Chapter 936
Chapter 936: Uninvited Guests
While Yvonne currently had a frown on her face as she leered at the unexpected guest who had arrived at her house, something similar was taking place elsewhere.
In a certain Palace not far from the St. Claire mansion, a table for two had been arranged upon the arrival of one such uninvited guest.
A pair of pale irises scanned their surroundings, appreciating the serene ambiance within this Palace.
“I can never get used to this sight.” Sevenz sighed in admiration while continuing to look around the residence of his old friend.
Contrary to the excitement apparent on his face, the one seated opposite him at this table did not seem to share the same emotions as him.
“Have you come here just to gawk or do you have a purpose for stopping by unannounced?” A low and unimpressed voice soon echoed in the air.
Pausing in his movements, Sevenz sneaked a peek at the young man he had come here to meet.
.....
Those emerald eyes that were now leering in his direction made him sign once again but this time in disappointment.
“We get to meet after a long gap and this is how you welcome me?” He clicked his tongue and even shook his head to display his current emotions.
Sadly, the other party in this mostly one-sided discussion wasn’t affected by his theatrics in the least bit.
Instead the frown on his face deepened as he waited to hear the answer to the question he had asked a moment ago.
It was the first free weekend in his busy schedule where he had gotten the chance to spend time with his family after being away for the past few weeks.
Therefore, Prince Draco was not too keen on entertaining guests as he had already made plans to spend the limited time he had at home with his family.
He would have to leave the Palace once again in the evening so Sevenz’s appearance wasn’t appreciated right now. 𝘧𝓇𝗲𝑒we𝙗noѵ𝑒l.𝐜o𝘮
The Prince also did not mind that he was being impolite to his guest who had come to meet him this afternoon.
He had been with his niece when his men had informed him of Sevenz’s arrival, making him cut short the time he spent with Felly to meet his uninvited guest.
Therefore, Prince Draco felt no guilt while he sat here with a sullen look on his face, interrogating Sevenz about his purpose of arrival.
Sensing the cold air around him, Sevenz, who was already used to being treated this way, decided to disclose the reason he had come here.
“I was commissioned to acquire something but thought you would like to know about it first.” He explained but found a look of confusion forming on the young Prince’s face.
Draco already knew that many nobles would seek the help of Ocular Caravans to purchase an item that was rare or available only in a far-off place, on their behalf.
The King and other members of the Royal family had also employed them on numerous occasions as Draco was the one who had introduced Sevenz to them.
However, never once had such a situation ever occurred.
What Sevenz did was his business and there was no reason or need to inform Prince Draco about it.
This was how things had been until now so the young man could not decipher what his acquaintance was trying to achieve here.
“An item to alter one’s appearance.” Sevenz’s very next words gave him the answer he was looking for.
Prince Draco raised his brow in reply, wanting to hear more about this surprisingly unexpected order the Ocular Caravans had received.
Most people he knew only sought Sevenz either for rare jewels or exotic pets.
Therefore, this was nowhere close to what he had been expecting to hear, piquing his interests further.
“The client wants to alter their hair and eye color and was hoping to find an item that made this possible.” The owner of Ocular Caravans continued his piece though he never mentioned the identity of this client.
Confidentiality was something his business prided itself on so Sevenz had no intention of spilling the beans about this part.
Therefore, even if Prince Draco, his oldest friend in the Rosenhyde Kingdom were to inquire about it, he would never get an answer.
Thankfully, the Prince was sensible enough to not pry but was more interested in something else.
“Why?” The Prince with emerald eyes questioned regarding a different matter that caught his attention.
People of Rosenhyde weren’t exposed to any forms of magic or enchantment as that was something never used in their land.
Though this did not mean that it wasn’t prevalent elsewhere, in different kingdoms.
However, the fact that the citizens of this Kingdom were ignorant about all things related to magic was irrefutable.
Hence the current doubt in his mind was concerning how this client had learned about the existence of such an item and why they would need it in the first place.
Sadly the complex thoughts in his brain weren’t relayed to the other person in the best way possible.
“Why else? To alter their appearance...” Sevenz rolled his eyes at the silly query his old friend had just asked.
Only a few moments ago he had revealed what his client was seeking this item for but it seemed that Prince Draco wasn’t able to keep up with what was going on right now.
Draco felt his lips twitch at the blatant look of disapproval and ridicule that Sevenz has just shot him.
However, before he could retort, he sensed movement coming from outside which made him halt and turn in its direction.
He wasn’t the only one as even Sevenz swerved his head towards the source of the sound.
As the two men leered in the same direction, they found a figure walking toward them on padded foot.
It was clear that this figure was trying to minimize their presence, by the way, they were walking but this was of no use as both Sevenz and Draco had caught them sneaking into the room they were now in.
“Your etcher sure has grown,” Sevenz exclaimed, observing the huge white-furred creature that froze in place a few feet away from where they sat.
It was Astolfo who had entered the room in a sneaky manner after having strolled around the Palace grounds all day long.
Since his Master was away in the last few weeks, this beast had been living leisurely.
With no one to criticize and reprimand him at every turn, Astolfo had been free to act as he pleased all day long.
However, last night his Master had returned unexpectedly and found him lazing around.
Since their reunion the previous night, the poor beast had been asked to train alone to make up for slacking until now.
Thus Astolfo who had been punished to undergo fierce training had run away early this morning to hide in a safe place until his Master left the Palace once again.
The Palace grounds were vast enough for an etcher like him to hide so there was no reason for him to return until the waters had calmed.
However, he had forgotten something immensely crucial to his existence.
If he did not return to the Cloud Palace that belonged to his Master and had become his home as well, there was no way he would be able to enjoy the scrumptious meals prepared for him every day.
He had been spoiled by the pampering he received from the guards of the Cloud Palace, now making it difficult for him to go hungry even for a single day.
Therefore, he had made his way back to this place but was startled to find his Master here as well.
His Master should have been in the Rose Palace right now, accompanying his niece.
The beast was confident about this fact and thus had headed back to the Cloud Palace.
However, now it was certain that he was wrong but this did not deter him from trying to sneak inside, hoping to gobble up his food before making another grand escape.
Though now it seemed that his efforts were in vain as even concealing his aura to go undetected had failed.
Not only his Master but the other person with him had also sensed his arrival, making him dub the two of them as monsters in his mind.
The ability to conceal his aura and go undetected was something he had inherited from his mother.
Though he had later taught this trick to his Master, he did not reveal all of his cards and was confident that he would be able to slip away from his scary Master’s clutches.
However, now he realized that even if he did not teach his Master all of the tricks he knew, this did not mean that he would remain clueless forever.
Prince Draco’s rapid pace of learning was something everyone who knew him was well aware of.
Therefore, Astolfo realized his folly only after he had been caught red-handed by his Master who was now staring right at him.
The beast also did not forget to sneak a peek at the other man with him.
‘His aura isn’t visible...’ Astolfo’s eyes narrowed when he realized that there was someone who could use the same trick as him.
Lowering one’s aura was common but going entirely undetected was something only he could do or so he thought.
Since he had learned this from his mother, the fact that someone else was able to do the same meant that they weren’t ordinary.
This led the beast to both appreciate and be wary of the person his Master was close to.
As he continued to learn more about this person, Astolfo made a pleasant discovery and did not wait another second before disclosing it to his Master as well.
‘Maybe this will lessen my next punishment.’ The huge white wolf hoped as he initiated a mental link with the Prince who was still leering in his direction.
