Chapter 14: I Suddenly Couldn’t See the Titles (1)

Translator: Night Fury

“Aye…” Although I felt a strong stomachache due to the supernatural thing I had just encountered, I still couldn’t deceive myself by staying in the same place. Therefore, I continued to look into other places in this building.

There was a stairway to the second floor on the lower right, but I still wanted to search the whole ground floor first.

Then I started to search from the room on the upper left. When I pushed the door open, I found that it was actually a kitchen.

The moment I got into the room, the sweet smell of food struck my nose. I supposed it should be the smell of some meat soup. As my appetite being whetted, I began to feel hungry. Since I had cooked meals by myself over these years, I could tell that this soup was a high-grade master piece. I already had a good appetite after smelling it, which meant that it was qualified to be served in the restaurant.

“It’ll be better if I could eat croissant with the soup…” However, no one dared to eat the food from unknown source… The most important thing was that the food seemed to have been made just now when obviously there was no one here. Had all the people here disappeared?

No, that was not right… Having walked to the kitchen table, I used my index finger to touch the surface of the table and only rubbed a layer of dust. Clearly the table hadn’t been used for a long time. That was the only reason for the thick dust. However, it was so weird that there was a pot of soup on the table. The stranger thing was that there wasn’t any fire being lighted now, but the soup was still boiling… So, a boiling soup suddenly appeared in a kitchen which had never been used?

Could it be more strange?

“Anybody here?” Being totally reckless, I tried to shout that.

Of course, no one showed up.

After I had left the kitchen and returned to the dining room, I planning to go out from another door. However, something happened there which almost made me bite my tongue!

There was food being served on the table which I had lay on!

I rushed over to have a check. The smell from the food was exactly the same as the one in the kitchen. Besides, there was also a plate on which there was a croissant.

I frowned and thumped on the table. With a heavy sound, the soup spilled from the plate.

“… If anyone is there, show yourself now! Stop joking me!” I was standing there like a fool with deadly silence around me.

So the person who had done this to me had planned to play this game with me to the end.

Though I didn’t know who that was or why on earth he or she had locked me here, I still wouldn’t be terrified by the prank of this level.

After I had looked at the food on the dining table intently, I walked to the other door on the upper right of the dining room.

I opened the door and entered into a place which seemed like a hall. The large gate in my sight should be the entry of this mansion.

I made a solid deduction that the door wouldn’t be opened.

However, I still decided to have a try. As expected, the door was just like the other windows which couldn’t be opened. It seemed that it was not locked but was more like being drew on the wall, which cut me off from the outside.

“Gosh…” I sighed and turned around. Then I started to look around the structure of this mansion.

There was a huge clock in the hall, but was already broken. If it was still working, it should make the tick-tack sound.

Now the time on the clock stopped at eight fourth eight… I didn’t know what that meant.

There was also a long stairway to the second floor in the center of the hall with dark red carpet laying on it. Half of the wooden stairs had already been ruined. I couldn’t ’t help but wonder if the whole stairway would collapse if I walked on it.

There were also two doors on the left except for the door to the dinning room and another three doors on the right.

Since I had already made up my mind to search in the first floor, I would go to those rooms first.

While I was wandering in a huge mansion like this, I did feel a bit scared no matter how calm I was in the ordinary times.

I saw dust everywhere in this middle ages european style manor. It seemed that it had been a long time someone had lived in this place.

But when I looked at this building from the outside, this manor looked quite bright to me. Little did I know that it would be a ghost house… I wondered where all the other people had gone.

I had been the last but two persons to enter the manor. Only Yu Hui and Li Li who had called me because of some reason I hadn’t known had followed me at that time.

Then I shouldn’t be the only one who had fainted. Maybe Li Li and Yu Hui might also be at some places in this manor.

Because if they didn’t faint out, they wouldn’t sit there watching me being locked here. And I would have waked up in the ward of the hospital instead of the dining room of this manor.

Such being the case, I should find Yu Hui and Li Li first.

Man left female right, then I started with the right side.

When I reached the first door on the right side, I pulled he door handle and only found that the door had been locked.

Unlike the main door of the hall, the handle swayed a bit after being pulled by me. So I only needed a key to open it.

It was just like the story in the scary games. Thinking of that, I put on a smile on my face… I could even imagine what was about to happen. The story would be about some complicated murder case in this manor. And there had to be someone who had turned into a evil spirit, which turned this manor a ghost house… or something like that.

It would be too old-fashioned if things developed like that.

I disliked the things that I couldn’t understand. So I also hated those scenes in the horror movie where those abnormal things couldn’t be explained.

I already knew that there were ghosts in this world. However, the ghosts I had met were different from the figures I had thought they should be. They were real creatures instead of imaginary existences.

They ate people, they possessed on people, they were much stronger than ordinary people and also had super power.

The so-called ghost was probably the black frost thing which I had seen before. And they were nothing like those half transparent creature in white with their hair hanging loosely who floated in the air.

After I had a conception of that, I was suddenly sure about what I was going to do.

After that, I headed to the second room on the right side. This time I was able to open the door.

It was a room with an area of seven or eight square meters. There was a daylight lamp on the ceiling, a very simple bed, a wooden chair, a flush toilet in the corner, but no window in the room.

What was the deal with this room…? How could a flush toilet and a bed be in the same room?

Only the room in the jail would be set up like this.

Wait, a place to imprison someone… I had a bad feeling all of a sudden and turned around to rush toward the outside. However, the door was also closing itself at the same time!

Luckily I was fast. Only after I had held the door handle and pulled it fiercely did the door stop closing.

I would certainly be locked up here if the door was closed… I didn’t have any basis about that assumption, but I was pretty sure that it would happen like that. However, before I could get relieved, something weird happened again.

Another fair colored hand with slender fingers appeared on the door… then another hand showed up too!

My hand was still holding the handle, so whom did this pair of hands belong to?

Someone was standing behind my back… And it seemed that this person had arrived at a place which was pretty close to me. Now I could even feel the air behind my neck flowing.

The person pushed forward the door violently and tried to close the door. Meanwhile I exerted myself to stop that person.

However, even if I pulled the handle with all my might and my whole body leaned back, I still couldn’t rival that person’s strength. Gradually, I couldn’t control the direction of the handle and the crack between the door and the frame became less and less. At last, the door was closed with a firm sound.

“Who are you?!” I turned around in indignation. Right now my angry mood had already overcome my fear. I just wanted to rebuke the one who had stopped me.

“It’s me! Ha ha ha ha~” With that familiar laughter, I already knew who that was before I saw her face.

“Lian Bing?!” It really was Lian Bing.

She was still pushing me against the wall while saying that.

“That’s right, it’s me. Ho ho ho ho~ I have freaked you out, right? Cheng Jun?”

“What are you doing here?” Why would Lian Bing show up here? Had she applied for the job too? No way… what the hell had happened? Was I still in a dream now?

That was another weird situation. A totally unconcerned person suddenly showed up in this ghost house.

Wait, the touch was real. I had just pinched my arm, and that had been really hurt.

Seeing my behavior, Lian Bing asked me teasingly,

“What? You think you are having a dream right now? Why don’t you feel me by yourself?”

“Huh?”

She suddenly approached me. The distance between us became shorter and shorter until we had zero distance within each other… No, even closer than that.
