Chapter 40: Olivier Falls in Love
Chapter 40: Olivier Falls in Love
Translated by XianPiete
Olivier was sitting on the coach waiting for the play to let out when he saw you a young woman closing up one of the shops. She brushed the hair over her ear looking frustrated about something. Olivier watched as she struggled with a heavy iron gate. He swung down off the top of the coach and walked over to give her a hand. The closer he got the more his heart started to beat. Olivier had seen all of the most beautiful ladies in the nobility but none of them had ever caused him to react like this, there was something about her that just caused him to take notice and be unable to look away.
He walked up and asked, "Hello, may I be of some assistance?"
She flippantly blurted out, "Oh look, if it ain't a prince ridin' up on 'is white 'orse to come help the pretty lady. **** off, pretty boy I ain't sleepin' wit ya just 'cause ye look nice and 'elped me wit' a door once!" She struggled even harder with the door finally falling to the ground as she slipped.
Olivier chuckled and pulled the door himself and noticed that the release latch was still in the lock position. He flipped the latch and then gently pulled the iron gate closed with a single hand while smiling his normal goofy smile at the young woman. He said, "Hello, my name is Olivier, may I at least have the pleasure of knowing your name?" He held his hand out to her to help pull her back up to her feet.

Norris and Cecile came walking out of the theater just before the play was to end. As Olivier walked the other way the bright pink carriage moved to the pickup row. Norris opened the door for Cecile and said, "Young miss, I have taken the liberty of having a pot of chamomile prepared."
She smiled at Norris and then said, "Tonight we'll stay in the city. The usual Inn."
He gave a bow and said, "Of course, young miss."
Norris helped her up into the cab and then closed the door before sitting up top with the coachman. The carriage the slowly pulled away nonchalantly heading away from the theater.

Olivier held his hand out and the young woman took his hand and then guiltily said, "Thanks."
Olivier gave a gentlemanly bow and then said, "Sometimes a prince really will come to help a pretty young lady you know, although I do admit it was my fault this time for not riding my white horse." He gave her his normal goofy smile and then said, "Olivier de la Marche, at your service."
She put her hands on her hips and said, "If'n yer the third prince then I'm the lady o' house Aumont." She snorted in derision at Olivier. 𝗳𝙧𝐞𝚎w𝗲𝚋n𝚘𝙫𝑒𝘭.𝑐om
He chuckled and said, "Madeline, has red hair, your hair is clearly black." 𝐟𝐫𝗲𝙚w𝚎𝐛𝙣𝐨𝙫𝘦𝗹.c૦m
She smirked at him and said, "I think someone's stealin' yer coach, gov."
Olivier spun around and saw nothing wrong he chuckled and slowly turned around to see that she had already left. He looked at the building she had come out of and made a mental note to come back here during the day.
Just then Olivier saw the stream of people leaving the theater. He hurried back to the coach just in time to see a very memorable coach pull up in front, the white royal carriage used by the princes and princesses. He said out loud, "Albert came to see the play?" Sure enough he saw Albert and his entourage leave the play. What shocked him the most was the way Albert walked. Gone was his normal childlike way of moving and instead it was replaced by the confident walk of an intelligent, capable man. Olivier smirked and then said, "Well done, Albert, well done. You've hidden yourself well."

After Prince Albert and his entourage made their exit, Madeline and Guy walked out arm in arm. Olivier brought the carriage up and then hopped down to open the door. Guy said, "Olivier, your brother was here tonight."
Olivier nodded and said, "I saw that, looking quite dapper tonight."
Guy nodded and said, "He participated tonight with a play of his own, making himself the hero."
Olivier said, "Oh? When we get some time, I would like to hear the rest, for now, allow me to help you deliver your lady back to her home." Guy nodded and then helped Madeline up into the coach and followed behind.

"That coachman..." One of the men in Prince Albert's carriage started to say.
Prince Albert chuckled and said, "Yes, that was little Olivier. I wonder if he saw Cecil leave."
"Isn't it about time for us to remove her? She knows too much." Another of the men said.
Prince Albert chuckled and then said, "Cecil is worth more than any of the rest of you. Never forget that."
