Chapter 12 - Dining With The Big Shots

Chapter 12 - Dining With The Big Shots

"Miss Jia Li, can you make an order for us? You are a local and should know some of the best dishes here." YingPei requested as he turned to gaze at Jia Li.

"Me?." Jia Li said while pointing at herself.

Now she was sharing a table with the Fu brothers, she was opportune to get a good look at them.

She could see they had handsome features, but she dare not stare at them for a long time.

"Yes, you. We need your recommendation." YingPei insisted.

"I am afraid, I dare not." Jia Li rejected as she looked away.

"It's fine, place your order," YingPei said to her before asking the waiter to serve their signature dishes.

Jia Li agreed and ordered two dishes for herself, but YingPei added extra dishes for her

"You are still young, you need to eat more," YingPei said to her with a smile on his face.

Fu Hua scoffed, ignoring his brother.

Jia Li was different from most girls. She wasn't slim, and she wasn't fat. She just had a little amount of flesh on her body, but she still couldn't be called, chubby or plump.

She wasn't bothered about her body because her mother praised her for having a healthy body.

"Thank you!." Jia Li said politely.

Just then, a chime came from Fu Hua's phone, so he took it out to take a look.

Seeing an SMS from his girlfriend, he walked out of the restaurant with his phone in hand.

Jia Li and YingPei looked over till his back left their view.

"You seem to be scared of my brother," YingPei said rather than asking because he was sure.

"Am I?." Jia Li asked as she gazed at him.

"Yes you are, and it's very obvious. Don't mind the iced look on his face, don't be scared of him, he won't bite you." YingPei said to help relax her nerves.

"Oh." Jia Li replied.

As YingPei was asking Jia Li questions to know more about the locals as they waited for their dishes, Fu Hua was outside the restaurant on a call with his girlfriend.

"If I didn't text you, you have forgotten to call me, right?." Alix Feng asked as she twirled the wine glass in her hand.

She was sitting on her bed with a wine glass???? in her hand while on a call with Fu Hua.

"It's not that. I haven't settled what I came here for, so I've been a little busy over here." Fu Hua explained.

"You should have at least called or texted to keep me updated. You know I was worried about you." Alix Feng.

"Alix, I haven't had time." Fu Hua replied.

"It's alright, I understand. How is your grandfather doing? Is he getting better?." Alix Feng asked, switching over to another topic before he got infuriated.

"He is recovering." Fu Hua gave a simple reply.

"What about you, how are you? Where are you staying in that kind of local city?." Alix Feng asked?

"Alix I'm fine, you don't have to worry about me, I'm fine. I will be back soon." Fu Hua replied with his hand in his pocket.

"You are my boyfriend so if I don't get worried about you, who will?. You look like you are not in the mood to talk, goodbye." Alix Feng said in a strong tone before ending the call immediately, despite knowing that Fu Hua didn't like that attitude.

She was angry because she wasn't getting enough attention from him, so she ended the call to throw a tantrum, which she knew would not be accepted.

She kept her phone on the bed beside her and proceeded to finish the remaining content of her wine glass.

Fu Hua glanced at the blank screen of his phone with creased brows. He heaved a sigh before turning to walk back inside the restaurant.

He walked in at the right time because their food was being served.

After the waiter finished serving their dishes, he put three bottles of water before them, before he took his leave.

"The food looks appetizing, and I hope the taste is as good as it looks," YingPei said as he picked up his chopsticks.

Fu Hua on the other hand was glancing at the food with a double mind. The food looked like it would have a good taste, but he didn't want to risk his stomach, so he waited patiently for his brother to try the dish and tell him if it was safe.

As for Jia Li, she picked up her cutlery and began to eat quietly. She glanced at the dishes on the table before deciding to eat.

Her reasoning was different from Fu Hua's.

"Brother, the food is actually nice, you can give it a try," YingPei said after trying all the dishes on the table, including the one Jia Li ordered for herself.

"Oh!." Fu Hua said as he picked up his chopsticks and tried a few dishes with YingPei's directions.

After trying some of the side dishes, Fu Hua didn't say anything and continued to eat. His facial expressions didn't show if he was satisfied or not.

Right as he was eating, the phone he left on the table chimed, and he glanced at it. The only thing that caught his eye from the SMS his girlfriend sent to him was the apology she started with.

He already knew it was an apology message, so he didn't need to take a look at it at the moment.

Jia Li was the first person to stop eating.

"Miss Jia Li, are you satisfied already, or you don't like the food?." YingPei asked in concern.

If there was anyone he was thinking would give up on the food first, it was his brother. So Jia Li giving up on the food first, got his surprise.

"I liked the food, but I'm satisfied, thank you." Jia Li replied to him politely.

YingPei nodded and continued eating with nothing in mind, while Fu Hua thought Jia Li gave up on the food in pretense.

But the truth is that Jia Li gave up on the food because she was full. She was too nervous because she was sharing a table with the big shots, so the nervousness occupied the remaining space her food was supposed to occupy
