Chapter 3: Cheng Zimin Felt His Presence Being Squashed To Nothing

Lin Chu watched quietly as Su Changxin left gracefully. Su Changxin seemed to be in a much better mood after slapping her.

The door banged shut behind Su Changxin. Lin Chu was dazed for a while before turning towards the sink. She looked into the mirror at her slightly red cheek.

It was not the first time Su Changxin had hit her. Every time Su Changxin was upset about something, she would find a reason to release her anger at Lin Chu. She never hit her much. It was always only one slap and it was enough to make Su Changxin feel better.

Lin Chu smiled sarcastically in ridicule of her predicament. She turned on the tap and splashed cold water on her face. The cold numbed her cheeks and the redness did not seem as obvious.

She took the paper towels from the wall to wipe her face, but the rough towel seemed to scratch her cheek, igniting the pain again. Lin Chu gave up and waited until her face dried naturally before leaving.

After a few steps, Lin Chu stopped, and her lips closed tightly as her eyes turned cold.

Cheng Ziming looked unfriendly as he walked towards her and suddenly caught hold of her arm.

Lin Chu was thrown to the side as her back hit against the wall heavily, she frowned in pain and said, “Cheng Ziming, let go!”

Cheng Ziming expression was grim and he tightened his grip on her arm. He said in a low and cold voice, “Lin Chu, today is a big day in the Lin family, stop walking around with that face, as if everyone here owes you. I know you can’t take this lying down, but I’m already engaged to Yuwen and we’re about to get married. Don’t waste time hounding me and accept your fate. Just treat our past as a beautiful memory.”

Lin Chu smiled but replied in anger, “Cheng Ziming, you already have a thick skin, no point adding on the layers. How great do you think you are that I can’t forget you? I’m not so cheap. I won’t be professing my undying love to a selfish man who would betray anything for money. You’re not worth it. Don’t think that you are some sort of treasure I should have. The moment I found out you were cheating on me, you’re no better than shit in my heart!”

Cheng Ziming’s handsome face contorted. He held her tight and said, “Lin Chu, I know your feeling for not being able to have the love you want. If you can make yourself feel better by saying these words, I can understand. However, we’ve already broken up and I hope you will know to avert any suspicion cast on us and leave things on good terms. Don’t create any trouble today and cause everyone to be upset.”

Lin Chu wanted to throw up at his stubborn words that were unwilling to accept she didn’t love him, the more he thought she loved him, the worse his words were. How could she have ever loved this disgusting man? He was just too full of himself!

Lin Chu gave a cold laugh. “That’s really great! If you’re upset, then it’s wonderful for me. Mr. Cheng, I wish for the both of you to have a harmonious union and may you die without any sons!”

She flung her arms and turned into the restroom next to her.

Cheng Ziming watched where Lin Chu entered, stunned. With a distorted look, he turned and came face-to-face with a man who looked back at him in ridicule. It was a face with sharp eyebrows and a pair of bright eyes, it was an elegant face that was unparalleled. Cheng Ziming felt his own presence being squashed to nothing.

The man’s structurally perfect, long fingers held on to a cigarette he was not smoking. It was just sitting lit on his fingers as silky, white smoke floated upwards.
