Chapter 43 - Do You See Her As A Woman?

Chapter 43 - Do You See Her As A Woman?

"It's okay, I was just saying. We are not sure if Li Huan has a girlfriend already, and there is only one way to find out." Mrs. Qin said in a suggestive tone.

Glancing carefully at her mother, Jia Li asked in a curious tone, "What way?."

Mrs. Qin smiled before leaning in to whisper into her ears.

"What?! there is no way I'm doing that." Jia Li said with a frown. That would be so embarrassing...

"If you don't do it, I will. I only want to help you." Mrs. Qin said while patting her shoulders.

"Mum, it will be great if you get to that for me." Jia Li said in acknowledgment.

"Of course I will do that for you. Just relax your mind and think of something else. Your inspiration will only come if your mind is relaxed. I'm going into the kitchen now, come and help me later.' Mrs. Qin said as she slowly stood to her feet.

" Thank you, Mum." Jia Li said after her.

"Oh, it was nothing, anything for you." Mrs. Qin said as she blew a kiss towards her.

Watching her mother walk away, Jia Li smiled to herself before standing up to pick up the paper mess littered all over her room.

She sat back on the table and picked up her pencil to draw, but she couldn't find any inspiration, so she put her papers aside and walked into the kitchen to help her mother out.

"You came out too soon," Mrs. Qin said to her.

"I still couldn't calm my nerves, so I decided to come out and help earlier instead of wasting time in my room doing nothing." Jia Li replied, and she took over with washing the vegetables from her mother.

"You're still bothered because of Li Huan. Don't worry, mother already promised to get you answers tomorrow." Mrs. Qin said to her with a smile.

Jia Li felt a bit relaxed and helped her mother to get dinner ready.

Back at Li Huan's home, Mrs. Li saw he was back and asked him with a smile.

"Did you see her?."

"Yes, I did. Mum, I thought I told you to rest and leave the cleaning to me?." Li Huan asked as he walked over to his mother's side and took the and towel in her hands away.

"I'm not sick anymore, I have already recovered." Mrs. Li said with a smile as she gladly let him take the towel from her.

"You are not through with taking your drugs. you're only saying this because you suddenly felt a bit relieved, and the first thing that came to your mind was to get back to work." Li Huan said as he kept the towel aside and gently guided his mother to the couch.

"Enough, I will listen to you. How is Jia Li, I haven't seen her in a few weeks now." Mrs. Li asked. She liked Jia Li and would be glad if they could become related, but she still hasn't made her stance known to anyone.

"Jia Li is fine, and her parents are doing great as well. They asked about your health." Li Huan replied with a smile.

He just couldn't help recalling Jia Li's shy expressions. He smiled to himself before glancing back at his mother who was staring at him with a teasing smile.

"Mum, why are you staring at me like that?." Li Huan asked with confusion on his face.

"Do you like Jia Li?." Mrs. Li asked after a while.

"I like Jia Li." Li Huan replied, but with a neutral expression on his face.

His attitude confused his mother, further. Thinking that he didn't get her question right, she asked again.

"Do you like Jia Li as a woman? Do you see her as a woman instead of a sister?."

Li Huan felt that his mother's questions were a bit hardcore. She didn't even try to mince her words, and just asked the question directly.

'Well she did mince her words, but you couldn't get her, so she decided to go all out ????.'

If Li Huan was eating something right at the moment his mother asked this question, he would have been rushed to the emergency room. hoping on his food.

"What? Am I wrong?." Mrs. Li asked, not quite understanding the reason her son reacted that way. Hello, she wanted a quick response.

"Mum, you're tired, go in and rest. I will clean up and prepare some food for you." Li Huan said.

"Are you brushing my questions aside?." Mrs. Li asked as Li Huan helped her up from the sofa.

"Mum, just go." Li Huan said to her as he pushed her gently till she was out of sight.

No longer having anyone to bother him, Li Huan day back on the couch before sighing.

He didn't know what was wrong with his mother, but he prayed she would stop asking him questions like this.

After sitting for a bit, he picked yo the hand towel and continued from where his mother stopped.

After cleaning, he went to have his bath, and after which he went into the kitchen to prepare food for him and his mother.

Their dinner was peaceful, unlike some people...

After Fu Geming went back to his house with his family, he was very annoyed and embarrassed with his wife, so he snubbed her.

He left the house without telling anybody his whereabouts and hasn't come back home. Now, it was time for dinner and he was nowhere to be seen.

"Ling, call your father and know where he is, he is not answering my calls." Fu ChunHua asked Fu Ling with creased brows.

"I don't think he will answer my calls either." Fu Ling muttered to himself as he dialed his father's number. After some rings, the man decided to answer his call.

"Dad, dinner is served, where are you?."

"Eat without me." Fu Geming replied and ended the call almost immediately.

The call was on loudspeaker, so Fu ChunHua and Fu Meixu heard his words.

Fu ChunHua's facial expressions were ugly, and while Fu Meixu had a frown sitting on her face. As for Fu Ling, he put his phone back inside his pocket and picked up his chopsticks to eat, totally ignoring all of them.
