Chapter 45: What Happened at That Time

Chapter 45: What Happened at That Time

Elyna looked sadly at her child, who was still curled up on the floor, hugging her knees. She ignored the blood bottle once again, even though her face was pale.

Elyna wanted to cry seeing how tortured Triqi was because she had to be born as her child. Elyna and Val had received news from one of the teachers that a werewolf from outside their area had come to bother Triqi. The incident happened right before Triqi finally ran away and was found by Valan.

Elyna wiped her eyes when she saw Val trying to sit next to Triqi, even though Triqi moved a little away from him as soon as he came.

"That reminds me. You used to always stick to Valan and cry if we separated you. You were happy if your older brother cared about you more than we cared about you. Do you remember when you were five years old? You were mad at us because Hera dressed you like Illya at the New Year's celebration. You wanted to look the same as Valan. Because of that, you ended up wearing Jake's smallest suit that made you look like a walking rag," Val recalled. Her lips curled into a smile as she remembered that moment. Their happy moment was the moment when Triqi had not yet realized that she was different from the others.

"You are always happy to see new things. Your cheerfulness is the source of our happiness. We want nothing more than to see you happy, Triqi," Val said softly. His voice was no longer as scary as before. Triqi just lowered her head, listening.

Val turned to Elyna who was crying silently behind Triqi. Val knew that the one who would be the saddest if Triqi decided to leave would be her. His Luna loved their daughter so much that she was willing to go through a routine like a vampire race to make her daughter not feel alone in the pack.

Val stroked Triqi's hair gently. His hand then brought Triqi's slender body closer to his body.

"If being with your grandfather will make you happy, we will let you go to him. But please remember that this place is still your home," Val finally said. He knew Triqi was shaking softly in his arms. Triqi must have felt guilty. Val knew that his daughter loved them all. But because of her striking difference from the people around her, Triqi was always in a position that made her feel pressured from various directions.

Val regretted not being able to create a place where everyone could accept Triqi's existence with open arms. But he would continue to try to create such a place. He would continue to try until Triqi could finally be with them again, with a smile on her face.

Val kissed Triqi's forehead softly, inserting his power to protect Triqi.

"Go to a place where you feel happy. We will always be with you to support you," Val said in the end.

"Mom..."

Triqi looked at Elyna, who was still crying loudly in her father's arms. She didn't know the effects of her decision would have this severe impact. Triqi had made her mother look devastated when her feet walked out the door of their pack.

Triqi's suitcase was carried into the car by one of the subordinate vampires. Triqi once again saw her mother, who was still crying loudly, trying to prevent her from leaving but couldn't do so.

Especially when Valan wasn't at home.

Triqi took a deep breath. Her feet approached Elyna. Triqi hugged Elyna tightly while occasionally patting her trembling back.

"I'm sorry. But... I just need time to calm down. In a place that can accept a creature like me, at Grandpa's house."

Triqi tried to explain as slowly as possible. Her eyes glanced at Val, who also looked at her sadly. Triqi hugged the handsome figure next. She didn't hate either of them. She just hated looking different.

Triqi walked away as a vampire bent down and carefully held an umbrella over her. She leaned her body against the car seat, watching the pack that had escorted her finally disappear at the end of the road.

She didn't want to go, but let her calm down for a while. Triqi needed a place where the sunlight wouldn't hurt her. She needed a place where everyone could accept her existence with open arms.

Let her brother be angry if he finds out Triqi is leaving again. It was better than having to be forced to mingle with humans and other creatures.

Where she was different, separated in the diversity that existed.

"We have arrived, my Lady."

Triqi woke up when the driver who picked her up reminded her politely. Triqi looked outside and smiled a little. She no longer lived in a place where the sun hurt her. Above her head, the red moon hangs in the darkness of the ever-night sky.

From a distance, she saw the figure of her grandfather walking quickly out of the castle to pick her up. Triqi immediately got out of the car when the car finally stopped. She hugged her grandfather tightly. Georgio understood what was happening, so he hugged back and then planted a few kisses on his sweet granddaughter's face.

The other vampires immediately took Triqi's things to bring inside. Georgio said that he had prepared a special room for her. The place had even been arranged in such a way that Triqi would feel comfortable while she was there.

Triqi was then led inside by Georgio. He did not mention why Triqi suddenly wanted to stay with him. He just wanted Triqi to be happy, as simple as that.

Georgio took Triqi to the reading room. Taking a bottle of blood from one of the tables, poured it into a glass and gave it to Triqi, who had just sat down due to exhaustion and weakness.

Triqi turned her head as Georgio gently stroked her granddaughter's cheek.

"Drink it. Your body will become like a dwarf if you don't drink it," Georgio said as he handed Triqi a glass of blood. The beautiful girl chuckled, then leaned her head on Georgio's broad shoulder.

"I won't fall for that threat again, Grandpa. I'm a big girl now. My body won't shrink just because I haven't drunk blood for a few days."

Georgio pinched Triqi's cheek gently, then rubbed it lovingly when Triqi complained.

"But you've become as skinny as a skull, Triqi. Don't worry me. Don't you feel sorry for this poor old man suffering because he keeps thinking about his sweet granddaughter?"

Triqi noticed Georgio, who looked young. Snorting, she moved closer to her grandfather.

"You look young. Don't exaggerate it," Triqi protested. They were silent before Triqi lowered her head deeply.

"Are... aren't you going to ask why I suddenly decided to stay here temporarily? Leaving Mom, Dad, and Valan?" Triqi whispered weakly. Georgio smiled slightly, then stroked his granddaughter's hair gently.

"I know. You just need time. You can have it here. Just, please don't make your mother sad, Honey. You know she loves you so much, right? So do Dad and your brother. Your pack members, us. You have many places to go."

Triqi lowered her head even more. She knew, really knew about it. She knew her parents loved her very much. She knew the Silver Moon Pack always tried not to mention her differences. She knew her brother always tried to protect her. She knew all of that. Really.

But she was considered an illegitimate and strange child there. She was tired of going through all that. Triqi just wanted to be like Valan, who was able to live normally in that place.

Slowly, her tears began to be heard. She hugged Georgio tightly, pouring out all her burdens there.

"I, I'm sorry, Grandpa. I-I love them... But, sob, but..."

Georgio kissed the top of Triqi's head softly. Hugging his sweet granddaughter tightly, listening to all her complaints.

Georgio smiled slightly, watching the fire burning in the fireplace.

"Did I ever tell you? I used to hate your dad too," Georgio admitted as Triqi's tears slowly subsided. The child's cute face looked at him curiously, making Georgio reflexively flick the child's nose.

"He's a troublesome wolf. Take all your mother's love and invite her to live in the human world. At first, we had planned to take your mom back. But then we realized something else about your mother."

Georgio stroked Triqi's hair gently, looking at the teenager who was trying to tidy up her face.

"Elyna fell in love with Val first. She even hurt me when I tried to kill Val," Georgio said casually. He could see the change in expression on Triqi's face. Georgio knew that Triqi didn't expect her gentle and whiny mother to have almost killed him before.

"I think that's when Tritan realized that Elyna was more deserving of being with Val than himself. Your father is the type of man who keeps his promises. He promised Val that he would back off if Elyna loved Val more. We found her too late. Did you know that your mother was once captured by hunters and saved by Val?" Georgio asked again. Triqi shook her head weakly. That was the first time she heard about her parents' past.

"Why didn't Father save her with you?" protested Triqi. Georgio took a deep breath, "We were asleep at that time. The situation was very complicated at that time. I fell in love with a werewolf. But the love story did not end beautifully, and we ended up being betrayed by the werewolves," Georgio explained.

"When we woke up, there was no feeling other than hatred for the werewolves who had taken our love. I even tried to kill Val. However, something made me realize that day."

"What is it?" asked Triqi.

Georgio sighed. "They love each other. Our existence only complicates their situation. Tritan must have felt that he had become an obstacle to Elyna's happiness. Because of that, he chose to leave and no longer bother them," he said heavily.

Triqi wanted to protest, but Georgio quickly continued his words.

"Your father wanted this. He was the one who backed down even when he had the chance to kill Val."
