Chapter 42 Into The Town
The genan group (Marcel, Nathan and their people) didn't stop to watch what was happening below, they just kept running upward without stopping for even a moment.
The tiger which was facing against the tens of cattle-like beasts was also making progress, but the other beasts weren't just meat bags either. With their pointed horns, they caused a lot of injuries to the tiger, enough to wear it down physically.
Apart from the genan group, many other small groups that had gathered at the bottom of the mountain also used that opportunity to advance further. Most of them had died from different reasons, stampede, the cattle-like beasts and the tiger al contributed, so now the number of people felt wasn't much.
The huge tiger was finally done with all the other beasts remaining one, but at that moment, the body of the tiger collapsed in on itself and both tigers returned to their original selves, as two. As soon as their bodies split, one of the tiger fell to its side and remained there. It looked to be dead, but after a couple of seconds it pushed its body to stand up, before collapsing again.
The other tiger was now left to face the last beast alone while also trying to protect its brethren. The fight between both beasts seemed to be tough, but in the end the tiger came out on top after ripping apart the cattle-like beast's throat, causing it to bleed to death.
After that, the tigers gave up on the people running up the mountain. Even after noticing the ferocious beasts not pursuing anymore, nobody dared to stop. They all kept running until they reached the top of the mountain.
As per order, the genan group was the first to reach the top of the mountain, and unlike those before them, nobody had the time to take in the beautiful view before them. They immediately collapsed to the ground, panting hard as their bodies felt like ripping apart and being thrown into a boiling pot.
"I never want to do something like this again." Someone said while panting like a race dog. It wasn't just him who thought like this, every single person did.
Even Marcel and Nathan were tired after reaching the top, and sat on the ground immediately to rest. Something like this was never expected to happen, and wasn't prepared for in the least.
Some seconds after they arrived at the top of the mountain, the all received a notification.
==You have reached the quest's destination==
==Quest complete==
==Head into the town==
Everyone of the genan groups people received the notification from their system, so now at least they knew what to do next. After receiving this quest was when they looked ahead and saw the city below the mountain, and the beautiful environment surrounding it. They got at the top of the mountain when it was close to noon, so the view was very clear.
"Let's rest a bit before heading down. Even if I tried to now, I don't think my body will allow me." One of the men lying on the ground said.
Every other person agreed with him on this, and the brothers couldn't say anything about it as even them were tired and needed to catch their breath for a bit.
After a while of resting, everybody dragged themselves to their feet and headed for the town's gate.
The others that were still climbing the mountain eventually got to the top, and after receiving the system notification, they also headed for the gate.
The entire ordeal was extremely stressful and straining to the body, not to mention life threatening. The ones that were able to survive and get to the mountains top could only imagine what the people that were still in the forest were doing at that point. That is, if they were even still alive.
Getting to the gate, the genan groups people were stopped and had to wait for the others who were descending the mountain to come first before they would be taken into the town. No objections were made, as no one knew how strong these soldiers were. There was no reason to start what they could not finish, not when even the strong brothers obeyed without questioning too. f𝔯ℯe𝓌ℯ𝐛𝒏𝐨ѵel.c𝚘𝐦
During the time they were kept waiting, the solders at the gate asked everyone a few questions and they answered accordingly. The questions weren't anything brow raising, just simple and straight forward things. When the rest of the people arrived, the soldiers asked for the injured to separated to one side.
One of the soldiers took everyone into the town, as he led the way. As for the ones who were injured, another soldier took them with him towards a different route from the one the others followed. He must have taken them to the hospital for similar to get their injuries checked and treated before they joined the others.
Getting to the building, the soldier asked the injured people to wait outside, while he went in to check. After a few minutes, he came out from the building and brought the injured in. Counter to what the people thought, their time in the clinic wasn't going to take as long.
Inside the clinic, a man with green hair sat at the seat facing the entrance with his legs crossed. He looked to be in his late thirties or early forties, and had a plain look on his face, tilting towards a tired expression. Without wasting much time or giving pleasantries, he turned to the soldier, "is this everyone?" He asked. The soldier answered, and with the soldier's affirmation, he stood up and stretched both of his hands forward.
Just like that, a bright green light formed around everyone, putting them in a circle, and after about 30 seconds, their wounds were all healed.
"This is just something to treat external injuries. As long as the injury isn't too serious, you'll be fine. If you have any other discomfort, you can come back later. You are all good to go for now." The man said before heading out of the room through another door.
"Alright! Now that everyone is ok, let's go join the others!" The soldier said, before heading out of the building while leading the way.
