Chapter 182: 3rd Legion Established.
Year 73 of the Federal Calendar.
While the Great Interstellar Wall project was in full swing, the various fleets of the 1st Legion, that were carrying out the visit around the Loulan Star Field, had also made significant achievements.
Currently, the number of Human Federation Affiliated Civilizations had reached 17. Other than Li Cangdou’s 4th Fleet, which was rather miserable and did not meet their target civilization, all of the other fleets had some achievements. 𝐟𝙧ee𝔀e𝐛𝓃𝐨𝚟𝑒𝗹.c𝗼𝚖
Originally, Lin Fan thought that the Og Empire and Laika Empire were strange enough, but after looking at the other 15 Civilizations, he realized that this universe was really full of strange things. f𝘳e𝒆w𝗲𝐛𝘯𝐨νe𝚕.co𝓶
Among them, there was a plant Civilization. Their warships were developed from plants and their means of attack was even more peculiar. Their ammunition was a special seed that, after hitting the target, will quickly grow and destroy it within 10 seconds.
There was also a Civilization that took the cyborg path. They were one of the most crazy groups of people that Lin Fan had met. They even replaced some of their internal organs with machines. Like the Laika Empire’s knights, they could fight in space without needing additional protection.
There was even a Civilization of magicians. Of course, it’s not the supernatural power type of magic. It’s still a product of science and technology, disguised as “magic.”

There were really too many strange and weird Civilizations. Lin Fan simply couldn’t simply fathom the sheer amount.
But then again, from their perspective, it’s the Human Federation’s technology that was weird.
However, although these Civilizations were strange and they took a different path from the Human Federation, there were many aspects that the latter can borrow.
For example, Bai Zixian used the technology of the Laika Empire to carry out an Interstellar Knight-esk type of project, hoping to create a new concept of Mecha and battle armor.
He even stole Lin Fan’s Paladin Armor.
“This Paladin battle armor is only made from Level 2 Civilization technology. It’s too weak, I’ll give it back to you after I upgrade it!”
Well, Lin Fan had to admit that the former had a point. Though, he knew that Bai Zixuan was mainly taking it for research. As for upgrades or the like, that would depend on Bai Zixian’s mood.

Earth, in the Federal Presidential Palace.
All of the warships of the 3rd Legion had been delivered, and the personnel had also been allotted. Now, only the Legion Commander had not yet been decided.
At this moment, Lin Zhen was looking at the promotion and appointment request for the 3rd Legion’s Legion Commander submitted by Sanders.
“Marshal Sanders, I always thought that your Lunar Headquarters would choose Chris Rhodes to be the Legion Commander of the 3rd Legion, but how come it is Jiang Hai here?”
Lin Zhen put down the two documents and looked at Sanders.
There was frequent communication between the two. Even Sanders himself was optimistic about Chris.
After all, among the Fleet Commanders on the front line, Chris was the one with the strongest command ability.
But what Lin Zhen didn’t expect was that in the request that Sanders submitted, it was Jiang Hai, which was a surprise to the former.
“President, I am also optimistic about Chris. I even had a private talk with him. However, he is not willing to accept the position.”
Saying this, Sanders wore a wry smile.
He was really optimistic about Chris. To be honest, in terms of ability, Chris was a big chunk ahead of Jiang Hai.
Alas, Chris didn’t want to do it.
“He didn’t even falter, despite the promotion?”
Lin Zhen was stunned, ‘What was happening?’
“Look, your son is like a magnet! People don’t want to leave Lin Fan’s command…”
“Uh…”
Such a reason made Lin Zhen speechless.
“President, here’s what I think… When the 4th Legion is established, we can let Chris take the position!”
“That’s not a bad idea. We just have to wait a few years!”
After hearing Sanders’ suggestion, Lin Zhen’s eyes lit up. It’s not too late to do so then.
Lin Zhen was more accommodating to loyal soldiers.
After there were no other issues, Lin Zhen signed his name on the two requests respectively. From this moment, Jiang Hai officially became the 3rd Legion Legion Commander. It could be said that he directly entered the highest rank in the Interstellar Fleet. The rank which was on the same level as Lin Fan and Liang Xingchen.
A month later, when Jiang Hai returned to the Lunar Headquarters, he officially took over the 3rd Legion and received his first mission from Sanders.
The mission was to go to the Loulan Star Field and follow the route of the 1st Legion’s visit. He was to clean up all the non-Federation Affiliated Civilizations on the way, and to ship all of the resources obtained from these Civilizations back to the Federation.
Since this mission included plundering, the Federation also sent a huge fleet of 100,000 large transport ships to follow the 3rd Legion and take care of the cargo.
After receiving the mission, Jiang Hai immediately led the 3rd Legion and set off.
To him, this mission was very simple. After all, it’s just Level 2 Civilizations. Further, it was a good way to train the whole Legion!
After all, the majority of the people in this Legion were new recruits, who had never seen and experienced bloodshed; except for some of the Lunar Headquarter veterans, who had been re-enlisted.
Jiang Hai was happy. Firstly, he fulfilled his dream and became a Legion Commander. He then received a combat mission that could train the new recruits. Naturally, he was happy.
However, the Civilizations in the Loulan Star Field won’t be happy though. For them, the 1st Legion’s visit was the calm before the storm.
Two months later, when the 3rd Legion entered the Loulan Star Field and attacked the first Civilization, an expected problem occurred.
When attacking the Civilization’s home planet, some Mecha pilots hesitated. Due to their hesitation, several of them were killed in battle.
In the clash between Civilizations, there was no room for hesitation. If one was soft, then they would be the one who was going to die. Even if they survived, they will drag down their comrades.
This happens to any new fleet at the beginning. However, Jiang Hai didn’t have the slightest mercy for these types of people and sent them to Court Martial! The whole incident was also reported to the whole army.
It was only after hundreds of people had been court-martialed that such problems disappeared, it was during their attack on the fifth Civilization.
Now, all of the soldier’s eyes in the Legion were completely different from before. There was no longer compassion for the enemies!
Seeing this, Jiang Hai was finally relieved that the initial period of bloodshed had finally passed.
