Chapter 639
Chapter 639
Even though he was convulsing, he still went on to scream, "Kim! You know! You said you have a contact within the stupid Alf management!”
“Well... Yes, that’s true. But the person I know doesn’t have much control over the game...”
“So?! Just bribe them! Go give them money and find out everything about that bastard!”
“But young master, this will cause a serious problem if it becomes known to the public.”
“Do I look like I care about that?! I don’t! And isn’t it your job to prevent that from ever happening?!” The young man shouted fiercely at the men.
Thud!!
He then threw whatever item his hand found first, which turned out to be a cigarette ashtray.
Kim, who got hit by it, staggered and fell. The ashtray had gashed his forehead, and blood trickled down in a single rivulet.
But the shock on Kim’s face didn’t last longer than a couple of seconds. He was quick to compose himself, silently wiping the blood without much of a wince from the stinging pain. He then bowed his head and said, “Understood.”
“You can spend as much money as you want! Just find that bastard. Bring him before me, no matter what,” the young man instructed, his eyes filled with rage. He then proceeded to mutter to himself with unwavering wrath, “There’s nothing money can’t do in South Korea, you son of a bitch. Since that damned old man is wealthy above anything and anyone else, I will definitely find you. And when I do, I will kill you in a way that would make you wish you were never born.”
After making such a threatening declaration, he roughly opened a nearby drawer, where he obtained a bottle of liquid medicine. He then twisted the cover of the bottle in a needlessly harsh manner and chugged down the medicine like it was just water.

Han Yu-Na did not have the leisure to think as she usually did. While she was known to have a terrible temperament, that had not always been the case. It was once true that her kind heart and endearing words had won the affection of the people around her. But everything changed. Her life was ruined by a single person. And it seemed like lady luck was not on her side because she had once again crossed paths with that very same person, who was still the worst human trash to ever exist—Go Jin-Seok, the young son of the CEO of the Go Sung Company.
Following her father’s advice, she attended a high-society party where the two of them met for the first time. With his neat appearance and likable speech, Han Yu-Na naturally found him attractive and inevitably fell in love with him. His charming manners and fine looks drew Han Yu-Na in, and she even thought that it would not be a bad idea to consider marriage. But as their relationship deepened, she happened to notice Go Jin-Seok's infidelity and was able to witness the truth behind his facade firsthand.
And yet, he didn’t even consider hiding the traces of him being with another woman from her, who had come with a thoughtful birthday gift for him. Then, with his audaciousness, which knew no bounds, he said to her:
[It's because you keep playing hard to get that I'm doing this.]
‘Why? For what reason?’
There seemed to be no reason to live such a life when he already had enough money and nothing more to want.
Yes, she was known to have a terrible temperament, but that was just minor hysteria at best. She was never an ill-spirited person who felt joy from deliberately ruining someone else's life. So she didn’t think she deserved this betrayal.
Of course, after feeling deeply deceived, her affection for him cooled down immediately.
What happened next was not surprising. She was left feeling extremely stressed, and she eventually closed off her heart and showed an awfully nasty attitude to everyone, with the exception of a few people around her. Because of this, Hydro, the brother of someone close to her, would stick out his tongue and ask if she had a split personality. But by then, she had already earned the hatred of many due to her sharp temper.
She could no longer easily trust anyone else. While she had never met Oxygen in person, Han Yu-Na had spent a long time playing games with her online, along with another friend who was just like Yu-Na—someone who came from an affluent family but still seemed to be empty.
“Maga!” Oxygen, who spotted her from a distance, broke into a run, heading straight for Maga.
Seeing her, Maga ran toward her to meet her halfway, her face showing a bright smile as though she hadn’t been frowning just moments before.
“Oxygen! Oxygen! Did you miss this sister?” She asked with a voice that had taken on a cute lilt. She then proceeded to hug Oxygen, who giggled and squealed in response.
Hydro, who had been watching the exchange from the sidelines, finally dared to cautiously open his mouth, saying, “It’s been a while, Sister Maga.”
“Oh, yeah. It's been a while.”
It was just as usual.
A young man then appeared from behind.
“I have someone to introduce! He has been a great help. His name is Davey.”
At Oxygen’s words, Maga nodded reluctantly and then turned toward the man she was just introduced to.
“Nice to meet you. I’m Maga.” She introduced herself with a bright smile, but she immediately stiffened as soon as her gaze landed on the familiar face.
And the young man, Davey, furrowed his brows upon seeing her.
“...”
“...”
A moment of awkward silence enveloped between Maga, who seemed to be frozen in shock, and Davey, who looked at her indifferently.
“What’s wrong?”
“Um... Hydro? Oxygen? The handsome and warm man you wanted to introduce... Is he this person?”
Oxygen let out a startled cry, sounding like she just realized something. “Ah... Sorry. Were you shocked by something completely unexpected?”
“Of course, we also never said the guy being introduced was not taken,” Hydro needlessly commented from behind.
But Maga was not interested in that at all.
She was not interested in the Saint of Tionis. She didn’t even know his face! She didn’t really care that the introduced man was an NPC with self-awareness, and that he was someone who had previously treated her in a rude manner. Maga was just taken aback when she saw Davey all because of a simple reason: when she and Go Jin-Seok were having a public squabble, it was Davey who had suddenly intervened and devastated the whole place.
“What are you staring blankly for? It’s not like we haven’t met before.”
“You’ve met before? Have you two met somewhere previously?”
“Well,” Davey drawled out with a nonchalant shrug. “I helped her out a bit.”
“...” Flabbergasted, Maga was speechless for a moment before erupting into a bitter laugh. “Barging in suddenly and turning things into a huge mess, and then looting all my money? You call that help?”
Oxygen and Hydro gave a look of bafflement to Davey, who just smirked.
He then pulled out a large purse of money and jingled it playfully. “Thanks to that, I made a good haul.”
Hydro sighed deeply. ‘Where the hell did they meet each other?’
“Never mind! Oxygen! I’m going!”
Though she had received his help, having all her wealth swept away by Davey left her feelings toward him on the very floor. Being introduced to him? She was not interested at all. Sure, he might be handsome, but she found him to be nothing short of a thug.
“Just... Wait a minute, Maga!”
“Never mind! Hanging around with that guy will end up with me having even my gallbladder stolen!” Maga dismissed nonchalantly as she made a move to leave.
But then Davey spoke up, asking, “Should I take care of that bastard for real?”
Hearing the surprising question, Maga paused and blurted, “What?”
“Seems like you two have a fun relationship.”
“What are you talking about?”
“Why? Is it strange for an NPC like me to say such things?”
“...”
Her eyes went incredibly wide as though they would tear apart if she tried to widen them further.
“I’ll utterly crush that bastard for you if you want. Let’s help each other out where we can,” Davey said as he presented a contract to Maga. “In return, you just have to use your skills a bit in this game.”
“What are you talking about?”
“We need a matter transmuter,” Davey explained simply before proceeding to offer her the Heart of Goumda. “Can you process this?”
Maga blankly accepted the item, but not long after, her expression morphed into one that was filled with surprise. "What is this? It's a material for level 60, isn't it?"
"Tell me. Is it possible? Or not?"
"No, it can't be done. How do you expect me to process something like this? Even the top-ranked matter transmuter wouldn't be able to do it."
At her answer, Davey did not hesitate to offer her the purse of money he had taken from her.
"I’ll support you with this money."
"Are you joking? That was originally my money."
"Since I received it, it's already my money."
"What kind of person is this?!"
"By your standards, an NPC."
"Oxygen! Be honest. This person is pretending to be an NPC, right?"
"That's... That’s actually somewhat accurate."
"Hey. Is it nice walking around pretending to be a high-ranking NPC when your name doesn't even show up?"
"That's not for you to worry about,” Davey replied vaguely. “So, what's your proposal?"
"Don't make me laugh. I don't know how powerful you are here, but Go Jin-Seok... He might seem stupid, but he's really vile and ruthless. Aren't they currently trying to dig up your personal history?"
"What? Dig up my personal history?! What happened?!" Oxygen exclaimed, startled by the remark.
But Maga only flinched and remained silent.
“You seem reluctant to talk about it? Should Oxygen not know about this?” Davey whispered to Maga.
Maga winced at the question. She then brought her gaze up to look at Davey.
“If I'm right, just nod. You don't want to talk about it, right?”
At this, Maga quietly nodded.
“You're worried that the rich young master might dig up personal histories and possibly harm Oxygen as well, right?”
Davey’s conclusion made Maga look at him in surprise, her gaze seemingly wondering how he knew.
Unbeknownst to her, the truth was as clear as crystal. Though the fact that Perserque’s power played a big role in how he knew remained a secret.
Davey was already aware that Maga, or Han Yu-Na, was the second daughter of a wealthy family, and he also had already heard the general details of what had transpired earlier.
But why was it so easy to look through her secrets? The answer to that was actually very simple. Her mental state was currently twisted to an extreme degree, unlike that of other humans. It was incomprehensible how much shock one must’ve had to experience for their mental fortitude to collapse to this extent.
“I am more terrifying than you think. I'm not so weak that I can't handle a mere scion of a powerful family...” Davey said, his voice still in a hushed volume.
“...”
“But the reason why I dealt with that guy first was because he messed with my wife. He just had bad luck.”
Maga’s response to Davey’s remark was still silence.
“So what do you think about it? Do you want revenge?”
The offer was sweet and tempting, especially for her who had suppressed her anger by choosing to flee since revenge was impossible. At least for her.
Such an offer seemed more devilish than saintly indeed.
“The choice is yours. I'll grant what you desire. In return, you'll have to do the grunt work for me.”
[Hmm, yeah. Can you see my chat? Good. That son of a bitch... Please bring him down and make him pay. Just don't kill him. I don't want nightmare-filled nights... I'll do whatever you ask.]
With this, Davey had officially acquired the third worker since Aeonitia. A chilling smile then formed on his lips.
"Good. The deal is sealed then. Let's do well."
But at that time, he did not know.
He had no idea who this woman, Han Yu-Na, was showing extreme favor to—it was yet another friend to someone. After all, the upper echelon of society was smaller than one might think.
