“Even if I wanted to do that, I need to have the ability first.” Jacinta spoke resignedly, “The demonic beasts within this canyon are just too numerous. If they ended up turning into a single refining demon via the ritual, then the sacrifice at that point will probably end up just too high a quality. Add in the fact that there’s supposed to be a lord of demonic beasts here that’s already over level 90, if it ended up as the final refining demon and devoured all the refining demons in this canyon, then it’ rather obvious just how powerful it would have become.”

And if this ultimate level sacrifice was then devoured by the Demon Lord spawn, it’s equally obvious just how powerful the Demon Lord Spawn would have then become.

“Not even I have the confidence to take a monster like that alive. Nor do I have the confidence to deal with it and the mongrels of the [Original Devil].” Jacinta grimaced before continuing resignedly, “That said, if I had known ahead of time that master had awoken and even came here to the mortal realm, I might have been able to give it a try.”

If it’s that little master of his, then it’d likely be very easy indeed to accomplish such a thing.

Of course, this presupposes that his little master brings out her true might.

However, if she were to bring out her true might, this entire Ataru Canyon will probably be no more.

Besides, Jacinta isn’t the kind of trash who would need his master to personally deal with everything.

“It’s just a mere Demon Lord spawn. That’s not worth of making master use her true powers to deal with. Even if [Original Devil] were to appear, there’s no reason to ask master to personally act unless it’s a core member of their leadership.”

Jacinta’s eyes turned cold.

“That said, their activity has finally expanded all the way into the mortal world. That probably means that the seventh Demon Lord is close to successfully being born, huh?”

If that thing is born, then at that time, the three worlds will likely no longer be at peace.

However…

“If the Demon Lord creation plan is near its end stages, then that means that the [Original Devil] will likely be showing themselves soon.”

Since the plan is near the end stages, then likely, that Old Demon Faction branch will start moving more and more obviously, as well as making it easier and easier to draw the attention of others.

At that point…

“I want to see just what kind of trick you can play then.”

With that, Jacinta suddenly strongly clenched his fist.

“Bang!”

Within his hand, the constantly screaming Demon Lord Spawn was crushed alive, leaving its corpse in pieces.

“Bang-!!!”

At the same time, the sound of something shattering suddenly appeared over the air of the Ataru Canyons.

The flow of magic power suddenly started slowly returning to normal, thus letting everyone know that the ritual known as Demon Refining has been ended.

However, things did not simply end here.

It’s because there’s still a great number of refining demons left within the canyon. They didn’t just vanish after all.

Also, the Capital had also received news of the National Knight Order having met with disaster. Thus, they’ve already started sending people to the Canyon.

The hidden currents were still flowing.

However, none of that have anything to do with Shien’s group for the time being.

Shien’s group simply rested for the night, finally recovered somewhat, and left the camp.

Next, they were getting ready to leave the Ataru Canyons.

However…

“I’ll introduce you to a new companion.”

Before they left, Shien said something like that to Vivian and the other with a grin before loudly whistling.

The next moment, that enormous pitch black figure flew out from beyond the horizon and appeared before everyone’s eyes.

“Roar-!!!”

The black dragon who gained the name of Yulin let out a roar. It’s presence was amazing, and the force of her roar blasted up dirt from the ground, lifting it into the air in a wave that blew onto everyone on the ground.

Vivian and her party were all completely stunned.

Lumia simply pointed with a shaking finger.

“…”

Melika was utterly stunned.

“This…”

Vivian gasped.

Even Diere’s brows twitched uncontrollably. She almost ended up pulling out her weapons.

“Her name is Yulin.”

Shien gave a brilliant grin to the utterly stunned party.

“We’ll be riding her out.”

In response, Vivian and her party shuddered.

Riding a dragon?

That’s… Kind of stimulating!
