Chapter 931
Chapter 931: Contradicting Emotions
Yvonne had already expected someone to find fault with the statement she had taught Knox to reveal before the King.
She had even guessed that the only boy present who studied at the Royal Academy would be the one to point it out.
Her predictions turned out to be true as Prince Fritzen was the first to voice out his doubts, bringing the others’ attention to it as well.
Thankfully, the little girl had been careful about what she was asking her cousin to accomplish on her behalf and had prepared him to deal with such situations.
What Knox had uttered in his defense earlier was also the truth.
The kind of soaps she had given her two brothers a few months ago was not the same as the one now in the King’s possession.
Yvonne had always been thoughtful about the things she prepared for Taylor and Howard.
.....
Thus the soaps they received in the past were appropriate for their age, making those soaps an enjoyable experience for them.
Whereas, the King had received one which would cater to his preferences as the soap in his hand was meant for matured individuals.
This scent was suitable for older men, not something that young boys like Howard and Taylor would prefer.
Therefore, Knox had not uttered any false words as the King indeed would be the first to use a soap of this new kind.
Since Yvonne had been confident when she assured her cousin, right now that confidence was reflected in his eyes as he stood before the King.
King Ophire nodded once he grasped what the young man had said, making him withdraw the faint aura that had surrounded them a moment ago. 𝘧𝔯e𝗲𝙬ℯ𝙗𝓷o𝘷e𝗹.𝐜𝑜𝒎
“So CLOVER plans to sell different types of soaps?” He questioned in answer to which he received an immediate reply.
Though Knox wasn’t completely involved in the matters concerning his little sister’s business, this much he was aware of.
She had revealed to him what was inside the parcel she received from the Valente fief in recent times.
Therefore, he was quick to answer the King as that was something he was sure of.
While the King was observing the young man, the Queen had been glancing at the box in his hand.
“Is that...” She muttered, succeeding in attracting the attention of those near her.
The King and the Royal siblings turned in the direction the Queen was gazing at, only to find something which they had missed earlier.
Even King Ophire who had been holding this box had failed to notice that there was something drawn on the inside of the wooden item.
Knox blushed when he realized what they were looking at but did not interfere.
Roman and Grandpa Valente were as ignorant as the rest of the audience present here so they could only wait for someone to help them understand what was going on.
In the meantime, they heard the Queen’s soft melodious voice as she hummed a tune.
Until this tune came to an end, no one dared to even breathe loudly in fear of distracting her.
Everyone had heard about the Queen’s excellent talent in music and that she could be regarded as the best piano player in the entire Kingdom.
However, no one had seen her play the piano as that was something she did only for the King who had high words of praise for her at all times.
Therefore, when they heard the same Queen humming a melodious tune for them, they cherished this opportunity they had received.
Once the Queen had completed what she was doing, she raised her head to meet her husband’s eyes and smiled widely.
“A blessing for your long life, my King.” She enunciated each word, explaining the meaning of the tune she had just hummed.
For someone who was excessively fond of music, Queen Zena had learned numerous musical pieces as well as the meaning hidden behind them.
Many composers had the quirk of concealing their true feelings or a personal message within the pieces they created which could be discovered by those who play them in the future.
The famous piece, ‘Tears of our Love’ was one such tune that concealed the pain of its composer, attracting the hearts of many.
However, the one which Queen Zena had hummed was contrary to the melancholic ambiance that permeated whenever the previously mentioned piece was played.
This one was far more cheerful and pleasant to hear which was also why a smile had formed on her beautiful face.
To add to that sunny feeling now within her, the message hidden in the piece she had hummed only made her smile widen.
On the inside of the gift box given by VC was a short two-lined musical piece that had been drawn in a stellar font.
When Queen Zena had discovered this piece which the others had failed to, she began humming the tune following the notes painted on the box.
Thanks to this, the audience was given the opportunity to hear the stunning voice of their Queen who was simply revealing the meaning of that piece to her husband.
When King Ophire, an avid admirer of his wife’s talented voice, heard what she had said, his positive opinion about VC grew even stronger.
Even if she had not mentioned it, he had realized the meaning behind the musical piece as he too was fond of music and learned a great deal about it during his younger days.
Therefore, his smile also appeared when he sensed the secret blessing that VC had hidden within the already impressive gift that had been sent to him.
“Good good.” He chuckled while closing the box and handing it over to his chamberlain who would set it aside for now.
These simple words of praise caused the others to marvel at what the King and Queen had noticed to bring this sudden flash of happiness to their eyes.
However, they were bound to remain oblivious as the King once again nodded at the Valente family members before asking them to return to their earlier positions.
Only when they were back in their spots did Grandpa Valente and Roman heave sighs of relief.
They also did not forget to glare at Knox who was quite adept at keeping things a secret from them.
Earning these glares made Knox grin sheepishly as he did not act on his own accord.
He was asked to remain silent so he had kept these things to himself until now but now that he was done with his task, he could reveal what he and Yvonne had planned as there was no longer any need to be secretive.
However, they would have to wait until this event came to an end as speaking right now might disrupt the other families who were on their way to meet the King next.
Sensing what he was trying to convey with his eyes, Roman and Grandpa Valente agreed begrudgingly before they too averted their gaze towards the elevated platform where the Royal family was seated.
Yvonne, on the other hand, was pleased with the outcome of what she had planned with her cousin and butler.
Things were moving in the direction she was aiming for so a satisfied expression was evident on her face as she watched the other families move toward the King one after the other.
It did not take long before every Fief Lord had come forward to wish the King and converse with him.
As always, the King’s birthday would come to an end once this was done and the same happened this year as well.
This celebration was only a facade for the King to meet and assess the heirs of different families.
This year, however, it had a different meaning of meeting the women and daughters of these families yet the ending was the same.
Therefore, the nobles remained in the Palace for a while before they began heading back to their estates in quick succession.
Many nobles had achieved what they had intended to and thus had pleasant smiles as they headed back home while others were depressed at failing to gain what they hoped for.
Marquess Samed had a wide smile as he had gained a large amount of gossip, satisfying his interests whereas, the Blaise family headed out with an aura of gloom around them.
Yvonne was happy that she had managed to create a buzz surrounding the name CLOVER by using her cousin and this joy reflected in her demeanor as she walked back to their carriage with a bounce in her step.
Contrary to her excitement, Elna Leopold walked with her shoulders slumped as she wasn’t able to achieve what she had planned.
The reason she had put on this beautiful jewelry and the stunning gown was to attract the attention of a certain someone.
To her chagrin, that person was nowhere to be seen which was also what caused her mood to plummet as she walked out of the Banquet hall with a defeated look on her face.
Many people could be seen with contradicting emotions as they made their way back after attending this special event.
However, after everything they had witnessed this evening, none of them noticed that something was different now.
The King’s celebration had always been an all-male event yet none of them seemed to find it odd that this tradition had changed overnight.
Instead, these same men who had been unhappy previously were now thinking of what they needed to do to help their wives and daughters gain a better impression in the sights of the Royal family for next year’s celebration.
In this way, the latest tradition of Rosenhyde was formed even though not many had realized how effortlessly it had found its way into their lives.
