Chapter 1967: Becoming Enemies with the Officials

Altogether, there were six clubs that were frantically fighting now.

However, the only one that was frustrated was Jade Flower Lover.

Peacetime Dynasty and Grand Hegemony were not frustrated at all. Majin Temple had betrayed then and allied with Blood Red War Flag. There never existed a possibility of them claiming the Stronghold. They were currently in a battle with that was not so much a desperate struggle as “I’ll fight whoever fights me”.

Majin Temple wasn’t frustrated either. Unforgettable Maple had done everything he could do. If Jade Flower Lover couldn’t claim the Stronghold, then it went to show he deserved it.

Wings of Dawn was even less concerned. Elevenless only had 20-30 players left. His principle now was to “kill whoever was in sight”.

Meanwhile, Lu Li had already sent people to attack the Stronghold tablet. So long as their enemies were held up on this side, the Stronghold was going to be his sooner or later.

Jade Flower Lover tried to divide his forces but was stopped by the players of Ruling Sword.

After losing a group of people, he realised an issue. Rather than retreating, he might as well go for it with these idiots. Only if he cleared off all the enemies on the arena did he have a chance of stopping Ruling Sword.

The tablet wasn’t something that could be broken within a short amount of time. He still had a chance. Jade Flower Lover comforted himself this way.

Evidently, even the audience members could see that he had no chance at all.

The result in the end was that Blood Red War Flag defeated all of their enemies. As they were on their way towards the tablet, it was broken. He was then transferred out of the battlegrounds, filled with hatred.

Ruling Sword had successfully seized the Stronghold.

The other battles had also concluded. As expected, Ruling Sword’s other Stronghold had also been successfully defended.

What was unexpected was that Glory Capital’s four Strongholds remained in their control. However, despite strength to spare, Wendelian chose not to expand without careful consideration. Her club’s operating strategy was still more conservative at the current stage.

The one who was in the worst shape was probably Wings of Dawn.

Elevenless wasn’t able to take down Black Sea Coast’s second Stronghold. Dream 13 wasn’t able to take down Stranglethorn Vale’s second Stronghold. Moreover, Stranglethorn’s first Stronghold which they originally owned was taken by Drizzle Court.

Apparently, after the two brothers accepted this reality, they held each other and cried. Then, they fought with each other for a while and ended up going for drinks hand in hand.

The winner of Stranglethorn Vale’s second stronghold was a smaller guild from the Horde with a ranking in the mid-twenties. They had likely seen the crisis of Glory Capital and felt the huge mountain of pressure above them shift. Hence, they chose to come out and show off their existence.

There were quite a lot of clubs in the Horde, but they had all been neutered by Glory Capital.

Apart from this guild, there was also Open Sky, who had defeated Stellar Union and taken Loch Modan. This club didn’t have any amazing players. They didn’t even have any celebrity competitors, but their alumni included the past-professional player and now-commentator, Nine Phoenix.

The only other change to come from the Stronghold wars was the Hillsbrad Foothills of Blood Red War Flag. Jade Flower Lover kept thinking about stealing from others and ended up having his own backyard burned up.

Their second Stronghold of the Hillsbrad Foothills was taken by Azure Guard.

Out of the super clubs, Azure Guard had taken over Wings of Dawn’s place.

Life was always everchanging.

Ruling Sword now had two Strongholds in the Black Sea Coast and one in Grey Valley. They indirectly controlled two, which were occupied by Life Alliance and Judgement Spear.

In terms of their alliances, Peerless City was fighting steadily with the Stonetalon Mountains and Thousand Needles in their hands.

Drizzle Court didn’t need to worry about the two Strongholds in the Western Wilderness. They had also taken the first Stronghold of Stranglethorn Vale.

The alliance of the three guilds occupied ten strongholds, out of the 23 in total. They had more than double of what Glory Capital had.

Not long after, the officials changed the rules of Stronghold battles.

Originally, the stronghold battles could involve 80 players. This number was now expanded to 200. Different items were also introduced, such as stone throwing chariots and siege ladders.

Stone throwing chariots could be used by both offensive and defensive sides, while the siege ladders could only be used by the offensive side.

The principle of the game developers was to prevent a club from occupying too many Strongholds. Otherwise, the Stronghold Wars would become stale and repetitive.

Oppose the hegemony!

In the process of continuous failure and success, to continue surviving could lead to the development into a hegemon.

The last of the top eight matches was between Blood Red War Flag and Wings of Dawn.

There was no suspense in this battle. Blood Red War Flag took their home match 5:1, and the away match 5:2. As such, the third round had become a friendly match.

Wings of Dawn lost a Stronghold and a match, but somehow earned another round of financing.

More money naturally meant stronger abilities.

They could give elite groups money, and attract more and more elite players, while replacing underperforming guild members.

Only poor people like Lu Li could develop their guilds honestly and sincerely.

The expansion of the elite group was in full swing. Other than that, there would not be much possibility for any trouble.

Lu Li also had to research how to guard their Strongholds. One Stronghold had 200 people defending it. That meant that five Strongholds would require 1000 people!

They simply did not have enough elite players for this.

This was a crisis!

This was a massive crisis!

However, Lu Li wasn’t afraid. He wasn’t someone who let himself enjoy things. His experience when he was young made him afraid. He felt that enjoyment and death were equal to each other. All living beings suffered and only when they died could they be at ease.

After succeeding, he continuously broke through his comfort zone and exposed himself to new crises.

Of course, he didn’t know everything. After he entered the sight of Water Fairy’s grandpa, there were naturally people who noticed his growth and quickly ended up with this conclusion.

Lu Li was a nouveau rich, but not all nouveau rich were good enough for the little princess of the Fan family.

“Judgement Spear, you guys need to rely on yourselves. Nuo Yu, Sikong Clear and the rest of you need to rely on yourselves if you want to securely keep the Winterspring Stronghold.” Lu Li handed over Judgement Spear to the responsibility of their leaders after the official policy came out.

If Ruling Sword faced a huge challenge, then it could be said that Judgement Spear had faced a crowning calamity.

The plan was to have five elite teams. At the moment, there were a little more than three. Moreover, these 300 or so people needed 200 people to participate in the Stronghold battle. Looking at all the other clubs, this proportion was an absolute joke.
