Chapter 684 - 680: On the Way Back Home

Chapter 686: Chapter 680: On the Way Back Home

“What tremendous power!”

David Jones lowered his head, watching his left hand, which seemed capable of crushing the heavens and earth, and his right hand wielding the Chaos Emperor Blade, able to slaughter everything before him, with some disbelief in his own confidence.

In his view, the terrifying power brought by the Dragon Emperor Combined even far surpassed Pet Bond Coordination!!!

“At this moment, I feel like I could use Class VI strength to kill any Class VII Overlord Beast.” A sudden intuition popped into David Jones’s mind.

“Too small, the scope is too small. If you’re willing to pay two Dragon Crystals, we could totally take on a legend!” the Sword Spirit Azr conveyed with a thought.

“It’s a pity that the time the Dragon Emperor Combined can be maintained is too short!” David Jones felt a bit regretful in his heart.

The Dragon Emperor Combined places extremely high demands on a Trainer’s physique. Despite having cultivated the Tigrex Dossier to the fourth level, he could only activate it for one minute, which was even shorter than the three minutes of Loona’s Emperor’s Frost Armor. Yet, it was able to exert a stronger power, so strong that David Jones himself found it somewhat inconceivable.

“Profile”: Dragon Emperor Combined

“Level”: Class VIII Mechinery legendary skill

“Profile”: In the integration form of the Infinite Dragon Emperor, one can transform into the Dragon Emperor Mech and combine with a Trainer. The strength of both parties will be 100% shared, and depending on the degree of their bond, they can gain an increase of ten to a hundred times the normal Arcane Force value.

Note: In the Dragon Emperor Combined state, the Dragon Emperor Mech possesses power that matches or even exceeds that of the Ultimate Emperor species (at the same level).

“Even without using the combined technique, the current me could still instantly kill Loona!” David Jones glanced at Loona.

Loona: “???”

If it weren’t for the scarcity of the Dragonized Time Stone, it would have activated its ancient form right now, determined to let the Trainer know what real strength is!

After all, just because it couldn’t defeat the Dragon Emperor Mech didn’t mean it couldn’t use the power of time to bide time. If it had enough power of time to use, Loona was confident it could drag out the fight until the Dragon Emperor Mech disintegrated, leading to an even confrontation.

After soothing Loona’s mood, and considering there was still some time left in the combined state, David Jones turned his attention to the two incredibly potent combined skills.

Considering the fragility of the Mesona Space, David Jones had no intention to experiment. After roughly understanding the effects of the combined skills, he deactivated the state of Dragon Emperor Combined.

Otherwise, he was afraid he wouldn’t have enough energy to perform his daily Dragon-Wielding strength Strengthening tonight.

“Roar!” (Boring!)

The Gluttonous Beast returned to its original form and turned its gaze toward Rainbow, with a hint of fighting intent flickering in its eyes.

As the being with the highest Species Level in the team, it could only compete with Loona to avoid being ranked second to last, lest it be at the bottom.

Now, after consuming Pet Resources, its strength was only an entire class level behind that of Rainbow. Considering the difference in their species, perhaps it could contend for first place!

“Stop messing around, we have to set out to explore the Relic tomorrow.”

David Jones rubbed his tired eyes, feeling as if he would fall asleep the next second.

The heavy burden that came with the Dragon Emperor Combined was much more severe than the skill’s description suggested, so it seemed like tonight’s Dragon-Wielding strength Strengthening would have to be skipped.

The next morning, under the leadership of Teacher Lilith, David Jones and Grau left Rosewood College together.

On the way back to his hometown, David Jones, who usually turned a deaf ear to worldly matters, could still hear some passersby discussing this year’s Crown Competition, speculating which of the beastmaster hopefuls could win the crown honor.

It had to be said that as the preliminaries of the Crown Competition began, the talk of the national competition within the Flowery Kingdom grew more intense.

David Jones occasionally saw some Trainers arguing passionately for their idols, even initiating Trainer Battles, attempting to persuade others with virtue.

Yes, it’s true. As one of the domestic Trainer competitions with the highest level of attention, the list of contestants for the National Crown Competition comprises the Beast Master’s Pride List which many well-informed Trainers have unearthed. Furthermore, rankings are also predicted based on the competitors’ preliminary performances and past records, garnering countless supporters.

And the one ranked first is Sandel Goldsmith, the universally acknowledged strongest King Trainer from Peony City.

As an outstanding graduate who initially led Peony College to establish a triple-crown dynasty, Sandel Goldsmith’s strength was beyond doubt.

Even without intentionally inquiring, David Jones could learn about the man’s formidable strength from the discussions among passersby.

Being able to cultivate his Arcane Star to the later phase of Class VI at the age of twenty-nine and to hold his own against an Epic Trainer in three rounds, Sandel Goldsmith’s strength was, in fact, in a league of its own among the contestants. It was therefore no surprise that some people dared to name him the crowned Trainer in advance.

“What do you think of Sandel Goldsmith?” Lilith Hoyle asked with a light laugh.

She was very pleased with this disciple of hers, even to the point of not asking an extra question despite guessing that David Jones might possess the Soul-Refining Bodhi Tree.

Of course, in addition to being satisfied with David Jones’s potential, a part of her reason was the importance she placed on her own face as a teacher.

“I always feel there’s someone backing Sandel Goldsmith, he’s not as strong as the internet says,” David Jones said calmly.

If Sandel Goldsmith ends up winning the crown, it would be acceptable, but if he fails, the more vicious the hype is, the heavier the backlash he will face upon defeat. However, all those matters had little to do with himself.

Had it not been for Sandel Goldsmith’s supporters online using his name to drag him down, David Jones wouldn’t have been interested in watching the competition today.

Thinking about the popular online comments of “Sandel Goldsmith in the north, David Jones in the south,” David Jones was actually curious to see what kind of genius could be considered his equal.

“Sandel Goldsmith is the new face of Peony College, his strength isn’t as simple as it appears,” Lilith Hoyle said, nodding slightly.

She wasn’t particularly interested in the upcoming Crown Competition, merely looking for topics to alleviate her boredom.

“Perhaps, there are too many people who like to hype things up nowadays, hence the nonsensical titles like ‘Sandel Goldsmith in the north, David Jones in the south’!” David Jones said, not fondly.

What ‘David Jones in the south’? Even he found the moniker distasteful when he heard it.

Although the VIP compartment on the journey to Waterland City was spacious and luxurious, with seats far apart from each other, the conversation between David Jones and the other was still overheard by a man and a woman in front.

“Thump thump thump!” That was the sound of fingers tapping on the armrest.

David Jones looked up to see a pale and pretty girl, around seventeen or eighteen years old, glaring at him fiercely.

The middle-aged man behind the girl, dressed like a butler, looked apologetic.

“Is there a problem?” David Jones asked, his brows furrowing slightly.

He had deliberately ignored the other party’s approach, not wanting to make trouble or be recognized, yet the girl had gone out of her way to confront him.

“Apologize to me!”

The girl tilted her pretty face upwards, and matched with her over-the-knee black and white stockings, gave off the vibe of a haughty miss.

“Do I know you?” David Jones asked, at a loss for words.

Being asked to apologize out of nowhere, no matter how pretty she was or her being a girl, he wasn’t one to indulge such behavior.

“It doesn’t matter whether you know me or not, but I won’t allow you to slander Senior David Jones in public!!!” The girl stomped her foot, furious.

“I slandered Senior David Jones?”

David Jones was momentarily taken aback, instinctively touching his cheek, then met his teacher’s amused eyes enjoying the scene.
