Chapter 314 - Return

314 Return

After finally fending off some giant mutated animals, they all decided to rest for the night. There was no point in finding out where they were when it was completely dark like this.

It would be completely useless.

Kyle was taking out a map and silently taught Kate about the road and intersection around City E. Even if she was not familiar with other places, she had to know the area around City E so that they could get back quickly.

The teleportation ability was simply too tempting.

But the weakness of Kate made her have to study first.

Kate looked at Kyle pitifully and resigned to her fate. After studying for a bit, they all went to rest.

In the morning, they all realized that they were in the parallel road from yesterdays’ night. It was no wonder that there were a lot of giant mutated animals. This road hadn’t been used as it was heading towards City D.

City D was destroyed and hadn’t been rebuilt.

Anyway, the population had decreased sharply thanks to the giant mutated animals’ appearance.

.....

They no longer need so many cities like before.

“Thankfully, we don’t get lost too far.” Lotte heaved a sigh of relief. She would definitely feel headache if they were to get lost in an unknown place countless kilometers away from their destination.

“There’s an intersection ahead where we can return to our previous road.” Marc was also relieved.

He thought that they would have to stay in the wilderness again for a period of time. It seemed that the situation was not that bad.

“How’s Kate?” Lucy asked.

“Kyle is still teaching her to memorize the map on the back.” Lotte giggled. She felt that it was a bit funny. Even now, Kyle couldn’t fully separate himself from the role as Kate’s teacher.

Lucy thought about it and also laughed. Poor Kate.

Even during this time, she still had to study.

Lucy herself was glad that she didn’t have to study anymore. Those days in the university was already very tiring for her. She didn’t want to have to repeat those times again because it was really tiring and annoying for her.

At the very least, she would not want to go back to the time period where she had to study all the time.

The rest of the journey went smoothly.

They no longer used Kate’s teleportation ability. No one wanted to be thrown in the middle of giant mutated animals’ horde again and had to fight. Anyway, they had a relaxing trip while Kate was being taught to memorize the map and route by Kyle.

When they reached City E, Kyle brought the mutated cocoa plant to his father, who was also very excited.

“The mutated plants had appeared in many places.” General Ryan sighed. “I didn’t expect that we will be able to cultivate them too.”

Kyle shrugged. “Have you heard of the national meeting something.”

“Oh, right. Everyone who had reached rank 7 get the invitation. Yours and Kate’s invitation is here.” General Ryan reached to his desk and took out two golden colored letter invitation. “It’s sealed through some method and only those who was named would be able to open it. Seriously, those old guys are making useless things again.”

“It’s not completely useless.” Kyle looked at the invitation and played with it a few times. “At the very least, they will know whether the invitation is received by the party it meant or not.”

He could faintly sense the illusion ability on the surface of the letter.

This made him realize that perhaps, there was already a powerful illusionist among those others people who reached rank 7.

But it didn’t matter.

His own illusion ability was still growing slowly but surely. In the future, it might be possible for him to be a powerful illusionist too. But Kyle himself would not like to focus on this department.

He liked fighting with his fire and lightning element the most.

“I see.” General Ryan shrugged. “From what I know, there are more than 10 people who received the invitation all over the nation. I don’t know what their purpose is, but I can guess that the leader didn’t want all of us to be separated.”

“Will this be common?” Kyle pointed at the invitation letter.

“They said twice to thrice a year.” General Ryan was not rank 7 yet, but because his son is, he could also know some of the inside information. Anyway, those who delivered the letter knew that he will definitely told his son.

“How annoying,” Kyle muttered.

General Ryan’s lips twitched. “You can also exchange some information and items with the others. Being able to grow so much, it’s estimated that you also have some things that you might want from them. They are all the strongest in various field too.”

Kyle arched his eyebrows but didn’t comment.

He could also guess that these people had their own status. To be able to become rank 7 in such a short time meant that they had enough resources and means to be able to achieve it. And if they were not powerful people before the red rain, it just meant that they were capable people who could adapt at the shortest period of time possible.

The changes of the world were somewhat sudden and not at the same time.

Some people had been prepared for it while some others only had a bit of the information. Kyle himself only knew that there might be a changes to the world but he was not being made known to the details.

Thus, he was also caught off guard in the university.

“How about the business meeting something?”

“Oh, you just need to fill the name of the people you want to recommend to participate. Mind you, you can only fill three people’s name.”

“Oh, help me fill out Dylan and Mr. White’s name along with yours.”

General Ryan grinned. “That will be done very quickly.”

Kyle snorted when he saw his father’s expression.
